Chapter Summaries

The Thousand Sunny reached Punk Hazard, whose ruined research facility led Xia Chen to recognize it despite the island’s changed landscape. After Nami objected to landing because of the poison gas, Xia Chen said he could protect the crew, and they prepared to go ashore.

• Luffy spotted a barren island covered in purple gas as the Thousand Sunny sailed through the New World.
• Xia Chen recognized the island as Punk Hazard from its research facility ruins and wondered whether Luo and Momonosuke were there.
• Nami objected to visiting an island the Log Pose had not indicated, while Luffy insisted on going ashore.

The group entered the abandoned World Government island and encountered an artificial dragon guarding it. After Xia Chen killed the dragon, he searched its back for half of Kin'emon’s body but found nothing, leaving him to continue exploring the island.

Zoro fought Kin'emon, who mistook him for the thief who stole Wano Country’s national treasure, Shusui, and attacked him. As the crew watched, Xia Chen revealed he wanted to help Kin'emon find his son, Momonosuke, for a matter he called both life-and-death and minor.

• Kin'emon recognized Zoro’s Shusui and accused him of stealing it and Lord Ryuma’s body, then launched another attack.
