Ch. 202Mass Distribution of Supplies

Zhang Tianyuan chose to keep Jack’s sect under supervision while Wang Lei tightened the siege of the Cleveland Family. Meanwhile, Tan Mingda launched a mass distribution of food as the city prepared for industrial improvements, leaving residents surprised by their new rations and mobilization orders.

  • Zhang Tianyuan rejected forcibly disbanding Jack’s sect, deciding its followers could remain active under the Mutual Aid Society’s supervision.
  • Wang Lei began besieging the Cleveland Family, while Zhang Tianyuan brought geologists to survey California and Nevada for a future underground city.
  • Tan Mingda ordered the city to suspend work and distribute reserve food as preparations began for industrial improvements.
  • Zhou Tao and Xue Liangping helped distribute rice, vegetables, meat, and dried earthworms to their building’s residents.

Ch. 203A Grand Mobilization: Departing for a Parallel Spacetime (4K)

Residents in Finch Spacetime received supplies and volunteered for a nationwide mobilization to gather resources ahead of a possible ice age. Zhou Tao and Xue Liangping joined a truck convoy that crossed a black wall into a parallel spacetime, where it was suddenly daytime.

  • Residents enjoyed the newly distributed dried earthworms, while Zhou Tao and Xue Liangping suspected the Mutual Aid Society had provided them.
  • The administrator announced a mobilization to collect supplies abroad, and residents volunteered until he selected fifty people from the building.
  • Zhou Tao, Xue Liangping, and the other selected residents traveled to a truck depot and then drove to a construction site with thousands of trucks.
  • At two in the morning, soldiers directed the convoy through a huge black wall, and the drivers emerged into daylight.
  • Soldiers urged the drivers to keep moving along the road as Zhou Tao and the others struggled to understand how the scene had changed.

Ch. 204Welcome and a Meal

Zhou Tao and the other drivers crossed into the 2012 spacetime, where they learned that the Parallel Spacetime Mutual Aid Society had arranged their journey to collect donated supplies. As they ate and spoke with a Society member, Zhou Tao discovered that their hosts also faced an approaching solar-related catastrophe.

  • Zhou Tao and Xue Liangping tested the sunlight and realized it no longer burned them after they passed through the black wall.
  • At a service area, a government officer explained that the convoy had entered a parallel spacetime and that its mission was to carry donated supplies home.
  • The drivers received a warm welcome and feasted on abundant food prepared for them.
  • Zhou Tao asked a Mutual Aid Society soldier why the Society helped other spacetimes, and the soldier said mutual aid could benefit them in the future.
  • The soldier revealed that solar activity had affected the Earth's core in the 2012 spacetime and would cause an unprecedented catastrophe in about two years.

Ch. 205The Pangu Nears Completion

Zhou Tao learned that the Mutual Aid Society’s warning and spacetime migration plan had saved the people of Finch Spacetime from an approaching global catastrophe. In Pacific Rim Spacetime, Zhang Tianyuan visited Moyulan Base, where the Pangu was nearly complete, while Taylor sought help for the mecha industry he had restarted.

  • A soldier told Zhou Tao and the other drivers that rising core temperatures would cause catastrophic earthquakes and tsunamis in 2012, but the Mutual Aid Society had arranged for their spacetime’s population to relocate to No. 2 Spacetime.
  • The soldier described Thomas’s abandoned Atlantis Ark Project, and Zhou Tao’s group discussed the Mutual Aid Society’s role in changing their fates.
  • Zhou Tao received ration cards and an assignment to transport abandoned supplies to a port, then realized their own fate had already begun to change.
  • Zhang Tianyuan visited Moyulan Base and saw the nearly completed Pangu, which was expected to be finished in half an hour.
  • Mako Mori and the technical team prepared to measure the Pangu’s neural processing requirements, while Taylor complained that he had been made to bear the blame for restarting the mecha industry.
  • Ning Jihua offered to discuss ways to help Taylor’s mecha industry.

Ch. 206Neural computing power

Zhang Tianyuan oversaw the completion and initial testing of Pangu, whose systems placed far greater strain on pilots than expected. With all nine pilots exhausted before the tests were halfway done, he asked to experience a neural Drift himself.

  • Taylor struggled to understand why Zhang Tianyuan would not intervene as Ning Jihua began private talks with him.
  • Old Pan explained how the team would measure the neural computing power needed to operate Pangu’s systems and described his record-breaking result of 131.
  • Pangu’s construction finished, and Mako Mori led the technicians and pilots into the mecha to begin testing.
  • Raleigh’s neural strain hit its limit when reactor data was uploaded, and the team rotated through all nine pilots as they tested Pangu’s systems.
  • Mako Mori concluded that operating Pangu might require at least six people, so Zhang Tianyuan asked to experience a neural Drift.

Ch. 207Has It Started Already?

Zhang Tianyuan tested his neural processing power by connecting to a Jaeger's central system through a Drift. Although the initial connection caused him no discomfort, the system displayed a negative processing-power reading, leaving Mako Mori alarmed.

  • Zhang Tianyuan went ahead with a Drift test despite Old Pan and Taylor's concerns, and Ning Jihua agreed after Mako Mori said the risks were low.
  • Mako Mori explained the Drift process and fitted Zhang Tianyuan with an operating suit and helmet.
  • Zhang Tianyuan connected to the pilot station, curious whether his enhanced body had increased his neural processing power.
  • Mako Mori assigned 10% of the fusion reactor's operating load, and the system measured Zhang Tianyuan's initial neural processing power at 11.
  • When Mako Mori asked if he felt anything unusual, Zhang Tianyuan said he felt nothing and asked whether the test had started.
  • Mako Mori saw that Zhang Tianyuan's current neural processing power had dropped to -20.

Ch. 208Soaring Neural Computing Power (4K)

Zhang Tianyuan tested a neural drift system and discovered he could link with the Pangu mecha at an unprecedented level, eventually piloting it alone. After safely walking the mecha back, he ended the test feeling physically fine, though his brain seemed more active than before.

  • Mako Mori and the technicians watched Zhang Tianyuan’s neural computing power climb rapidly while his signals remained normal, and he insisted they continue the test.
  • Mako Mori transferred the reactor and mecha systems’ computing loads to the drift system, but Zhang Tianyuan’s capacity continued to outpace the load and reached 9,800.
  • Zhang Tianyuan’s close connection to the Pangu caused the mecha to move when he nodded, briefly shaking the cockpit and its safety crew before he steadied it.
  • Zhang Tianyuan moved the fully powered Pangu forward, then followed Old Pan’s warning and piloted it safely back to its original position.
  • The technicians revoked Zhang Tianyuan’s access and helped him leave the cockpit, and he reported no unusual physical effects aside from feeling that his brain was more active.

Ch. 209Finch Wakes Up

Zhang Tianyuan reviewed the successful Pangu Drift System test, assigned the new Jaeger base to Moyulan, and allowed Taylor’s branch to help build and maintain it. In San Francisco, Finch woke from a month-long coma in a hospital and began to wonder whether civilization had been rebuilt.

  • Zhang Tianyuan learned that his neural processing power had continued rising during the Drift test, while Mako Mori reported that Pangu’s systems had performed better than expected.
  • Zhang Tianyuan ordered continued work on Pangu and smaller Jaegers, and said he would bring the team to another spacetime for stronger construction materials.
  • Taylor offered Anchorage Base and its Jaeger Academy, while Ning Jihua argued for Moyulan; Zhang Tianyuan chose Moyulan as the sole Jaeger base and invited Taylor’s branch to participate.
  • Zhang Tianyuan asked about the rescued patients from No. 5 Spacetime and warned Taylor not to experiment on them, including after death.
  • Finch woke in a San Francisco hospital after a month unconscious, removed his breathing tube, and wondered whether civilization had been rebuilt.

Ch. 210The Golden Gate Bridge Is Gone?

Finch woke in another spacetime, where the Mutual Aid Society had arranged free treatment and he and Jeff had become famous. As a monster attack forced San Francisco into shelters, Finch learned that the Golden Gate Bridge had been destroyed in the first attack.

  • Finch woke in a futuristic hospital, learned that his medical care was free, and reunited with Jeff and Goodyear.
  • Jeff explained that the Mutual Aid Society had brought Finch to a world without the solar-storm apocalypse and described how their story had drawn worldwide attention and gifts.
  • Finch accepted Jeff's account after seeing a photograph of them on the Golden Gate Bridge and asked to explore this world's San Francisco.
  • A monster-attack alarm sent Finch, Jeff, and Goodyear into an underground shelter, where a broadcast announced that the Mutual Aid Society and PPDC would respond.
  • Finch heard that a monster had destroyed San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge during its first attack in 2013 and stood stunned.

Ch. 211The Bizarre Kaiju

After months without kaiju attacks, several enormous Category 5 kaiju emerged from the wormhole, prompting Zhang Tianyuan and the PPDC to launch the plan to destroy it. As one kaiju flew toward San Francisco and another headed for Hong Kong, an unknown force brought down the helicopters tracking the Hong Kong-bound monster.

  • Tendo Choi detected multiple kaiju emerging from the wormhole and alerted the Shatterdome and Zhang Tianyuan.
  • Zhang Tianyuan and Old Pan recalled the pilots and sent four Jaegers through Spacetime Tunnels to carry out the Plan to Nuke the Wormhole.
  • The first kaiju took flight, and Old Pan redirected Crimson Typhoon to intercept it near San Francisco.
  • Tendo Choi reported that a fourth kaiju, estimated to be 140 meters long, was heading toward Hong Kong.
  • Zhang Tianyuan suspected the Hong Kong-bound kaiju had a special ability, and Tendo Choi reported that an unknown force had crashed the tracking helicopters into the sea.

Ch. 212Codename Horn

After monster number three brought down helicopters with powerful sonic attacks, the PPDC codenamed it Horn and assessed its growing threat to Hong Kong. With Hong Kong, San Francisco, and the Plan to Nuke the Wormhole all at risk, Zhang Tianyuan proposed using Pangu, whose defenses could withstand sonic attacks.

  • Tendo Choi reported that helicopters had crashed after a piercing noise overwhelmed their communications, and Old Pan reviewed recordings showing the crews losing consciousness.
  • Mako Mori explained that Horn could be using noise, infrasound, and ultrasound, while Zhang Tianyuan identified the monster as the source of the attack.
  • Old Pan codenamed the approaching monster Horn and ordered close reconnaissance; Zhang Tianyuan also arranged for more satellites to track it.
  • Mako Mori estimated Horn was 168 meters long, emitted 130-decibel noise at five kilometers, and could expand its attack range as its back structures vibrated more strongly.
  • The group weighed protecting Hong Kong against leaving San Francisco or the Plan to Nuke the Wormhole exposed, and Zhang Tianyuan suggested deploying Pangu because it could withstand sonic attacks.

Ch. 213Following Your Orders!

Zhang Tianyuan decided to take Pangu toward the incoming kaiju Horn and capture it rather than fight it, despite Ning Jihua and Taylor's concerns. As Hong Kong and San Francisco prepared for the attack, residents placed their faith in the Jaegers and the Mutual Aid Society.

  • Zhang Tianyuan told Old Pan and Mako Mori to prepare Pangu and help him track the kaiju's route, and they saluted before leaving for Moyulan Base.
  • Ning Jihua stopped arguing after Zhang Tianyuan made up his mind, while Taylor remained opposed to the risk.
  • Hong Kong began evacuating as the kaiju Horn approached, and a public announcement warned citizens about its sonic attacks.
  • Crimson Typhoon arrived through a Spacetime Tunnel above San Francisco to await Flying Squirrel, and Finch heard a resident praise the Mutual Aid Society for helping prevent kaiju from breaking into cities.

Ch. 214Pangu Goes into Action

Finch reconsidered Jeff’s future after learning about the Mutual Aid Society, while the Jaeger teams debated how to defend Hong Kong from an approaching monster. Zhang Tianyuan and Mako Mori launched Pangu to assist, leaving for the battle after receiving permission to sortie.

  • Finch declined the middle-aged man’s invitation to join the Mutual Aid Society and decided to remove Jeff’s fourth law so Jeff could pursue a larger future.
  • The Jaeger pilots learned that a monster was heading toward Hong Kong, and Zhang Qing asked to withdraw Gipsy Danger from the seabed mission to help defend the city.
  • Tendo Choi told the pilots to wait for orders as Chuck and Sasha argued that their Jaegers could complete the mission without Gipsy Danger.
  • Old Pan revealed that Pangu’s signal came from a Jaeger someone could pilot, and Zhang Tianyuan prepared to sortie from Moyulan Base.
  • Mako Mori joined Zhang Tianyuan in Pangu’s cockpit as a reserve pilot, connected the Jaeger to Hong Kong’s Shatterdome, and received Tendo Choi’s permission to launch.

Ch. 215Justice from above

Zhang Tianyuan took Pangu through a Spacetime Tunnel and ambushed the monster-Horn from above, then fought it underwater when it feigned unconsciousness. He left the monster badly injured and began plucking the vocal cords from its back.

  • Tendo Choi told the other mechs that Zhang Tianyuan had taken Pangu out alone, astonishing Crimson Typhoon and the pilots on the ocean floor.
  • Zhang Qing and the other pilots continued toward the wormhole after spotting its glow ahead.
  • Zhang Tianyuan and Mako Mori deployed in Pangu, which fell through a Spacetime Tunnel and struck the monster-Horn from above.
  • Tendo Choi detected the monster beneath the surface, and Zhang Tianyuan found it apparently unconscious before it unleashed sonic waves.
  • Zhang Tianyuan struck the monster's head with Pangu's giant axe, subdued it, and began plucking its vocal cords.

Ch. 216An Unfavorable Battle (1/2, 3K)

Zhang Tianyuan disabled Horn by tearing out its vocal cords and decided to bring the monster ashore alive for study. After hearing that the other battles were going badly, he took Pangu to support the Wei Brothers in San Francisco, where Flying Squirrel had begun attacking Crimson Typhoon.

  • Zhang Tianyuan tore out Horn's vocal cords, leaving it too weak to fight, and planned to preserve its body for research.
  • Mako Mori reported that the wormhole and San Francisco fronts were both struggling against their monsters.
  • A powerful monster struck Gipsy Danger and sent Striker Eureka flying underwater, prompting Herc to lead an attempt to stop the next monster from emerging through the wormhole.
  • Flying Squirrel appeared over San Francisco, and Tendo Choi warned the Wei Brothers that Crimson Typhoon had little chance of winning and must stop the monster from flying onward.
  • Flying Squirrel charged at Crimson Typhoon as the Wei Brothers prepared to fight, and Zhang Tianyuan brought Pangu to the surface to support them while holding Horn.

Ch. 217Heroes Take the Stage

The Wei Brothers struggled to defend San Francisco in Crimson Typhoon, but Flying Squirrel overwhelmed them and destroyed the mecha’s left arm. Zhang Tianyuan arrived in Pangu, pulled Flying Squirrel away from Typhoon, and left both monsters down on the beach as the Wei Brothers realized they had been rescued.

  • Flying Squirrel battered Crimson Typhoon, and the Wei Brothers struggled to damage the monster or keep the mecha functioning.
  • Flying Squirrel spread its wings to trap Typhoon, then struck its plasma cannon with its tongue and destroyed the mecha’s left arm.
  • People panicked in the underground shelter until Finch spotted a new gold-and-red mecha on the television and called everyone’s attention to it.
  • Zhang Tianyuan arrived in Pangu, released Horn, and grabbed Flying Squirrel by the throat.
  • Zhang Tianyuan hurled Flying Squirrel beside Horn, giving the damaged Crimson Typhoon a chance to recover.

Ch. 218An Easy Double Kill (1/2, 3K)

Zhang Tianyuan piloted Pangu to defeat Horn and Flying Squirrel in San Francisco, while the city watched the Jaeger's capabilities revealed on live television. After the emergency ended and residents left the shelters, Finch and Jeff continued searching the hospital.

  • The Wei Brothers learned Pangu had arrived to rescue them, and Zhang Tianyuan told them to stay back as he confronted both monsters.
  • Zhang Tianyuan struck Flying Squirrel with Pangu's axe, badly injuring him, then charged Horn and struck him down after Mako Mori warned Horn might escape.
  • A reporter identified Pangu as a new-generation Jaeger piloted by Zhang Tianyuan and described its capabilities, including miniature nuclear fusion power.
  • Zhang Tianyuan crushed Flying Squirrel's neck after Horn's vital signs ceased, and Mako Mori confirmed both monsters were dead.
  • Tendo Choi reported the kills, crews began neutralizing the monsters' blue blood, and San Francisco lifted its state of emergency; Finch and Jeff continued looking around the hospital.

Ch. 219Drawing the Giant Axe Again

Zhang Tianyuan learned that the Jaegers were losing the underwater battle against Scunner and entered the Mariana Trench to reinforce them. He intercepted Scunner’s charge, then drew the giant axe as the monster prepared another attack.

  • At Shatterdome, Zhang Tianyuan asked about the seabed battle and learned that Striker Eureka had lost its fighting ability, Cherno Alpha was badly damaged, and Gipsy Danger was the only Jaeger still mobile.
  • Raleigh and Zhang Qing struggled to fight Scunner, whose water jets knocked the Jaegers down, while Herc, Chuck, Sasha, and their partners considered abandoning the mission.
  • The Jaeger pilots requested to return, but Tendo Choi told them to keep holding on because reinforcements were coming.
  • Scunner charged at Gipsy Danger, but Zhang Tianyuan arrived and blocked the monster with the giant axe on his Jaeger’s back.
  • Scunner recovered and formed another current, and Zhang Tianyuan drew the giant axe to face it.

Ch. 220Back to Antarctica (1/2)

Zhang Tianyuan used Pangu’s Spacetime Tunnels to take Scunner from the seabed to Antarctica, where the freezing cold immobilized the monster. After Pangu reconnected with the Shatterdome Base and arranged for Scunner’s recovery, Zhang Tianyuan asked how the battle on the seabed was going.

  • Mako Mori warned Zhang Tianyuan that Scunner was preparing a water attack, and Zhang Tianyuan advanced toward the monster while waiting for the right moment.
  • As Scunner unleashed its water blast, Zhang Tianyuan opened two Spacetime Tunnels and jumped with the monster to Antarctica, leaving Raleigh and Zhang Qing unable to find Pangu or Scunner.
  • Zhang Tianyuan found Scunner frozen and trapped in the Antarctic ice, and decided to leave it alive in case it could later help with the wormhole.
  • Mako Mori reconnected Pangu with the base and sent its coordinates, while Tendo Choi arranged for a recovery team to collect Scunner.
  • Zhang Tianyuan asked Tendo Choi about the seabed situation, and Tendo Choi said Gipsy Danger had begun carrying out the plan.

Ch. 221Fire!

Zhang Tianyuan returned to the seafloor to help the Jaegers carry out the plan to nuke the wormhole, but kaiju number four emerged before Gipsy Danger could complete the positioning mission. Pangu struggled against the enormous kaiju, then trapped it and prepared to fire its concealed plasma cannons.

  • Zhang Tianyuan returned to the seafloor and learned that Gipsy Danger, Cherno Alpha, and Striker Eureka planned to push kaiju number four back through the wormhole while completing the positioning mission.
  • Zhang Tianyuan sent Cherno Alpha and its pilots back to safety, then carried the damaged Striker Eureka and its nuclear bomb toward the wormhole.
  • Zhang Tianyuan taunted kaiju number four while waiting for Gipsy Danger, but the creature escaped the wormhole and charged at Pangu.
  • Zhang Tianyuan fought kaiju number four with Pangu, using its rocket boosters and electric bayonets while Gipsy Danger came to assist.
  • Zhang Tianyuan grabbed kaiju number four to keep it from pulling away and activated Pangu’s concealed I-24 Plasma Cannons.
