Personality

Xiao Xiao is initially shy around Cao Yu, blushing and lowering her gaze when he looks at her. Despite this, she gathers the courage to confess her feelings and agrees to pursue him herself. Learning that he is already a Soul Elder strengthens her determination rather than discouraging her 56 59.

She takes teamwork seriously. Before the freshman assessment, she challenges Cao Yu and Wang Dong’s assumption that they can simply overpower everyone, pointing out that other classes have elite teams and that coordinated tactics will be necessary 59.

Her affection can become openly possessive: she clings to Cao Yu’s arm in front of other interested girls and competes with Luo Yan for his attention. Nevertheless, she acknowledges that his childhood fiancées were involved with him before she was and sometimes keeps her jealousy to herself 81 104 106.

History

Freshman Assessment

Zhou Yi assigns Xiao Xiao to a three-person team with Cao Yu and Wang Dong. After class, she asks Cao Yu to speak privately and confesses her feelings beside Sea God Lake. He asks her to pursue him, and they seal their agreement with a pinky swear 56.

In the assessment, Xiao Xiao supports Wang Dong against Huang Chutian and later defeats three Agility Attack System opponents with her cauldrons. Against Xie Huanyue, however, her attacks fail to penetrate his defenses, exposing her vulnerability at close range 66 67 68 79.

She subsequently takes the lead against another team with Wang Dong supporting her and Cao Yu watching, helping their team reach the final four. After the competition, Cao Yu gives her a Soul Bone; she kisses him, and they explicitly become boyfriend and girlfriend. He also tells her about his childhood engagements and Luo Yan’s interest in him 80 84.

Second Year and the Reserve Team

After the holiday, Xiao Xiao greets Cao Yu by jumping into his arms, then spends the afternoon walking with him around Sea God Lake. She resumes academy life and participates in Elder Xuan’s combat training 101 108.

Before the Shrek group leaves for Star Luo City, Cao Yu invites her to visit his home. Nervous about meeting his parents, she insists on bringing gifts. At the Cao Clan residence, she presents jewelry and fine wine, and Cao Yu introduces her as his classmate and future wife 112 116.

Xiao Xiao attends the Soul Fighting Tournament as part of Shrek’s reserve team and returns to the academy after Shrek wins the championship 128.

Shrek Seven Devils

Years later, Xiao Xiao publicly declares that she sincerely loves Cao Yu and reveals that she pursued him first. She also participates in the Shrek Seven Devils’ preparations for the next tournament 202 207.

During a practice match, she and her teammates defeat Han Ruoruo’s team through coordinated attacks and layered control effects. In the later tournament battle against the Sun Moon Royal Soul Engineer Academy, she alternates flute debuffs with cauldron defenses before Cao Yu’s Level 8 Soul Tool Turret secures Shrek’s victory 210 231.

Teaching and Married Life

Xiao Xiao later works as a teacher. When Cao Yu asks about her day, she reports that a few students were mischievous but that her teaching otherwise went smoothly.
