This wasn't the first time Qingmu had entered Mama Yao's dream. However, searching for a person's entire memory within their dream was no easy task, let alone finding that hidden area that even her own consciousness couldn't locate.
Just like last time, Qingmu first guided Mama Yao in her dream to recall the cat from her childhood, but Mama Yao couldn't remember it no matter what. So, her own subconscious began to search her memory incessantly.
In the hazy, dreamlike void at the edge of the dream, Mama Yao left behind flickering traces as she searched her memories, like stars on a summer night.
In this bright starry sky, Qingmu saw a dark region.
The area wasn't large; it resembled a black moon, or perhaps a black hole would be more accurate. Because Mama Yao's dream space was limited, the black hole seemed almost within reach.
Qingmu knew that was the encrypted hidden area; as long as he gently touched it with his Mental Power, the white cat guarding the area would come out.
Sure enough, the black hole suddenly disappeared, replaced by a dazzling white expanse.
The cat, covered in soft white fur, shone brightly in the dark void, like snow in a Siberia winter. Its eyes were as clear and green as sapphires, and its black pupils were like black pearls set in sapphires. It sat there in a noble and elegant posture, with only its small, pink lips and nose adding a touch of cuteness.
The white cat saw Qingmu and, just like last time, unleashed a powerful burst of Mental Power. But it also seemed to recognize Qingmu; despite unleashing its full Mental Power, it showed no intention of attacking, instead looking at him with a hint of curiosity.
Qingmu didn't know if this cat could think independently. Logically speaking, it was just an external consciousness, and without its own memories, it couldn't form independent thoughts unless it borrowed Mama Yao's memories. But that would be like an invading consciousness, creating a mental conflict with Mama Yao, either replacing her or causing her to become schizophrenic.
Qingmu attempted to communicate with the cat through consciousness.
In most people's dreams, communication takes place through language, which is a reconstruction of the dream after we wake up. In reality, conscious communication itself does not require language, but the language area of our brain is involved in conscious activity, so conscious communication is reflected in language.
Qingmu communicated with the cat through consciousness, telling it that he meant no harm and that he was there to help Mama Yao. The cat seemed to understand, its Mental Power release decreased significantly, and its appearance softened. Although it was still cool, it wasn't as cold anymore. However, it still refused to give up protecting this memory area.
After several unsuccessful attempts to communicate, Qingmu tried to subdue the white cat through mental pressure, forcing it to move aside.
The moment Qingmu released a large amount of his Mental Power, the white cat's fur bristled, its size increased several times, its back arched like a hedgehog, and its Mental Power stabbed towards Qingmu like a sharp sword.
Qingmu was not afraid of cats, but he had to protect Mama Yao's dream and consciousness from any disturbances. Otherwise, if Mama Yao's dream collapsed, he would not be able to enter her restricted area, and he might even damage Mama Yao's brain, which would be a great loss.
The cat clearly shared the same idea as Qingmu, and instead of unleashing its full Mental Power, it used some of its strength to protect Mama Yao's consciousness and the dream space.
The release of Qingmu and the white cat's Mental Power continuously expanded the space, while Mama Yao's dream remained at its original size.
The white cat's body grew larger and larger, like an ancient behemoth hovering in the void, capable of swallowing stars whole. Qingmu's body also grew to an enormous size, like a Titan. The two faced off, neither willing to yield, yet both hesitant to make a decisive move due to the fear of the collapse of the primordial space.
Qingmu wanted to see the limit of the white cat's Mental Power, but the cat's Mental Power clearly exceeded his expectations. If it continued to expand, it might no longer be able to protect Mama Yao's dream and her consciousness.
Faced with such Mental Power, Mama Yao's dream was like a fragile glass, which could shatter at the slightest carelessness. It's not difficult to hold a glass in place normally. But when you become a Titan and fight another Titan, how can you possibly control a small glass?
Moreover, the aftershocks of the Mental Power could potentially affect people in the real world, such as Yao Jingjing, who is currently standing in front of Mama Yao's bedside.
The white cat initially shared Qingmu's concerns, but Qingmu noticed a clear instability in its Mental Power. This instability wasn't due to insufficient Mental Power, but rather because its consciousness perceived extreme danger and the possibility of self-destruction.
Qingmu understood that this cat was merely a pure consciousness with a mission. Its task was to protect that hidden area in Mama Yao's brain and prevent anyone from knowing its secrets. If it realized it couldn't protect it, it might resort to drastic measures, such as mental self-destruction.
Mental self-destruction is somewhat like what we often call self-destruction, but mental consciousness is not matter, so it is not a real explosion. However, given this cat's powerful Mental Power, once it self-destructs, the resulting mental impact could potentially erase all of Mama Yao's memories from her entire brain, and even damage the brains of Yao Jingjing by the bedside and Papa Yao who is washing dishes in the kitchen.
When the cat's consciousness was injected into Mama Yao's brain, this idea may have been planted in her mind—that when it could no longer protect this area, it should destroy it.
After Qingmu realized this, he stopped using his Mental Power to suppress the white cat and instead maintained a relatively balanced state with it. Once the white cat's mental fluctuations had stabilized, he summoned the Crow.
As soon as the Crow appeared, it cackled, "Hey, hey, hey, why did you grow so big? You're bursting my dream space!"
He perched noisily on the Qingmu, and when he saw the white cat opposite him, the Crow froze. After a long while, it puffed out its throat as if swallowing something, then excitedly cawed, "Wow, so white! Guagua!"
Before Qingmu could say anything, the Crow left his head and flew towards the white cat.
The cat seemed to have been provoked; it bristled and its fur stood on end, its Mental Power suddenly bursting forth.
The Crow was startled and quickly flapped its wings, soaring into the sky like a roc, thus avoiding the cat's spiritual sword.
Qingmu also had to release more of his Mental Power to maintain the balance between himself and the cat.
The Crow Guagua twice in the air and asked, "Beautiful white cat, my name is Boss Coal, what's your name?"
The cat arched its back, its fur standing on end, and glared fiercely at the Crow.
The Crow said, "Hey, hey, your feathers standing on end don't look good. Put it down, put it down, caw!"
Whether the cat understood the Crow's words or felt there was no danger, it indeed tucked its bristling fur.
" Guagua, caw, that's it!" The Crow circled above the cat's head. "Your fur is so white, your eyes are so blue, like jewels, yes, jewels! You're the most beautiful cat I've ever seen. Will you be my girlfriend? Caw..."
