From the moment Mrs. Larry wrote those words on the ground, Qingmu had a feeling of familiarity.
He remembered that he could speak many languages, and he only realized he could use them when he needed to. Now, seeing these primitive and unique characters, Qingmu felt an itchy, uncomfortable sensation, as if insects were crawling in his mind. He felt something was about to emerge from a very deep part of his mind.
This was already giving him a bit of a headache, but after listening to Mrs. Larry's long and complicated views on the relationship between writing and the progress of civilization, his head started to ache even more.
Crow hopped onto his head, scratched his hair with its claws, and said, "Hey, are you having another episode? Sigh, if you have a bad memory, don't think too much!"
Su Huilan was the most learned person present besides Mrs. Larry. After hearing Mrs. Larry's words, she understood what she meant. "Madam, are you saying that the writing you saw on the altar was the precursor to hieroglyphics?"
Mrs. Larry smiled at her and said, "There are two ways in which mature writing systems originated. One is that they gradually developed from immature writing systems, and the other is that they separated from a more mature language system. Current archaeological evidence cannot find any origin or evolution of Ancient Egypt hieroglyphs. It seems to have appeared suddenly and remained unchanged for three thousand years from the Predynastic Period to the Ptolemaic dynasty. Therefore, we speculate that this writing system did not evolve independently, but rather broke away from another mature writing system."
However, this conjecture is not accepted by mainstream academia because civilizations on almost every piece of land in the world have now been discovered, and there is no longer any soil left to provide the time and space for a civilization more advanced than Ancient Egypt to survive.
"Now this special island has shown you the possibility of another undiscovered civilization existing, hasn't it?" Su Huilan said.
Mrs. Larry nodded and said, "That's right. Even without written evidence, I believe it's related to Ancient Egypt civilization. Think about it, why did we come here?"
"Pyramids!" Alice blurted out.
"Yes!" Mrs. Larry nodded, then said to Su Huilan, "I'm sorry that our scientific expedition has not only caused trouble, but has also affected you. I think you all know the purpose of our trip. Before this, Professor Silva's expedition team discovered an inverted pyramid on the seabed of the South Pacific that is almost identical to the Great Pyramid of Egypt, and it is located at a point of symmetry at the Earth's center."
The research vessel encountered a series of strange phenomena at sea. Pardik said that this area might be covered by unstable wormholes or higher-dimensional bubbles. "Our experience just now proves that we haven't left this special space, and I did indeed see a pyramid in that altar."
"You see the pyramids?"
"Yes." Mrs. Larry looked up, as if she could see those floating stones again. "I don't know why the stones in the altar floated up, but they just happened to complete the unfinished shape of the altar, forming a pyramid. Not only that, there was also an inverted pyramid that jutted down. The light shone through the gaps between the stones, and I saw these writings in the moonlight. Besides the writing, there were some patterns on the ground."
Mrs. Larry then picked up a twig and drew the two opposing triangles, "This is right in the very center of the altar; it's exactly the same mark as the one Professor Silva photographed from the underwater ruins."
When they saw the mark, Qingmu and Su Huilan were both startled. Petru also looked up at them, knowing that the mark was related to the Alliance Su Huilan had mentioned.
However, none of them spoke. It's not something that can be explained in a few words to those Awakened, as the concepts of Mental Power and subconscious awakening cannot be fully grasped in a few sentences.
Mrs. Larry continued, "Because the Pyramid of Khufu is in Egypt, the archaeological data about it is very complete, and there is nothing to doubt. Since the underwater pyramid is exactly the same as the Pyramid of Khufu in shape and size, we naturally assume that it was also built by the Egypt."
Therefore, we propose another hypothesis: if Egypt migrated to the South Pacific three or four thousand years ago, then the people of the Southern Islands should have Ancient Egypt ancestry. That is to say, from Polynesia to the Malay Archipelago, including Māori, Samoans, Tongans, Tuvaluans, Hawaiians, Tahitians, Tokelauans, Cook Islanders, and even Southeast Asia groups within the Malay race, there should be Ancient Egypt ancestry distributed among them.
This perfectly explains the long-debated origins of the Malay race; the only missing piece was genetic evidence. Before our departure, several gene sequencing projects targeting Egypt the Mummy had already been initiated. This project was no simple task, as the Mummy gene extraction is extremely difficult, and many of the Mummy might be fake. However, that's no longer important, because the discovery of these inscriptions means that our past thinking may have completely reversed.
"The opposite direction?" Alice didn't understand why she said that.
Mrs. Larry explained, "The two pyramids are exactly the same, so why wasn't the one on the Pacific Ocean seabed built first, and the one on the Nile built later?"
"Ah?" Alice exclaimed in surprise. "You mean that someone built an inverted pyramid in the sea first, and then the Egypt built a replica in the desert?"
Su Huilan also expressed her confusion. "However, the Egypt pyramids were continuously improved with the progress of civilization, reaching their peak during the Fourth Dynasty, which led to the Pyramid of Khufu."
"That's what I've been wondering about too," Mrs. Larry said. "But it's not inexplicable. First, we need to figure out the exact relationship between this place and Ancient Egypt. From these texts, we can see that there was once a very sophisticated civilization here. Egypt civilization might be a branch that flowed out from here, and even the Maya civilization and ancient China civilizations could be branches that flowed out from here. Judging from the form of the writing, this possibility is very high."
"But... this place is full of savages, they're still living in the era of eating raw meat and drinking blood!" Alice shuddered at the thought of cannibalism. "How could such a place have such advanced writing? And if they had advanced writing, how could their civilization be so backward?"
Mrs. Larry said, "Have you forgotten the apocalyptic visions we just experienced?"
Alice's body trembled, and the image of the enormous moon in the sky flashed into her mind; the terrifying scene made her feel suffocated just thinking about it.
"I understand. Their space is unstable, so their civilization is difficult to preserve for long. But if that's the case, how did they develop in the first place?"
"There are many possibilities. Have you forgotten the Great Flood described in Genesis? Almost every ancient civilization in the world has a legend about a great flood. But before yesterday, who among you saw a real flood? A real apocalypse?"
Perhaps this space was stable in the distant past, until it was destroyed by a great flood thousands of years ago, just as recorded in Genesis. They sailed the ark, scattering the seeds of civilization to another land, while the relics of civilization, including the Pyramid, were forever sunk to the bottom of the sea...
Before Mrs. Larry could finish speaking, Qingmu, who had been silent and lost in thought, suddenly interjected:
"Perhaps this distorted space with its own wormhole was their ' Noah's Ark,' which they used to traverse the sea of stars to reach the desolate Earth and establish a new home..."
He looked up at the sky through the dense foliage, " Noah's Ark... it's just a wandering planet!"
Everyone looked at him in surprise; the idea was clearly unexpected, yet they felt there was nothing to refute it.
Qingmu didn't explain anything, but instead turned to look at the writing on the ground. He frowned, rubbed his temples in pain, and said:
"I think... I can understand a little bit..."
