The Boss Coal suddenly jumped down from the top of the Qingmu, circled Qingmu three times on the ground, then flew up and circled it three times in the air before stopping in front of him and Guagua at him:
"On behalf of the boss lady, I demand you confess honestly, quack—are you an alien log from Orion Canis Major Horsehead Star of Orion who traveled to Earth? If so, Guagua, will you experience reproductive isolation with humans?... Quack, don't look at me like that! For Ruhua's happiness, please answer this bird's question!"
Qingmu said, " Orion doesn't have the Canis Major Nebula. Canis Major is a constellation adjacent to Orion, and Orion doesn't have Horsehead Star, only the Horsehead Nebula."
The Crow raised its head, its wingtips supporting its beak, and let out a thoughtful cawing. "Um... no need to be so serious, quack!" Suddenly, it turned to look at Qingmu and said, "Wait a minute, quack, when did you become so clear-headed? Didn't you used to be unable to distinguish between RMB and ghost money? How come you know so much about Orion's situation? Oh, this proves my guess was correct, you—you're from Orion!"
"So where did you come from?" Su Huilan asked.
The Crow was stunned. "Uh... uh... uh... I..." It thought for a long time, "I don't remember!"
"You two are about the same," Su Huilan laughed. "If he's a monster that flew over from the Great Orion Nebula, then you're the monster among monsters!"
"Caw..." The Crow tilted its head and looked at Su Huilan. "Little vixen, don't try to put me down just because I'm helping Ruhua! Catching a rich guy is about skill. Ruhua you're so capable, cook me a nice meal to shut me up, and I won't bother with your mess anymore!"
Su Huilan was exasperated by the Boss Coal, but she couldn't afford to argue with a bird, so she glared at Qingmu. Qingmu, however, was still focused on the writing on the ground. After a while, he scratched his forehead and said to Mrs. Larry, "Madam, if this is a sophisticated encoding method, why am I only seeing fragments?"
"There are many possibilities—the information is encrypted, the information is incomplete, or my record is inaccurate, etc.," Mrs. Larry analyzed. "The more advanced the language, the higher its fault tolerance. The proportion of typos or missing words allowed in a language is higher in Chinese than in other languages. In the same article, twenty misspelled words in English might lead to ambiguity, and in French it's even worse; ten misspelled words might make it unreadable. But in Chinese, fifty misspelled words are still understandable. In computer coding, however, if even one 0 or 1 is wrong, the entire program might crash due to the error."
Three-dimensional encoded information theoretically has a higher fault tolerance rate, so it is generally not afraid of missing information. Even if my recording is inaccurate, it won't be so bad that you can't understand it at all. So the more likely reasons are the first two: information encryption and its integrity.
The encoding of three-dimensional information may not be based on individual words as in two-dimensional encoding, but rather on a holistic approach. It's like building a complex 3D model with blocks; all the key blocks must be present for the structure to function. If a house is missing a foundation piece, the building itself won't stand; you'll only see a pile of building materials and won't be able to identify what they are.
"But aren't the characters you wrote on the ground also separate characters?"
"Perhaps it's just a projection of three-dimensional language onto a two-dimensional plane."
"Since it's a projection, shouldn't most of the meaning in the original information encoding have been lost?"
"If it were a projection, it should look like this. But what you're seeing are fragments of information, which is a bit strange. Logically, when you look at the shadow of an object, you shouldn't see a bunch of molecular materials that make up that object."
"Whatever you see, your mind is extraordinary," Su Huilan said with no small amount of envy.
"Could he really be a four-dimensional monster?" Alice's eyes widened with curiosity.
Mrs. Larry laughed and said, "Different languages use different functional areas of the brain. For example, the brain functional area for most languages is Wernicke's area in the left superior temporal gyrus, but when using Chinese, the activity level of Wernicke's area is very low, while the activity level of Broca's area behind the left middle frontal gyrus is significantly increased, which is closer to the motor center of the brain."
We don't know what three-dimensional language looks like, or how the human brain would remember and distinguish this information, but it's unlikely to be located in the same language functional areas we commonly use now. It might even use some dormant areas that our research has never touched, and Mr. Qingmu's area just happens to be awake."
Qingmu thought Mrs. Larry's explanation was more plausible. His brain must have been dormant all along. Many memories were clearly there, but he couldn't retrieve them, not even his subconscious could, to the point that he couldn't even dream. But sometimes, when he needed them, something would suddenly pop into his mind.
He greatly admired Mrs. Larry's knowledge. Although Petru didn't talk about what happened in the savage tribe, and everyone tacitly kept quiet about it, everyone could guess what Mrs. Larry had gone through. The brilliance of her humanity could illuminate all the dark corners of the world.
"Madam, it's an honor to meet you," Qingmu said.
Mrs. Larry smiled and said, "It's an honor to meet you all. It's a pity I can't see what you're seeing, otherwise I might be able to help you analyze it."
Qingmu said, "Actually, it's not difficult for you to see it; I have a way."
"Oh, what method?"
"Dream."
"Dreaming? You mean you can hypnotize me into a dream state and then transmit what you see to me through your subconscious?"
"Yes, madam. However..." Qingmu suddenly remembered what Mrs. Larry had just experienced. Although she supported her body with faith and kept her soul from being polluted, the trauma she suffered in body and mind was objectively real, and this pain would be magnified in her dreams.
He didn't want a great woman who had just returned from hell to earth to recall that pain, so he said, "Madam, you are still very weak. Let's talk about it later."
Mrs. Larry seemed to understand his intention, and smiled gratefully, saying, "Very well, since this information is now only a projection. I estimate there are other places on this island where this script can be found, and we can study it then."
"Wait a minute!" Alice suddenly exclaimed, "Mr. Qingmu, you just mentioned Noah's Ark traversing the stars to establish a home. If you didn't deduce that from these texts, how could you have said those things?"
This was the question on everyone's mind, and everyone looked at Qingmu, waiting for his answer.
Qingmu thought for a moment and said, "I don't know either. It's like a sudden flashback. The first time I looked at these words, they felt very familiar, and then I saw many three-dimensional fragments. When the lady mentioned the Great Flood and the Ark, this flashback appeared in my mind, like a movie scene. I almost thought I could fully decipher the meaning of these words, but it only flashed for a moment and then disappeared."
You might not believe it, but my mind is a mess right now, like... a hot pot... These words your wife wrote are the ingredients. I know they're edible, but I can't name them, and I don't know how to eat them. I can only watch them boil in the pot."
The Crow cawed excitedly, "Caw, hot pot!" It hopped over to the words, cawing as it circled around them, "Where's the hot pot? Want some beef? Meatballs... duck intestines or something! Caw, buddy, don't mess with me, where's the hot pot?"
Everyone burst into laughter at his antics, except for Hanran, who followed behind him, meowing Hanran.
The Boss Coal was truly starving, but no one cared about his stomach at that moment. He raised his neck and cried out in heartbreaking grief, "Ru--Hua--, I've missed you so much! My braised pork knuckle!"
