Petru had just learned from Alice that Yeg was Mrs. Larry's deceased husband. He was very unhappy that Situ mentioned Yeg and reopened Mrs. Larry's wounds, but Situ's demeanor prevented him from getting angry.
Ivan and Boris, who were with Situ, also came over to meet them. Everyone was very friendly, like family members meeting again. On this deserted island, where they didn't even know if they were still on Earth, and they didn't know if those savages were human, seeing a normal person was something to be happy about.
However, when Boris heard Petru's name, he suddenly became agitated and shouted, "You're Redbeard? You fucking Redbeard! Laozi 'll kill you! If you hadn't stolen Laozi ship, Laozi be living the high life on Lake Baikal by now!"
Petru was completely bewildered. Before he could react, Boris had already pounced on him. The two rolled onto the grass nearby, and after a few tumbles, Boris was pinned down by Petru, a gun pressed against his forehead.
Petru yelled, "Fuck! What the Laozi Laozi? So what if we're Russia? You think I don't Laozi? Fuck you, go back to your grandma's grizzly bear!"
Although Boris was being pressured by Petru, he refused to back down. Holding a grenade in one hand and with his fingers inside the pin of the other, he cursed, "Shoot me! You bastard! We'd all die together! You stole Laozi ship! I finally got to do something big, and you, you Laozi, got the better end of it!"
The two men were locked in a tense standoff, the situation appearing extremely dangerous. Whether Petru fired or Boris pulled the trigger, it would have catastrophic consequences.
But Situ didn't seem to care about stopping it; he didn't even look at it, as if what was happening there had nothing to do with him, and that the grenade explosion wouldn't hurt him.
Ivan had originally intended to stop Boris, but seeing Situ's appearance, he held back. Situ was originally his employer, and although Situ had said that their mission would be complete after the submarine's torpedoes were launched, in the meticulous Ivan's view, his mission was not considered complete until Situ was sent back to the mainland.
After a series of changes, Ivan trusted Situ more and more. Although he didn't know exactly what Situ was doing, he could tell that it was no small matter. He believed that Situ's decisions were correct, and indeed they were. So far, Situ had not made any mistakes.
Qingmu and Su Huilan certainly wouldn't stop Petru, because they weren't familiar with the guy on the ground, and Boris was holding a grenade at the moment. Who knew if Petru would impulsively throw the grenade if he let go of him?
Although they could use their Mental Power, neither of Situ wanted to do so when they first met Situ. It was like two unparalleled masters meeting for the first time; neither of them would draw their swords just because some thugs were fighting nearby.
Moreover, Qingmu knew that Petru wouldn't suffer a loss; this guy's Mental Power was considerable, and his combat power was incredibly formidable.
Petru and Boris stood there for a while, and seeing that no one was coming to break up the fight, they became a little uneasy. Boris, who was lying on the ground, rolled his eyes and spoke first:
"Hey Redbeard, where the hell did you get all this stuff? Guns and grenades, how did you even get them? We had nothing when we arrived on the island, we were practically naked."
Petru's Redbeard twitched as he said, "You were forced to come to the island, Laozi I came here voluntarily."
"You came up here on your own initiative?" Boris feigned surprise. "What are you doing here?"
"Of course I'm here to rescue you guys on behalf of the United Nations. Laozi wouldn't have bothered if it weren't for rescuing you!" Petru started to lie through his teeth.
Boris said, "You're kidding me. The United Nations, my foot! You're a globally wanted pirate. The United Nations would only come to us for help if everyone else were dead!"
Petru said, "You know what, they're really almost all dead! The Earth is practically being taken over by aliens!"
The two men chatted idly for a while, until their muscles relaxed. Boris pulled his finger out of the grenade's pin, and Petru put his gun away, holding out his hand and saying, "Give me back the grenade."
Boris quickly grabbed Ray's hand and hid it under his waist. "Hey buddy, you're carrying all those jingling things around, it's too cumbersome. Let me carry these for you."
Petru had just loosened his grip and was about to get up from Boris when he pounced on him again, pressing his elbow against Boris's throat and yelling, "Give it back to me, you fucking bastard!"
Boris was struggling to breathe under his weight, but he still wouldn't give in. "Look, you still have... a submachine gun on you, why don't you... give me... your... pistol too..."
Petru was furious and increased the pressure on Boris, causing him to roll his eyes. Anderson, who was standing nearby, finally couldn't take it anymore and said, "Hey, stop it, I have a few grenades here, you can share them."
Petru, seeing that Boris would rather die than hand over the grenade, was at a loss and stood up angrily.
Anderson took a grenade from his pocket and gave it to Boris, who was struggling to his feet, saying, "Here's one for you, you give yours back to Petru."
Anderson happily accepted the gun, but instead of returning it to Petru, he shamelessly said, "I saw he had two more on him. Ivan and I don't have any. I'll give one to Ivan, or maybe we can have a pistol?"
Petru angrily turned his submachine gun around, but then suddenly felt a tightness in his chest. He looked at Qingmu, Qingmu said, "That's it. Give Ivan and Boris each a grenade, and my pistol too." He handed his pistol and magazine to Boris, adding, "From now on, we need everyone to work together. I don't want to see anyone else get hurt."
Su Huilan understood that Qingmu was making his stance clear to Situ, so she also took out her gun, handed it to Ivan, and said, "I don't really need it, you can use it."
Alice took out a grenade. "I feel safe enough now. You can have my grenade too; it would be a waste to keep it for me."
Boris happily snatched the grenade from Alice's hand, as if he had obtained a priceless treasure. Just as he was about to show it off, his mind suddenly went blank, and he was so frightened that he quickly looked at Situ. Situ's face was still full of a spring breeze smile, but Boris didn't dare to move.
Alice did feel much safer than before, which was why she handed over the grenade. But seeing the savages praying in the distance, even though she knew they weren't the same group they'd encountered, she still felt a little uneasy. She asked Situ, " Mr. Stone, may I ask... how did you become the leader of the savages?"
This was a question everyone was curious about, and everyone looked at Situ.
Situ laughed and said, "I am not their leader. I am just their representative in communicating with the gods. In their eyes, I am a priest or a wizard."
"How did you do that?" Alice pressed on.
"For the first few months, we were hiding from cannibals. I was still injured and my Mental Power hadn't recovered. Thanks to Ivan and Boris, we barely survived," Situ said. "Then a disaster struck the island. We were captured by the gravity of a star. While maintaining the stability of space, their priest died. I picked up the priest's dropped scepter and took his place. It's that simple."
"A few months? You mean you've lived here for a few months?" Alice exclaimed. "But that doesn't make sense, we've only been on the island for a few days!"
Situ asked with a smile, "Are you sure you only lasted a few days?"
