The original ancestor of modern domestic cats was likely the Africa wildcat, also known as the desert cat. They were domesticated around 10,000 years ago and became one of the most intelligent species capable of coexisting naturally with humans.
However, it cannot be said that cats have been completely domesticated. Unlike other pets, they do not completely depend on their owners for survival. In other words, in their eyes, humans are not their masters, but just another creature with whom they coexist harmoniously. Just like a chinchilla and a crocodile, the chinchilla can climb into the crocodile's mouth and the crocodile will not harm it, but the chinchilla will not recognize the crocodile as its father.
The Egypt were among the first to worship cats as gods. Many murals depicting Egypt cats can be found in Ancient Egypt temples. As early as the Second Dynasty of Ancient Egypt, the war goddess Bastet was a cat-headed, human-bodied "cat goddess" and was considered the pharaoh's guardian deity.
"But it's a white cat. Egypt doesn't seem to have white cats."
As Yao Jingjing spoke, she opened her phone and searched online for pictures of Egypt cats. Sure enough, they were all Egypt cats with black spots on their bodies, looking like leopards.
Qingmu, however, said, " The Egypt cat's color is at the tips of its fur; the inside is white, like a layer of ink on white fur. If you shave off that layer with a razor, you'll see a pure white cat."
Hearing about the white cat, the Crow put down its braised pork knuckle, flew over to join the fun, and tapped Qingmu on the head, saying, "You know something now, quack?"
But it quickly became sad, lowering its head and muttering, "Sigh, I wonder how Hanran is doing..."
It scratched Qingmu's hair hard with its paws, "We should go and bring Hanran back!"
Qingmu said, "Aren't you afraid you won't have any braised pork knuckle to eat?"
The Crow paused, then said, "Hmm, I'm feeling conflicted right now..."
Qingmu smiled and ignored it, instead asking Yao Jingjing, "Do you know the Great Sphinx?"
"Of course I know."
" Lion are felines, and there's no definitive record that the Great Sphinx is always Lion; it could also be a cat. Of course, the cat god worshipped as the guardian of the pharaoh in Ancient Egypt could also be Lion. Africa has white lions, pure white Lion. They aren't albino; they're a rare species, and the origin of this population remains unclear."
The Crow exclaimed in surprise, "You're saying Ruxue might be a Lion?"
Qingmu said, "Isn't Lion good?"
"That size..." The Crow shook its head. "Oh no, oh no! Guagua..."
No matter what the situation, as long as the Boss Coal gets involved, it becomes funny, making Yao Jingjing laugh out loud. After laughing, she said, "That Ramesses said he came to find the cat of the Holy Land, but he didn't mention the Lion of the Holy Land, so you don't need to worry. Ruxue Xue is probably still a cat. Even if she was once the soul of Lion, she has long since become a cat."
The Crow finally relaxed, flapping its wings against its chest. "That scared me to death!"
Speaking of Ramesses, Yao Jingjing asked Qingmu, "Where do you plan to find him? Is there anything I can do for you?"
Qingmu said, " Ramesses is the Guardian of the Giza Holy Land; he won't be away from Cairo for long. I'll go to Cairo to find him, but before that, I have a few things to take care of."
Yao Jingjing said, "Should we go ahead and make a preliminary trip? I've met him before, so it might be easier to find him."
Qingmu thought for a moment and said, "But after you left, I'm a little worried about the situation in Wuzhong."
Yao Jingjing said, " Wuzhong has been very peaceful these past few years. We've been keeping an eye on Professor Mei's side and the Xia Family, and there are no signs of Parasitic Consciousness activity."
"It's precisely because it's too peaceful that it's abnormal!" Qingmu said. "Let me see Professor Mei before making a decision."
Yao Jingjing, however, didn't take it seriously and chuckled, saying, "You're just worried about Sister Hua, aren't you?"
Just then, Bi Shenghua returned. Hearing her words, she exclaimed, "What do I have to worry about? Go do what you need to do. The earth won't stop spinning just because someone is gone."
Yao Jingjing suppressed a laugh, turned her face away, and whispered to the Crow, "Stubborn!"
The Crow Guagua, "Stubborn! Stubborn!"
Bi Shenghua didn't hear Yao Jingjing's words, but she heard Crow's loud voice and stared at him, saying, "What did you say?"
The Crow hopped to a high place and, seeing that Bi Shenghua wasn't truly angry, began to recite a poem, swaying its head:
"A day without seeing him, I am driven mad with longing; a thousand days without seeing him, I yearn for him every night. My love is beyond the heavens, with the Fifth Maiden; I guard my empty room, for I am with two monks..."
Bi Shenghua flew into a rage, hands on her hips, and yelled, "You damned Crow, come down here if you dare!"
The Crow stretched out its neck and declared boldly, "A man's bird is a big, tall crow; if I say I won't come down, I won't!"
Onions, garlic, radishes, taro, and cabbage all flew out together, leaving contrails like cannonballs, chasing after the Crow that were frantically flapping their wings, scattering all over the room with a clattering sound...
When it was time to eat, Shi Dazhuang and Hu Xing arrived, bringing Xia Tian Meimei with them.
When Hu Xing came in, her eyes were red. When she saw Qingmu, she could only shed tears and couldn't speak. It took her a long time to finally call out "Master," which made Qingmu and Shi Dazhuang a little embarrassed.
Shi Dazhuang patted Qingmu's shoulder hard and called out "Brother!" The two men then gave each other a bear hug, expressing all their emotions through the strength of their arms.
Hu Xing was displeased and said to Shi Dazhuang, "Hey, what are you doing? Hugging my master and calling him brother, what does that mean?!"
Everyone burst into laughter.
Shi Dazhuang released his grip, laughed heartily, then glared at Hu Xing, saying like a leader reprimanding a police officer back in the day, "Your master and I went to war together, of course we're brothers! Let's call each other whatever we want."
Hu Xing pouted and muttered, "Show-off! I'll deal with you when we get back!"
The Crow cawed excitedly, "Caw! Looks like someone's going to be sleeping on the floor tonight!"
She then whispered to Hu Xing, "Hey, your husband used to be a reconnaissance soldier, he can practically use the floor as a sofa, you'd better make him kneel on the keyboard and sleep on the stairs! Don't let him into the room... um... if you can't resist, I saw Ruhua just bought some carrots, want to borrow a couple?"
Xia Tian has grown into a young man, and he calls Qingmu "Master" after Hu Xing. Meimei only ten years old, but she has completely inherited the excellent genes of her parents. If you look closely, you can see some resemblance to Xia Xiaoxiao and Situ.
She wasn't in a hurry to get intimate with Qingmu. After calling him "godfather," she went to the kitchen to help Bi Shenghua serve the dishes. Only after the adults had finished talking did she find an opportunity to sit down next to Qingmu and quietly ask:
"Godfather, have you seen my father?"
Qingmu saw a maturity in Xia Chujue that was beyond her years. No wonder, for a child who had left her parents at the age of five and lived in a completely unfamiliar place, while making many secret promises with her father that only existed in her dreams, was not an easy thing even for an adult.
He soothed her with his spirit, and when he entered her dream, he saw a vast ocean and a beautiful island. There, the moonlight was like water, and purple flowers covered the mountains.
A small wooden house stands on the beach; the house has no door.
Meimei stood barefoot on the beach, her back to the moonlight.
Qingmu sensed the powerful Mental Power supporting this dream and discovered that Xia Chujue's Mental Power was growing faster than he had imagined. He then realized that the wooden house that Situ had left her was not just a memory, but a spiritual source that connected to the void.
That place is likely a Dream Corridor leading to the Holy Land.
Qingmu knew that Situ had left his daughter a large fortune, but those were all external possessions. Someone like Situ would surely leave his daughter some means of survival. The greatest wealth was probably still in this dream, in that wooden house.
He suddenly remembered that there were so many suspicious points about Ramla activating the Altar of God. How could someone as intelligent as Situ not have any suspicions? Was there another purpose behind restarting the Holy Land and obtaining Gaia's Mental Power?
However, Qingmu didn't want to pry into the secret Situ had left for his daughter, so he didn't use his Mental Power to explore the inside of the wooden house. Looking at Meimei's eagerly expectant face, he smiled:
"Your father was a remarkable man; we fought side by side."
