Though he is gone, his name will live forever

We have previously hypothesized about silicon-based life based on carbon-based life; in the quantum physics community, some have also proposed the concept of quantum state life. But no matter which one, they all still cannot escape the understanding that the foundation of life is composed of "matter".

But why must life be material?

In the vast universe, in that boundless void, and in the dimensions beyond that void that overlap with us but are invisible to us, there are countless things we do not know.

When we imagine "aliens," why do we insist that they must arrive in spaceships traveling at or faster than the speed of light? Why don't they just suddenly appear with a "whoosh"?

That's just how "they" are.

Perhaps there's a wormhole somewhere on Earth, or maybe a time tunnel has shifted to Earth's vicinity, or perhaps a rift has appeared in space between different dimensions...

Perhaps there's nothing there at all; they don't need any passageways. As long as they detect the coordinates of life, they can just rush over in a flash.

Let me think again about what special things have happened to me recently. The President invited me to a White House dinner, but I didn't go; Ronald Cohen invited me to an art exhibition, and out of respect for Da Vinci and Picasso, I went. The paintings were really good, but there seemed to be nothing suspicious about them...

Oh, by the way, Silva said they found some ruins on the seabed of the Pacific Ocean. He showed me an hourglass and a pyramid model, which were very interesting. I'll go check them out when they make more discoveries.

That's all. Let's talk about "him" again.

You see, he's looking at me now and trying to stop me from transmitting the matrix information to the machine.

He's distracting me, which is really troublesome! When you try to decipher it in the future, you'll encounter interference; this Mind Matrix might be much more complex than before.

I don't know what to call him and them, but I've basically figured out their characteristics.

They are a kind of " Parasitic Consciousness." That is to say, they have no physical body, no memory storage, only consciousness. This consciousness can detach from matter for a short period of time (it is currently impossible to determine whether it can detach for a long period of time) and exist independently. Then, it finds a suitable "body" to parasitize, steals the host's memories, and then drives away or kills the host's consciousness.

What makes them terrifying is that they don't need to use faster-than-light spaceships to travel tens of thousands of light-years to declare war on us, nor do they grow like worms parasitizing our digestive tract or fatty tissue.

They silently infiltrate your brain, take over your consciousness, and control your thoughts and actions.

You and your family have no idea about this.

Your child still loves to ride on your shoulders to watch baseball games, your wife still cooks for you and makes love to you, but you've become an alien.

In ancient Eastern legends, there is a story called "body possession," which describes how one person's body is taken over by another person's soul.

However, this record is not scientific.

Our brains are like a computer's hard drive and memory; all of a person's memories, except for genetic information, are stored here. If the brain dies, the consciousness that is separated from it cannot remember anything about its previous body. Aside from changes in temperament and thought patterns, there will be no other problems with the person who has been possessed.

Okay, maybe you don't think this is anything to be afraid of, because it seems your memories are still there, your body is still there, and humanity will continue to reproduce, just like it is now.

However, I want to tell you that each species has a different way of surviving and evolving, resulting in different behavioral characteristics among their populations. We humans, in order to survive, consider the living space for our descendants, and a large number of people study and explore the fate of humanity and the mysteries of the universe. Therefore, our progress is obvious.

But they don't need it.

They don't need to consider how long Earth can survive. Once energy is exhausted or the environment deteriorates, they will "biu" out of your body and go elsewhere.

They have no concern for the fate of humanity, no interest in human genes and memories; their sole purpose is to expand their own race through parasitism.

Perhaps we will never know their original dimension or home planet, because you cannot be certain how long they have been drifting in the universe, how many times they have parasitized, or how many races they have destroyed. They have no memory, and even if you could capture them, you would not know their past.

I'm not sure about their reproductive methods either. Judging from their aggressive nature, they are not immortal, so they must have some kind of reproductive method that we don't know about. Perhaps it's schizophrenia, or consciousness regeneration.

I cannot guarantee that what I have said is true. I can only do my best to analyze this matter rationally, as a warning to humanity, and as my last contribution to the cause of science on my deathbed.

I'm certain I'm not the only one who has encountered the invasion of " Parasitic Consciousness." As for how many people have been successfully "possessed," and how many are fighting back like I am, I don't know.

That's the most terrifying part.

We can't know who is still the same person and who has become an alien unless my Thought Matrix Cipher is popularized worldwide, allowing everyone to perform the " Lester Signature." But that's clearly impossible. Even within the scientific community, my invention cannot be widely adopted; it demands too much from people's mental and mathematical abilities.

To put it another way, if you suspect that someone is no longer themselves, what can you do? Kill them?

Human society's ethics, morality, and legal means are powerless to address this issue.

Humanity is facing a tremendous test! And it's not just humans; your pet cat might be facing the same problem.

How to defeat them and win this war depends on you, my friends!

Now, I must go first.

I must admit, I cannot defeat "him." He has grown stronger and stronger, to the point that he has taken control of my daily life. Without deep self-hypnosis, I am no longer myself. Therefore, my only option is to perish together with him.

I will send the information to Dardova. He understands my thought patterns best and can obtain my mental coordinates, thereby cracking the code.

I believe in him, not only because he is my good friend, but also because he recently made a new breakthrough in the mathematical axiomatization of quantum field theory. This proves that he is still the excellent scientist he always was. If he were parasitized, those Parasitic Consciousness wouldn't care about quantum mechanics and mathematics; they would only use your knowledge and power to expand their own kind.

This same principle applies to the identification methods of other scientists.

Besides him, I think the list of players I can trust includes: Silva, Hans, Mei Yiqiu...

When Mei Yiqiu heard his name, he felt an urge to cry. He raised his hands to cover his face, but only touched the cold metal casing of the large VR headset.
