Ch. 41Xianggu, the flesh corpse
Xianggu revealed her past in the Blood God Cult and explained how Fu Yu used God-Inviting Incense to preserve her as a conscious flesh corpse. Ji Nanshu arranged a way for Xianggu to remain in her body and warned them about the still-active cult before he and Chu Mo returned to the courtyard closer than before.
- Xianggu confessed that she had learned to make God-Descending Incense for the Blood God Cult, fled when she discovered the truth, and was killed after the cult forced her to make incense.
- Xianggu explained that Fu Yu had used genuine God-Inviting Incense while refining her into a flesh corpse, which let her retain her consciousness and memories.
- Ji Nanshu offered Fu Yu and Xianggu three sticks of God-Inviting Incense and a path to the corpse-driving clan’s cultivation method, while warning them to conceal their identities from the active Blood God Cult.
- Fu Yu asked Ji Nanshu to place restrictions on them, but he told them to stall any cult members and contact him instead.
- On the walk home, Ji Nanshu told Chu Mo that Fu Yu was a wolf and warned him to avoid anyone marked with the Blood God Cult’s flaming-skull tattoo.
- Chu Mo asked Ji Nanshu to call him A-Mo, and Ji Nanshu happily repeated the name as they grew closer.
