The leopard cat was quite enormous. Even without its tail, it was nearly two meters long.
A small dagger was embedded in the leopard cat's left eye, but more importantly, its belly had been slit open, spilling its guts all over the ground.
He gave Wu Youren a surprised look, nodded slightly, and raised a thumb!
A leopard cat this size could basically crush a Knight Apprentice. Even against a Knight, it might hold out for a few exchanges.
Luo Xi revised his assessment of the little fellow once again. The Monkey Tiger he had killed earlier had only been a little over three meters long.
But with members of the Weird Race still lurking around in the shadows, he could hardly say much. Most of his attention still had to go toward keeping watch.
Wu Youren, however, spoke up. "I wasn't the one who landed the killing blow."
There was a hole about five centimeters across in the back of the leopard cat's head, made by the female Knight.
But she merely smiled dismissively. "The little fellow fought very well. I just thought this thing was making too much of a fuss."
She had stood by to oversee the fight and witnessed the boy's battle with the leopard cat firsthand.
This leopard cat was not only enormous but exceptionally cunning. It had ignored Luo Xi's slaughter and remained patiently in hiding.
When it suddenly attacked, it was silent, yet extraordinarily swift.
But the boy was truly no ordinary fighter either. He instantly triggered a mechanism beside him, and a fist-sized object sprang up from the ground.
As it rose, the object snapped open into a net two meters across.
The leopard cat could not possibly have missed this. It twisted in midair, trying to avoid the potential threat.
At the same time, its momentum toward the boy remained entirely unchanged.
Its long, slender body stretched and shifted to the utmost in midair, displaying a breathtaking degree of lightness and flexibility.
This was an innate racial gift, something no amount of envy could grant.
Yet just as it maneuvered, the boy's right hand moved, silently launching a small dagger.
The small daggers Wu Youren bought all had a matte finish. Without polishing, they barely reflected any light in the darkness.
This made the daggers look even shoddier, but he used them for fighting. He had no need for something merely for show.
He had not even sharpened most of the daggers, only worked on their tips.
Knight Apprentices also possessed internal energy. Sometimes, a sharper blade was not necessarily better.
Besides its matte finish, this dagger had also been coated in Weird-Dispelling Powder, making it even less conspicuous.
The female Knight was not opposed to helping the boy, but until now, he had always been lukewarm toward her.
At the very least, she would wait for him to suffer a little before considering whether to intervene.
Precisely because of this, she had watched the boy's every move throughout the fight.
The net was nothing but a feint. It would contribute nothing to the battle itself; its sole purpose was to distract the leopard cat.
The boy's throwing knife was the true demonstration of his ability. Its timing was perfect, and it was not only accurate but astonishingly powerful.
As for dropping to the ground and using the leopard cat's forward momentum to slit its belly open with ease... all one could say was that he had some quick wits and dared to take risks.
This way of killing a leopard cat was not particularly common among martial artists, but it was not all that spectacular either.
With the female Knight's strength, there was nothing difficult about the boy's sequence of moves.
Yet considering that he was only a Knight Apprentice, it was truly remarkable.
His strength was one aspect, but more importantly, his temperament was exceptionally steady. He remained calm amid sudden changes, knew when to tighten and when to relax, and his movements never faltered in the slightest.
Especially that springing net: it seemed irrelevant to the overall outcome, but it could absolutely be called a stroke of genius!
The female Knight was genuinely a little puzzled. How had the little fellow thought of that in such a rush?
She had been quite certain that the leopard cat had already suffered a fatal wound but would not die for a while, which was why she had finished it off.
For her, this truly required no more than lifting a hand. Had she not intervened, she would instead have confirmed the suspicion that she was merely "watching the show."
The female Knight did not want Wu Youren to harbor too much resentment, and the member of the Weird Race driving the leopard cat could appear at any moment.
Unexpectedly, the boy who had always been so cold actually knew how to behave and was willing to yield the credit.
So perhaps there was... some other reason he kept everyone a thousand miles away?
Luo Xi had not expected the female Knight to quietly slip in such high praise.
He nodded slightly. "All right, the battle isn't over yet... fuck?"
In a flash, he rushed out of the factory building and vanished into the night.
The female Knight froze briefly before rushing out after him, leaving a warning behind. "Stay on full alert!"
The next moment, a rushing wind sounded outside. Only by listening carefully could they distinguish it as the sound of weapons cutting through the air.
The four Intelligence Agency members formed a small circle with their backs to their companions, their faces all grave.
One of them was facing Wu Youren. After a moment's thought, he beckoned. "Come on, join us!"
The two Knights had rushed out. For the five remaining Knight Apprentices, huddling together for warmth was the right response.
Though the young man before them was young, everyone had clearly seen him dispatch the leopard cat with ease just now-he was no weakling!
Naturally, Wu Youren was not going to stand on ceremony at a time like this. In a flash, he joined them.
The four made an opening for him to join, and one could not help asking, "Where's your weapon?"
He had only one sharpened dagger, meant for close combat. The other daggers were tucked into his belt to be used as throwing knives.
He expected to fight the Weird Race with equipment like that? The Intelligence Agency members felt that this was not how things were supposed to look.
Earlier, they could have said that preparations had been rushed and he had not had time to grab a weapon, but now...
"This is all I have," Wu Youren answered softly, offering little explanation.
"Are you kidding me?" The questioner grew displeased and pointed at the three-wheeled motorcycle. "Isn't there a spear over there?"
That spear belonged to Luo Xi... Wu Youren smiled. "I'm not very used to relying on external aids."
The other four were all speechless at this. So the net you used to trick the leopard cat just now did not count as an external aid?
But a moment later, one middle-aged man nodded thoughtfully. Was he tempering himself through extreme conditions?
All five spoke very softly, their ears pricked as they strained to distinguish the sounds of wind outside and assess the situation.
Strangely, there were no howls of pain. Instead, the sounds of weapons slicing through the air grew ever more distant.
Three or four minutes later, the weapons were gradually becoming inaudible when Wu Youren suddenly sensed something unusual from the Weird-Repelling Jue again.
Without a second thought, he drew a throwing knife laced with something extra and shot it straight at the huge leopard cat's corpse.
The dagger Wu Youren threw had barely left his hand before it exploded in midair.
The next moment, a barely audible howl rang out.
"Fuck... stay sharp, everyone," one of the four snapped softly. "Watch out for the leopard cat's remnant soul!"
Under the influence of weird energy, remnant souls could transform into resentful souls, which fell within the category of the Weird Race.
Wu Youren's strike made everyone realize that these leopard cat corpses all posed a certain hidden danger.
After that, however, there really were no further unusual disturbances.
About another two minutes passed before two figures flashed into view. Luo Xi and the female Knight had returned.
