When Jill arrived at the hospital with the STAR Team and some surviving PD detectives, weary from their journey, the sight before them stunned them.

At the hospital entrance, more than a dozen burly, expressionless men in suits were casting "magic" to attack the surrounding zombies.

They could fire energy beams from their fingers and energy balls from their palms, clearing out the surrounding zombies as easily as chopping melons and slicing vegetables.

By the time Jill and the others arrived, nearly all the zombies nearby had been cleared out.

"Jill, you didn't tell me your friends were a bunch of Magic Mages," Peyton said, the corner of his mouth twitching.

"I didn't know that kid had an army of Magic Mages either." Jill was just as stunned.

"Excuse me, are we still on Earth?"

"God, that's so cool. If only I could use magic."

Jill couldn't be bothered listening to their nonsense and headed straight into the hospital. The "Magic Mages" ignored them. Once they finished clearing out the zombies, they returned to stand guard at the entrance on their own.

After everyone entered the hospital, they found it bustling with activity. More "Magic Mages" were remodeling the hospital.

They called it remodeling, but they were really tearing down walls, demolishing every unnecessary wall and connecting every room that could be connected.

The hospital soon became spacious and open.

"Who are they?" Jill asked when she saw Ling Yi, pointing at the robot puppets.

"They're intelligent robots."

"What?"

"Show her," Ling Yi told one of the intelligent robots.

When the robot's skull automatically opened, revealing the chips and glowing power source inside, Jill and the others were even more dumbfounded.

"There are mechs in the warehouse over there. Pick one each, then go build defensive walls around the outskirts of Raccoon City."

"Hey, kid, I'm not taking orders from an Asian," a potbellied white man said, deeply displeased.

Ling Yi looked at Jill. "Is this piece of trash one of yours?"

"No, he joined us along the way," Jill said with a shrug, giving the man a look as though he were an idiot.

"I really don't understand. Who gave you the courage to provoke me?" Ling Yi was utterly baffled. Never mind that the apocalypse had arrived-even a fool should have known not to provoke him after seeing the power he had displayed. Was this guy's brain made of shit?

"Don't expect us to follow your orders."

"All right, there really is no communicating with the brain-dead."

With that, Ling Yi snapped his fingers. The potbellied fatty began dissipating like smoke and vanished completely before everyone's eyes in the blink of an eye.

"This is the apocalypse. Humanity's survival comes before everything else. Here, you'll put away that so-called racial pride of yours. Any other questions?"

Everyone exchanged looks, unsure what to do. Some of them were still unhappy with Ling Yi, but they no longer dared step out of line.

"Didn't you hear me? Any more questions?"

"No, sir!"

"Then carry out your orders!"

"Yes, sir!"

Everyone immediately ran toward the warehouse. They didn't want to be snapped out of existence. That would be far too miserable a death.

"How exactly did you... Forget it, I won't ask. What should I do?" Jill rubbed her face. Too much had happened today, and everything had changed too quickly. She was almost numb.

"You can kill zombies, build defensive walls, or go to sleep."

"No, I just want to stay by your side!"

"Suit yourself!"

There were hundreds of Dragon Balls-style intelligent robots, along with dozens of piloted mechs like the ones Emperor Pilaf and his companions used in Dragon Balls.

They formed a vast demolition brigade, first tearing down nearby buildings, then transporting the materials to the borders of Raccoon City to build steel defensive walls.

Naturally, they encountered large numbers of zombies along the way, but those had no effect on them whatsoever.

As for the Umbrella Corporation, it was now completely "blind." Raccoon City had been entirely cut off from outside networks, and they had no idea what enormous changes were taking place there.

Any electronic equipment belonging to the Umbrella Corporation malfunctioned before it could even approach Raccoon City.

They knew that something major had probably happened in Raccoon City, something beyond their control.

So they sent a special task force to infiltrate Raccoon City, only for the mech-piloting STAR Team to happen upon them and wipe them out.

The Umbrella Corporation was now in a frantic mess.

Information about the T-virus, the Umbrella Corporation's Rebirth Plan, and even its secret bases around the world had been posted online.

With videos and all manner of detailed data, the evidence was conclusive, leaving the Umbrella Corporation no room for excuses.

Many countries had already moved against the Umbrella Corporation, arresting a large number of employees and executives who had failed to evacuate and go into hiding in time.

Fuck, Umbrella had already started playing at ending the world, and they had known absolutely nothing about it. It was utterly despicable.

In almost no time at all, the Umbrella Corporation had become a rat crossing the street, with everyone shouting for its death.

But now that the virus had broken out and the apocalypse had arrived, every effort to save the situation was ultimately too late.

The Umbrella Corporation would have a hard time for a long while to come.

Some more radical countries had already begun dropping Big Ivans on nearby Umbrella bases-and not just one, but more than a dozen at a time.

The apocalypse was here anyway. What use was there in keeping those Big Ivans? Better to drop them straight onto those beasts' bases and get revenge while they were at it.

Given all this, even though the Umbrella Corporation knew that something beyond its control had happened in Raccoon City, it lacked the strength to do anything about it.

A few months later, the apocalypse descended in full. Zombies roamed the entire world, and very few humans survived.

Raccoon City, however, had now become humanity's last paradise.

Huge numbers of survivors poured into Raccoon City, bringing its population above even its pre-apocalypse level.

But people's way of life was now fundamentally different from what it had been before the apocalypse.

Raccoon City's former central administrative building had now become the Mercenary Center.

Four enormous machines stood at the main entrance.

One machine served as the mercenary registration station. Anyone could register as a mercenary. After registration, the machine would dispense a mercenary bracelet. Putting it on made someone an official mercenary.

The second machine was a points exchange machine. Points could be exchanged for food, water, weapons, and even superpowers.

The third machine was a trial machine. Mercenaries could exchange points for training cards, which took them directly into virtual illusions for simulated combat.

The last machine was an inheritance machine, similar to the Trial Tower in the One Day world. However, the inheritance machine was only available to those who had made enormous contributions. Dr. Charles Ashford, for example, could receive an inheritance directly from it because he had developed a more advanced viral serum.

These included magic, cultivation methods, superpowers, and more. Unlike the superpowers from the exchange machine, these included cultivation systems that could be practiced and leveled up.

The superpowers from the exchange machine, on the other hand, could not be upgraded.

Points came from killing zombies or mutated creatures.

The mercenary bracelets automatically recorded the number and types of kills, calculating the points earned after each kill.

Ling Yi did this partly to save himself trouble, and partly because he wanted to feed rules back into this world through this method.

The effects were clear. The rules of the Resident Evil world were slowly repairing themselves.

Meanwhile, Ling Yi gained more and more law fragments. Within a few months, the number of laws he possessed had reached over three hundred.

Over three hundred laws proved one thing: the Resident Evil world should originally have been a relatively high-level world. At the very least, its original level had been no lower than Marvel's.

Almost everyone in Raccoon City was a mercenary. Some formed teams, while others went solo... The surrounding zombies became treasure grounds where these mercenaries could "make money."

Quite often, mercenaries even came to blows over "leveling spots."

However, the mercenary bracelets imposed extremely harsh punishments for mercenaries killing one another. Besides deducting a large number of points, they would also directly strip away one superpower.

Occasionally, a mercenary squad would appear on the outskirts of Raccoon City. Some carried enormous cannons, some wielded shields and swords, and others unleashed lightning and fireballs...

Ling Yi had led the Resident Evil world completely astray...

"Look, that's Alice, the goddess of war. I heard she's officially become an inheritor and inherited an Eastern cultivation method. She's probably even stronger now."

"You can say that again. If our mercenary group could get Alice to join, that would be perfect."

"Alice, the goddess of war, has always gone alone. She never teams up with anyone, so stop dreaming."

"What's wrong with dreaming? Dreams don't cost points."

Alice went straight upstairs to the second floor and entered Ling Yi's office.

"Savior, I've discovered something new."

Looking at the valiant goddess of war before him, Ling Yi's eyes lit up. As expected of this world's female lead, she really was beautiful.

Still, compared with Black Widow, she was several levels below.

As for the title of Savior, Jill and Charles had spread it, and everyone had kept calling him that ever since. Ling Yi had corrected them a few times, but after finding it ineffective, he stopped caring.

Alice tapped her wristwatch a few times, and a projected image appeared.

The image showed an enormous mutated monster that looked very much like a legendary Western dragon.

It had wings, could breathe fire and fly, and was extremely fast, but its defenses were weak.

Alice flew above the fire dragon's head using telekinesis and finished it off with a single punch.

"Take a robot puppet and investigate. Find its lair and eliminate as many of them as possible. Monsters at this level are still a little too strong for most mercenaries right now. If their numbers grow, they could be troublesome."

"Yes, Savior." After a pause, Alice continued, "Umbrella's executives are still unaccounted for. That's practically impossible. I suspect they have a secret base that isn't in the database."

Umbrella's executives are right here in the underground base beneath Raccoon City, Ling Yi thought. Naturally, Alice couldn't find them. No one would have imagined that the underground Hive base in Raccoon City was the Umbrella executives' lair.
