In two weeks of Operation Hunt, he and White Bone had cleared out four strongholds of the Kami Cult in Dafeng City.
The chemical plant in the north of the city, the underground shopping mall in the south of the city, the abandoned warehouse in the east of the city, and the old residential area in the west of the city.
Four strongholds, forty-two members, all wiped out.
But that's far from enough.
Based on the information provided by Chu Ran and the intelligence obtained from the stronghold files, the Kami Cult's influence in Dafeng City extends far beyond these four strongholds.
The real Big Fish hasn't surfaced yet.
Saint White Night.
The person who signed the top-secret order.
Ling Yi felt an inexplicable sense of familiarity with this name.
It wasn't intelligence from Chu Ran, nor was it a document from the base.
Rather, it came from the fragmented memories in his mind.
He had seen this name before.
Or rather—he had fought this person before.
But the memory is too blurry, like looking through a thick fog, only a vague outline can be seen.
He opened his eyes and stopped dwelling on the question.
The most important thing now is to gather enough energy to Summon Bai Suzhen.
At 4:30 a. m., the White Bone Demon returned.
She brought back six First Tier and two Second Tier energies.
Total: 1840 points.
[Current Energy: 8720]
[Gap: 4,600]
June 5th, daytime.
Ling Yi went to school as usual.
During the break, he found an empty stairwell, opened the system panel, and claimed his daily sign-in reward.
[Daily Check-in: Gain 320 Energy Points.]
[Current Energy: 9040]
not enough.
He needs more hunting targets.
However, he had already cleared out most of the Kami Cult's strongholds in Dafeng City; what remained were the tough nuts to crack.
Or rather, those people have all gone into hiding; finding them is troublesome and a waste of time.
He thought for a moment, then opened the files on the Computer he had brought back from the outpost in the south of the city.
In the appendix to the Plan of Heaven, there is a document called the Personnel Scheduling Table.
The document shows that in the month leading up to the college entrance examination, the Kami Cult will send a large number of personnel from other cities to Dafeng City.
The first batch of reinforcements is expected to arrive on June 8th.
Number of people: 15.
Highest rank: Fourth Tier.
Fourth Tier.
Ling Yi's pupils contracted slightly.
He currently only has a Fifth Tier White Bone.
Fifth Tier has an advantage over Fourth Tier, but not a significant one.
If the enemy outnumbers them, even the White Bone Demon might not be able to escape unscathed.
But if Bai Suzhen arrives...
Two Fifth Tier are more than enough to deal with one Fourth Tier and fourteen lower-tier units.
The problem is, Bai Suzhen still needs 4600 points of energy.
Three days.
He has to collect the money within three days.
Ling Yi closed his Computer, walked out of the stairwell, and returned to the classroom.
He barely listened to any of the afternoon classes.
It wasn't that I was daydreaming; rather, I was planning my next course of action in my mind.
When the school bell rang, he didn't go straight home as usual. Instead, he took a detour and made sure he wasn't being followed before entering the apartment.
His behavior has been unusual during this period.
There's a chance someone might target us.
For example, official organizations for people with superpowers.
Ling Yi could deceive ordinary people, but he wasn't confident he could deceive the authorities.
Officials could not Probe any superhuman abilities within him.
However, this does not mean that the authorities are unaware of his problems.
The world is never short of smart people.
Chu Ran sat on the sofa in the living room, a pile of documents spread out in front of her.
Her injuries have mostly healed.
The superhuman's Self-Healing ability is truly astonishing; the Rend on his abdomen has already scabbed over and will be completely healed in a few more days.
"Any progress?" Ling Yi asked.
Chu Ran looked up and pointed to the document.
"I cracked some of the encrypted files on the USB drive."
"One of them is a complete roster of members of the Kami Cult in Dafeng City."
She handed a printed list to Ling Yi.
Ling Yi took it and quickly scanned it.
The roster listed forty-seven names, each followed by its rank, responsibilities, and location.
He had crossed out most of the names; those were people he had already killed.
There are nineteen left.
Nineteen people, distributed across three outposts that have not yet been cleared.
Have you confirmed the locations of these three outposts?
"Confirmed."
Chu Ran pointed to three red dots on the Map.
"One is a hotel near the train station, one is an office building on Binjiang Road, and another..."
Her finger stopped on the third red dot.
"In the school's basement."
Ling Yi's gaze suddenly froze.
"The school's underground?"
"Beneath the teaching building of Dafeng City No. 3 Middle School, there is a civil defense structure, an air-raid shelter built in the 1970s."
"It was later abandoned, and the entrance was sealed off."
"But the Kami Cult reopened the entrance and transformed it into a secret stronghold."
Ling Yi rolled her eyes.
These members of the Kami Cult are truly ubiquitous.
The school is located underground.
The Kami Cult's stronghold was built right below the school building where they had their classes every day.
More than three thousand students sat on the top floor of that air-raid shelter every day, completely unaware that a group of madmen could turn them into monsters at any moment.
"Where is the entrance?" Ling Yi asked.
Behind the laboratory building, there is an abandoned equipment room.
Chu Ran said, "I checked the school's architectural blueprints. There's a staircase under the equipment room that leads directly to an underground air-raid shelter."
Ling Yi nodded.
"Don't touch this outpost tonight."
"The strongholds on campus are too sensitive. If we take action, the commotion will be too great, and we'll easily be exposed."
Which one should we attack first?
"A hotel near the train station."
Ling Yi pointed to something on the Map.
"There are the fewest people there, and it's the farthest from the school, so even if there's a commotion, it won't affect the students."
He glanced at the system panel.
[Current Energy: 9040]
[Gap: 4600]
There are five people at the train station hotel base, one of whom is Second Tier and the other four are First Tier.
The estimated energy gain after hitting the target is approximately 2000 points.
2600 more is needed.
"What about the office buildings on Binjiang Road?" Chu Ran asked.
There were eight people there, one of whom Third Tier.
"Cousin," Ling Yi said, turning around.
"Here." The White Bone figure emerged from the shadows beside the sofa.
"Tonight you'll go to the train station hotel by yourself. There are five people, one Second Tier and four First Tier. You should be able to handle it."
"And you, little brother?" White Bone asked, frowning.
I'm going to check out the office buildings on Binjiang Road.
The White Bone Demon's brows furrowed slightly.
"Brother, there's a Third Tier in the office building. Although you Sharing my Fifth Tier combat power, your experience in direct Combat..."
"I have," Ling Yi interrupted her again.
The Combat experience gained from two lifetimes is beyond what the White Bone Demon could imagine.
In those previous worlds, he had fought against opponents a thousand times stronger than those at the Third Tier.
For him, the Third Tier was merely a warm-up level.
But Ling Yi didn't rush in recklessly.
Humans aren't monsters in a game; they can dodge, run, and hide.
If any escapes, it will be very troublesome.
"Rest assured."
He stood up, picked up his schoolbag, and said, "After tonight, you'll have someone to help you."
June 5th, 11 PM.
Office building on Binjiang Road, 23rd floor.
During the day, this office building is an ordinary business office space, but at night, the entire 23rd floor is rented by the Kami Cult as a supplementary stronghold for their base in the south of the city.
Ling Yi stood on the rooftop opposite the office building, the night wind ruffling the hem of his school uniform.
He closed his eyes and activated the energy detector.
Within a 200-meter radius, eight super-powered signals clearly appeared in his Perception.
Seven are located in the lobby and elevator area on the first floor; this is the First Tier.
One is on the twenty-third floor, which is the Third Tier.
The signal from the Third Tier was very strong, carrying a scorching, restless pulse—the unique Aura of a fire-type ability user.
He shares the same surname as the deacon who was killed at the southern outpost.
Ling Yi did not take the stairs.
He walked to the edge of the rooftop and looked down—twenty-three stories high, about seventy meters tall.
For ordinary people, this is a certain death height.
But for Ling Yi, who Sharing the Fifth Tier physical attributes, it was no big deal.
Ling Yi leaped into the air.
The wind whistled past his ears, and the city lights flashed past his feet.
After falling three levels, he extended his right hand, fingers spread, activating the secondary ability of the Technique of Changes.
Slender, White Bone tentacles extended from their fingertips, piercing the wall like hooks.
The downward momentum was stopped instantly.
He hung on the exterior wall of the twentieth floor, like a gecko.
Then he let go, fell three more floors, and extended his tentacles again, piercing the wall.
Repeat this process three times, and you will easily reach the twenty-third floor.
