Lin Yueru explained how she and Zhao Ling'er endured countless repeating cycles and how Zhao Ling'er eventually vanished through a Light of Contract from outside their world. When that light came for Lin Yueru, Ling Yi forcibly contracted her and Jiang Qiluo, and the light faded after failing to claim anyone else.

• Lin Yueru told Ling Yi and the others that she and Zhao Ling'er repeatedly tried to escape the cycle, but their deaths and Li Xiaoyao's survival remained fixed.
• Lin Yueru said Zhao Ling'er vanished in a golden Light of Contract before the tournament in Suzhou City, and that more people awakened and disappeared in later cycles.

Ling Yi and Ye Ling'er entered the Fantasy Battlefield, where Duan De was fighting War Consciousness, a Half-Phantom Demon who had created the battlefield to plunder the origins of Fantasy Worlds. Ling Yi questioned how War Consciousness could have contracted Dao Ancestor Hongjun and prepared to test whether he could defeat or seize him.

• Ling Yi restarted the Reincarnation cycle of Chinese Paladin 1 and entered the passage to the Fantasy Battlefield with Ye Ling'er.
• Duan De crashed into the hall beside Ling Yi and Ye Ling'er, healed himself with a potion, and urged Ling Yi to help fight a childlike boss.
• Ling Yi inspected War Consciousness and learned that the Half-Phantom Demon had created the Fantasy Battlefield and contracted Hongjun to help plunder Fantasy Worlds.

Back in their original bodies on Red Maple Mountain, Ling Yi planned to receive Hongjun's inheritance and break the formation while he and Ye Ling'er prepared to switch bodies.

• Hongjun revealed that he had planned to take the Primordial World's origin and escape the Heavenly Dao, then joined the War Consciousness Avatar in destroying Fantasy Worlds and scheming to seize the real world's origin.

• Ling Yi joined the Ten Thousand Swords Sect but discovered that his poor Spiritual Root made immortal cultivation ineffective and that Spiritual Qi instead merged into his Blood Demon Gang Jin.

Mengli tried to explain why she had entered Ling Yi’s room, but the system prevented her from telling him the truth and his favorability kept dropping. She offered Spirit Stones to hire him as her bodyguard for a trip to the Hundred Thousand Mountains, and left to prepare for their departure the next day.

• Mengli introduced herself as the sect master’s daughter and claimed she had come to Ling Yi’s room to talk, but she could not explain the real reason.
• Mengli told Ling Yi she wanted him as a bodyguard and revealed that she knew his cultivation, making him wonder how she had learned about his past.
• After Ling Yi’s favorability dropped again, Mengli offered him twenty Spirit Stones, raising it to five, and promised to provide him with another storage ring later.

The group entered a miasma-shrouded area, alert for danger, as the hostile figure still waited to strike.

Gao Lan, Mengli, and Shen Qingyue fought a huge swarm of centipede demons in the Centipede Forest, and Ling Yi realized Gao Lan and Mengli had systems that rewarded them for killing enemies. As Gao Lan began breaking through to Golden Core, the swarm kept growing, leaving Mengli and Shen Qingyue struggling and calling on Ling Yi for help.

• Gao Lan charged into the centipede demons and killed them rapidly inside a field that slowed their movements, gaining cultivation from each kill.
• Shen Qingyue froze the demons with her flying sword while Mengli killed them with fire and gained experience points.
• Ling Yi suspected that Gao Lan and Mengli had different systems, while he received no benefit from joining the fight.
