At the Pont des Arts, although the railings had long been removed, Draco still managed to pull out a pair of exquisite love locks from somewhere.
He used magic to gently lift the lock, hanging it in the most conspicuous position, and then secretly reinforced it with Permanent Sticking Charm to ensure it wouldn't fall.
"No one can take it down," Draco said.
When Hermione looked up at him, he snapped a photo of her smiling face. They played until evening, and both of them were so tired that their legs ached, so they decided to find a hotel to rest.
The setting sun painted the streets beautifully. Draco suddenly stopped and turned to look at Hermione, a mischievous smile playing on his lips.
"I have a question for Miss Hermione. Should we book one room or two later?"
Hermione froze, then her face flushed bright red. She punched Draco lightly. " Draco Malfoy! Of course, it's two rooms! What are you thinking!"
Seeing her shy expression, Draco was overjoyed. "Alright, alright, two rooms. I was just teasing you."
Hermione was about to reprimand him when she suddenly remembered something more crucial and quickly grabbed him. "Wait! We're not old enough to book a room in France!"
"Let's ask first. If that doesn't work, I have other ideas." Draco said confidently.
Hermione stared at him suspiciously. "A solution? You're not thinking of... throwing money at the front desk, are you?"
"No."
"So... you want to use magic again?"
Hermione seemed to be suddenly awakened, her face turning panicked and her eyes becoming tense.
She glanced around, then lowered her voice and urgently reminded him, " Draco! Have you forgotten? The Ministry of Magic stipulates that underage wizards are strictly prohibited from using magic in Muggle territory!"
"You have Trace on you! If detected, we'll all be warned, or even fired!"
Hermione sighed inwardly: Does being in love really make one's IQ temporarily drop...?
Both of them were so engrossed in their own world that they forgot about such an important matter.
Draco was stunned.
Yes, he used spells all day... and the Ministry of Magic hasn't made a single move.
He quickly came up with the safest excuse possible, trying to reassure his girlfriend. "Don't panic, don't panic, I haven't forgotten."
"Actually, the magical artifacts my grandfather left me can completely block out Trace; they can't be detected from the outside at all."
"Trying to shift the blame onto your grandfather again, huh?" Hermione said coldly, arms crossed.
Her intelligence returned instantly.
Draco chuckled, reached out and gently pinched her cheek, his words dripping with sweetness. "My wife is the smartest; you saw right through me."
Hermione snorted, "Since nothing's wrong, we'll let it go for today, but you're absolutely not allowed to misuse magic again."
Draco leaned closer, looking aggrieved. "My wife is so sweet... but I'm sure I have the ability to block things out, otherwise the Ministry of Magic would have handcuffed me long ago after just one day."
"That won't do either." Hermione's attitude was firm. "You don't have it, and you're not allowed to take any more risks."
Seeing this, Draco nuzzled her arm in a coquettish tone. "Honey~ no~ using magic is so much more convenient, it makes you less tired and happier..."
"Just a little bit occasionally, okay?" Draco said, holding up one index finger.
Hermione blushed at his affectionate rubbing, and her heart softened instantly.
Unable to maintain her serious expression, she finally sighed helplessly and glared at Draco:
"... I'm really impressed by you. You can only use it occasionally and discreetly, and absolutely no one can find out!"
Draco straightened up and gave a rather awkward salute. "Rest assured, organization! I promise to keep a low profile and avoid any trouble!"
"Glib-tongued."
After saying that, Hermione turned around, crossed her arms, and walked ahead towards the hotel. She wanted to see for herself how Draco would manage to check in without revealing his age.
Draco smiled and quickly followed.
As the two walked towards the hotel, Draco silently asked himself:
System, I used so many spells in the Muggle world today, why haven't the Trace been triggered? The Ministry of Magic isn't responding at all.
The mechanical voice slowly echoed in his mind:
[Host suspicion detected: The Ministry of Magic's Trace has been permanently blocked for the host. All magical fluctuations have been concealed and will not leave any trace.]
Draco a sense of relief, a slight smile playing on his lips as he silently praised the system in his mind, "System, you're really thoughtful."
The two entered the hotel and went to the front desk to inquire about checking in.
The receptionist carefully examined their identification documents, then looked up to assess their ages, before politely but firmly shaking her head. "I'm sorry, minors cannot check in alone."
Hermione's face immediately showed a hint of disappointment.
Just then, Draco casually snapped his fingers.
A silent and gentle Charm Spell combined with Identity Disillusionment Charm landed quietly on the receptionist.
To the receptionist, Draco instantly transformed into a mature and composed Malfoy family butler, with all his documents, age, and identity perfectly compliant and legitimate.
The receptionist immediately put on her standard smile, quickly completed the check-in process for them, handed them the room key, and showed no suspicion whatsoever.
After the two got their room keys and left, Hermione asked suspiciously, "What kind of weird magic did you use this time?"
"Can't the clever Miss Granger guess?"
"Something like Confundus Charm?"
"You're right."
Hermione frowned and said seriously, "Using this kind of magic... is very inappropriate."
She glanced at the smiling receptionist and couldn't help but scold, "Using magic on Muggle is against the rules, and you're using it to trick people into checking in? That's an abuse of magic."
Draco was about to brush it off with a grin when Hermione glared at him again, her tone softening slightly:
"If the Ministry of Magic finds out, if something goes wrong... I don't want to see you thrown into Azkaban."
"I can't just watch my wife sleep on the street, can I?" Draco tried to bluff his way out.
"We can ask an adult for help!"
"Oh, just to satisfy my vanity of wanting to protect you in front of you, okay?" Draco said pitifully again.
Hermione paused, looking at his serious yet somewhat aggrieved expression, and the reprimand that was on the tip of her tongue suddenly wouldn't come out.
She continued walking, scoffing as she went, "... Just this once, and don't let it happen again."
"Shall we go on a trip next time?" Draco deliberately handed over the reins to her.
Hermione was completely speechless after his words, and glared at him fiercely. "... You're hopeless."
Draco, seeing her angry yet helpless expression, laughed even more smugly, put his arm around her shoulder, and headed for the elevator.
Hermione was quite helpless.
It was clearly him who violated the rules and misused magic; it was him who acted spoiled and pleaded; it was him who was unreasonable yet acted arrogantly...
In the end, she was the one who was persuaded, she was the one who softened her heart, and she was the one who obediently followed him.
Hermione sighed softly to herself.
It seems she... is truly completely under this man's control.
She was clearly the most disciplined and clear-headed Granger,
But when he encounters Draco Malfoy, all principles can be subtly loosened, eventually turning into helpless compromises.
But she absolutely loved it.
