" Protego Diabolica!"
Draco remained expressionless. He waved his " Watcher's " wand in front of him, and a huge magical shield of fire, interwoven with azure and pale gold, instantly unfolded in front of the three of them.
The crimson breath slammed into the fire shield, unleashing a deafening roar and a blinding burst of energy.
The fire shield trembled violently, and the runes on its surface flickered wildly, but it always kept the scorching flames and turbulent energy flow out.
The three people inside the shield could feel the heat wave coming towards them being weakened and dispersed by the shield.
The dragon, having failed in its attack, circled angrily before returning to the center of the Repository, its ferocious gleam evident.
"You two, go first." Draco, his eyes fixed on the dragon in the sky, instructed the two behind him.
And what about you?
Hermione asked urgently, her face filled with worry.
"I'll try to kill it."
Draco's calm demeanor sent a shiver down Hermione's spine.
"No!" Hermione gripped Draco's sleeve tightly.
"Listen to me," Draco finally turned his head slightly, his eyes gentle in the light of the fire shield, "Trust me!"
" Hermione," Professor Babbling grabbed Hermione, who was still about to argue, "We're definitely holding him back! Trust Draco, he knows better than any of us what to do!"
As they spoke, the giant dragon attacked again.
This time, Ranrok abandoned its ranged attacks. It let out a piercing screech, raised its massive dragon claws high, and slashed down fiercely towards the location of the three!
"Flame Breath!" Draco shouted.
A powerful jet of fire erupted instantly, propelling the three of them backward like a rocket booster.
Just as the two were pushed away--
"Boom!"
The moment they left, the enormous dragon claw slammed heavily onto the spot where they had been standing.
Countless pebbles shot out like cannonballs, leaving a terrifying claw mark half a meter deep in the ground.
Dark red energy hissed and flowed along its edges.
If the person had been there just now, the consequences would have been unimaginable.
Hermione staggered to her feet in the distance, then turned back to see the terrifying claw marks and the billowing dust; her heart nearly leaped out of her chest.
The last vestige of hesitation and willfulness vanished completely upon witnessing the absolute threat of death and being rescued by Draco.
She bit her lower lip.
He took one last, deep look at the tall figure in the smoke and dust, and with all his might, shouted in that direction:
" Draco Malfoy! If you dare die here... I will never, ever forgive you!"
Draco didn't turn around, but simply waved his hand with his back to them. "Don't worry, it's just a 'little bird'."
Hearing that he still had the mood to joke, Hermione felt a lump in her throat, but also felt inexplicably relieved.
Together with Professor Babbling, she quickly retreated outside the giant gate, nervously peering out to observe the battle unfolding inside.
Seeing that the "insects" had actually avoided being trampled, the dragon became even more enraged, stopped circling, and began to violently flap its bone wings.
The bone wings whipped up a fierce wind.
A fierce wind swept in, carrying with it debris and dark red energy.
Where the storm passed, a layer of ground was scraped away, and deep ravines were peeled out of the rock walls.
Faced with this unavoidable area-of-effect attack, Draco remained standing calmly in the wind, simply saying, " Protego Diabolica!"
A circular magical fire shield, larger in range than the previous strong shield, completely enveloped Draco.
"Crackling and popping--!"
Debris from the storm pelted the shield like raindrops, creating a dense barrage of explosions, but none of it could penetrate.
Draco stood in the center of the shield, not even the hem of his clothes was ruffled, and he looked completely at ease.
Seeing this, Hermione, who was hiding behind the door in the distance, finally felt a little relieved.
Professor Babbling has completely lost her mind.
The magical power and control Draco displayed far exceeded her understanding of what an "excellent student" was; it was practically the performance of Legend wizard!
After several rounds of fierce attacks, they couldn't even scratch Draco's skin, nor could they make him move an inch.
This huge gap in strength,
Even the once invincible dragon Ranrok was now plunged into deep self-doubt, and it roared in disbelief:
"How is this possible? How could you possibly withstand the power of a demonic dragon! This is the pinnacle of Ancient Magic!"
"I can not only stop them," Draco said with a cold smile, "But today, I will also slay a dragon!"
He raised his wand high, his voice rising abruptly, carrying with it immense pressure. " Fiendfyre —descend!"
As the incantation was finished, the sky seemed to crack open, and towering black Fiendfyre poured down like a waterfall.
Fiendfyre! The legendary cursed fire, a top-tier Dark Magic that possesses life, devours everything, and is extremely difficult to control!
The moment the Fiendfyre descended, the dragon instinctively sensed the deadly danger, and its massive body frantically tried to dodge.
However, it was too late; a small black flame touched its prized bone wing horn.
"Aww--!!"
Ranrok let out an extremely shrill scream.
It frantically flapped its burning wing.
It even used its other paw to slap it.
But it was all in vain!
The Fiendfyre is like a maggot clinging to the bone; once it touches something, it spreads wildly along the energy and Mithril, devouring it!
With a few hissing sounds, the incredibly hard Mithril bone wings were instantly burned through, leaving a large chunk missing, and billowing black smoke.
The Fiendfyre flames fell into the pit, igniting everything around them. The overflowing emotional energy became the best fuel, burning ever brighter and turning the entire Repository into a purgatory.
"This is bad!" Ranrok thought to himself, realizing the situation was dire.
It could sense that its connection with the largest aggregate of emotional energy at the core of the Repository was being interfered with and weakened by Fiendfyre! If this continued, let alone defeating Draco, even maintaining this dragon form might become a problem!
In dire straits,
A flash of madness and determination appeared in Ranrok's eyes. It suddenly retracted its damaged bone wings, and then opened them with all its might!
"Boom--!"
A dark red energy shockwave, even more violent than before, erupted violently in all directions in a ring shape!
The shockwave temporarily repelled the Fiendfyre spreading in the crater and also disrupted the surrounding energy field.
As expected, Draco lightly touched the ground with his toes, mounted his flying broom, and leaped upwards like lightning, easily dodging the attack.
Ranrok quickly disintegrated, transforming into a black and red interwoven energy stream that flew frantically back to the core of the Repository.
"Little bird," Draco said, perched on his broomstick, watching the fleeing black and red energy ball with a mocking tone.
Why are you running? Weren't you so arrogant just now?
Ranrok was now in utter despair.
He had clearly transformed into a legendary dragon, possessing world-destroying power, so how come he was being crushed like a chick in front of this human boy?
This enormous difference almost drove it mad.
But a sliver of hope remained in its heart: as long as... as long as I absorb all the Ancient Magic energy and complete my final evolution, I will definitely be able to defeat this monster!
