"Then name a number," Draco said noncommittally.
"More would be best..."
A greedy thought quietly popped into Diana's head, but she immediately suppressed it; one shouldn't be too greedy!
"Let's start with one bet," she said, choosing the safest option.
"Your expectations are too low."
Draco smiled helplessly.
"I'm just worried it'll be too big to catch..." Diana explained, "Let's play it safe first, and add more if we catch it."
"Alright, I'll do as you say, coin insertion and lever pulling."
Diana took a deep breath, dropped in the coin, then stretched out her slightly trembling hand, gripped the lever, and pulled it all the way down.
The images on the screen spun rapidly, and she was too nervous to open her eyes until she heard the crisp sound of coins falling, at which point she slowly opened them.
I actually won!
You won a cherry, which means you get double the prize!
"Wow!" Diana was a little happy, but she kept it to herself.
"I really won!" She picked up the two coins.
"Now you believe me, right?" Draco's lips curled into a slight smile.
"I said it was a guaranteed win."
"... Could it just be a coincidence? Maybe it was just good luck that we bumped into each other..." Diana still couldn't believe it.
Draco ignored her questioning and asked directly, "Stop thinking nonsense, what's next? How many times?"
"Two... twice, I guess." Diana looked at the extra coin in her hand, and her confidence increased a little.
"Then what are we waiting for? All in!" Draco said.
"No, no, no!" Diana clutched the coin in her hand. "We can't bet everything! What if we really lose..."
The little confidence I had just built up crumbled instantly.
"You disobeyed the boss's orders again?" Draco narrowed his eyes.
"Watch out, or I'll dock your pay."
"But... but this is too risky..." Diana said, feeling wronged. "Can't we take it slow?"
"Don't worry, we won't lose!" Draco said confidently, but seeing her still hesitant face, he added, "If we do lose, I'll give you ten thousand dollars."
"Huh?" Diana looked up in surprise.
"Alright then..." After hesitating for a moment, she was finally convinced by the ten thousand yuan offer. "You can't go back on your word..."
"A boss's word is his bond."
Draco patted his chest.
Having received Draco's promise, Diana inserted two more coins, pulled the lever, and the screen spun rapidly before stopping.
Two identical patterns, double!
With a whoosh, several coins were ejected.
"I won!" Diana exclaimed happily, but her joy lasted only a moment. Looking at the few coins, the corners of her mouth drooped slightly, and she felt a little regretful for some reason.
Now that she's won, she gets half, which is... two coins? If she had lost... she would have gotten ten thousand yuan for free! That's way more than what she has now!
He couldn't hide his little emotions; they were all written on his face.
"Looking at you, you're actually regretting not losing? Are you thinking that if you had lost, you could have gotten ten thousand dollars from me for free, which would have been much more than what you have now?" Draco saw right through her thoughts.
"No, no! I didn't mean that!" Diana quickly waved her hands in denial, but her face turned red.
"That's good." Draco didn't expose him, just smiled. "What's next? Three times? Or... more?"
"Then... triple it?" Diana asked tentatively, her heart pounding as she looked at the extra chips in her hand.
"Alright, let's take it slow." Draco smiled.
"But we're still going all in!"
"No all-in!" Diana felt a bit more confident this time. She pointed to the instructions on the slot machine, "We have four coins now, and the maximum coin limit is three."
"Okay," Draco said, suddenly realizing, "Three coins for three times the amount, which is... nine coins, not bad at all."
Diana nodded, took a deep breath, dropped in three coins, pulled the lever, the pattern spun... and stopped.
Until that row of cherries stood still, perfectly aligned once more.
Three times the accuracy, another perfect hit!
The coins tumbled out with a clatter on the table, and Diana's face was filled with disbelief.
She could barely console herself that the previous one-fold and two-fold wins were just coincidences, but now, three consecutive wins, each time at the multiplier she mentioned—how could this be luck?
This is simply a miracle!
"It really happened again..." Diana looked at Draco in shock, "How can everything I say come true...?"
She was puzzled.
"Your mouth has been blessed by me." Draco chuckled, seeing her shocked yet adorable expression.
After saying that, he paused, realizing to himself that something was wrong.
That sounds a bit strange...
"W-what consecration...?" Diana pretended to ask.
Draco quickly coughed and hurriedly tried to salvage the situation, saying, "I meant you're incredibly lucky today. With me watching over you, it's like you've been blessed; you're winning every time."
This explanation is somewhat weak, but it's better than no explanation at all.
"Oh..." Diana's cheeks were still burning, and she muttered softly, "I thought you were going to say something else..."
"What did you think?" Draco asked instinctively.
"No!" Diana quickly denied.
"I wasn't thinking anything!"
"That's good!" Draco found her attempt to cover up the truth somewhat amusing and didn't press her further.
His gaze swept around, and before he knew it, a crowd had quietly gathered. They had just won three rounds in a row.
Although the amount involved was small, the uncanny ability to win big by several times the initial investment had already attracted the attention of some gamblers in the vicinity.
The crowd began to whisper among themselves:
"This is weird, winning every single time?"
A middle-aged man wearing glasses muttered to himself.
"It's really weird, her lips are like they've been blessed..." A woman next to her couldn't help but glance at Diana's lips.
"If that's really the case," a man said, stroking his chin with a wicked grin, "I'd also have to find a woman to kiss; maybe I can even 'bless' her mouth."
Upon hearing this, Diana blushed even more, instinctively moving closer to Draco and lowering her head to hide her face.
"I think you just want to kiss me, what's with all this 'blessing' stuff..."
Someone nearby laughed and cursed.
"Hehe, you found out!" The man didn't deny it.
"It's definitely just luck," said another fat man who seemed skeptical. "I bet you'll definitely lose next time."
I'm betting I won't win this time either!
Despite their verbal skepticism, their bodies betrayed them as they moved closer, their eyes glued to the slot machine, wondering if they could continue their miracle run in the next round.
"Next round? How many times do you want?" Draco ignored the chatter and simply looked at Diana and asked.
Diana was a little nervous being watched by so many people, but she had a lot of confidence in Draco.
