Just after Trillian finished speaking, lightning flashed and thunder roared in the sky. The rain intensified suddenly after the thunder, turning into a torrential downpour. Raindrops hit the ground, splashing up white water droplets that flowed down the slope and formed thin streams that led to the roadside drains.
"The weather like this is the perfect time to go to those kinds of places to gather information. Bad weather filters out irrelevant passersby, so most of the people remaining in the bars now are people with real stories to uncover."
"Isn't a rainy day fun? Walking in the rain, the sound of raindrops hitting the umbrella, isn't that lovely?"
"So romantic?" Trillian shrank back at the sound of thunder, peered out at the increasingly dark sky, and asked, "Judging by the intensity of the thunder and lightning... the rain is probably going to be heavy; it'll soak our trouser legs."
Just after Trillian finished speaking, as if in response, the old man suddenly unleashed a torrential downpour like a waterfall.
The rain was so heavy it was as if the sky had been torn open. The dense raindrops pounded on the umbrellas with a rapid and heavy sound, and the roads quickly flooded, with pedestrians running to find shelter.
A sudden downpour caused the two women to move closer to Draco, one on each side. Draco put his arm around Hermione's shoulder and pulled her closer to him, saying, "Come closer, honey, don't get wet."
Hearing this, Trillian moved even closer to Draco, hugging his arm as he held the umbrella, and said, "Young Master, I'm afraid of catching a cold too..."
"Don't be afraid," Draco explained to her. "I've cast a spell; the raindrops will be kept out and won't get in. The rainwater on the road will also avoid our feet."
Trillian looked down and, sure enough, the rainwater flowing on the ground seemed to encounter an invisible barrier, automatically parting a few inches from their shoes. She couldn't help but exclaim, "Wow—it really is!"
While intrigued, Trillian sensed something was amiss and retorted sourly, "No, that's not the point! The point is—Young Master, your attitude towards Hermione and towards me is always different!"
Upon hearing this, Hermione's cheeks instantly flushed crimson, and she wrapped her arms around Draco's waist, asking in return:
Should they be the same?
This question left Trillian speechless.
"Alright, they really can't be the same." Trillian sighed helplessly, then joked, "Since you love your wife so much, young master, why don't you just carry Hermione away?"
"... Stop teasing me." Hermione's face turned even redder, but her arms around Draco's waist tightened even more.
In the rain, pedestrians hurried along the street, umbrellas in hand, their steps quick and their expressions anxious, a stark contrast to the leisurely stroll of Draco and his companions.
As she walked, Trillian looked down at the raindrops, which, just before touching their bodies, seemed to be gently bounced off by an invisible film, sliding down in an unseen arc and splashing tiny water droplets on the ground at their feet.
The sight was both novel and interesting, and I couldn't help but feel a pang of envy. Magic is wonderful.
The three of them walked to the entrance of the subway station.
Draco folded up the umbrella, dried it, and then handed it to Trillian. Trillian took it, and the three of them walked deeper into the platform. The timing was perfect; the rumble of an approaching train came from the depths of the tunnel, indicating that the train was about to arrive at the station.
"Young master, you've never ridden the subway before, have you?"
Draco glanced at her and asked irritably, "In your eyes, do I look like such an uncultured young master?"
"Isn't this something you do because you live in the Wizarding World and don't need to come into contact with Muggle things at all..." Trillian explained.
Draco gestured for Trillian to look at Hermione standing on the other side. "Isn't my wife supposed to live in the Muggle world? What kind of transportation hasn't she ridden with when I go out with her?"
"Too."
Just then, a screeching sound of brakes rang out; the train had arrived at the station. Light from inside the carriage shone through the rain-soaked windows. The doors opened, revealing a few scattered passengers. Draco and his companions were about to board when suddenly—
A loud, wary shout came from the other end of the platform:
"Vampire--!!"
That shout pierced the noisy air of the platform like a sharp blade, instantly drawing everyone's attention.
The surrounding people's attention was drawn to the sudden sound. In the crowd, a black man suddenly pulled something out of his pocket, and then a flash of light came from the muzzle of a submachine gun. The gunshot suddenly shattered the tranquility of the subway station.
"Ah--!" A piercing scream instantly ignited the entire platform, and the crowd erupted into chaos like a flock of startled sheep.
Some people crouched down in terror, some scrambled to their feet and lay prone on the ground, and others rushed into the carriage to hide.
Those who had just descended the escalator to the platform were terrified and quickly turned around, frantically running back up the steps.
Within seconds, the platform descended into chaos and panic.
This sudden turn of events startled Hermione and Trillian, but Hermione reacted quickly, and she and Draco drew their wands one after the other.
" Stupefy!" Draco thought to himself, and a beam of red light struck the man who was firing wildly.
However, the man only swayed slightly and did not fall down as expected. He turned around, looking confused, but quickly locked his gaze on Draco and his companions who were holding short sticks.
A look of surprise flashed across Draco's eyes.
Surprisingly, this person was able to withstand a standard Stunning Spell, but to prevent the other party from pulling the trigger again, Draco waved his wand once more, this time using Ancient Magic.
" Stupefy!" A different light struck the other man, and the black man finally couldn't hold on any longer. His eyes rolled back, and he collapsed heavily to the ground, his two guns slipping to the side.
Just after Draco dealt with the gunman, a figure suddenly emerged from behind the supporting pillar opposite. The person pulled out a dark pistol, aimed it at the Lao Hei on the ground, and prepared to finish him off.
" Expelliarmus!" Draco reacted even faster, striking the man's wrist before he could fire. The pistol flew from his hand, followed by a second Stupefy, causing him to collapse to the ground.
Just then, another figure quietly peeked out from the side, pistol already raised, aimed at Draco's flank.
Hermione, who had been keeping a close watch on her surroundings, immediately caught the man's movement and whispered Disarming Charm: " Expelliarmus!"
The pistol flew from her hand, Hermione quickly fired a Stupefy, knocking the man unconscious. The spell struck his abdomen, slowing his movements and causing him to sway, but he didn't fall completely.
Is it another constitution that can withstand the Stunning Spell?
Draco immediately cast a Stunning Spell.
The man then collapsed to the ground.
The platform was temporarily quiet, with the faint sounds of sirens and the repeated evacuation announcements from the subway station's broadcast system drifting from afar.
The battle unfolded extremely quickly. People inside the train dared not look around, but many passersby on the platform still had the opportunity to peek.
" Obliviate." Draco pointed directly at the passerby who was peeking at him.
Those people were momentarily stunned into a daze.
Just then, a woman in a leather jacket suddenly darted out from behind a pillar and ran wildly towards the exit without looking back.
"Trying to run?" Draco teleported behind the woman and delivered a chop to the back of her neck. Surprisingly, the woman only let out a muffled groan of pain and staggered.
"Wow, it's not even falling over?" Draco exclaimed in astonishment.
The woman was also shocked at why Draco had suddenly appeared behind her, but she had no time to think. She reached for a pistol at her waist, turned around, and fired.
As soon as the pistol fired, the bullet flew out. Draco anticipated the woman's movements, used his Transfiguration, and the high-speed metal bullet instantly deconstructed and reassembled in mid-air. The metal particles shattered instantly, turning into tiny specks of silver dust that dissipated into the air.
The woman was stunned.
But Draco didn't give her any extra time to attack.
Then, as if by some Ancient Magic, she Stupefy in the chest, her eyes glazed over, and her body slumped forward.
Draco hugged her, grabbed her by the back of her leather jacket collar, and teleported back to Hermione and Trillian.
Hermione was quickly processing the memories of the last few witnesses when she saw Draco return. She put away her wand and said:
"Everything's taken care of."
Draco nodded, Apparition to gather the men who had attacked, and led the six back to the villa.
Draco released his grip and tapped his wand several times in quick succession:
" Incarcerous!" Four ropes shot out from the tip of the staff, binding the four people on the ground tightly. Then, the Lao Hei who fired the first shot was placed alone, while the other three were placed to the side.
