After their conversation that morning, Hermione and Draco clearly understood the difficulty of this matter; it was far from something that could be resolved in two months.
Hermione did hope that the two races could end their endless fighting, but she understood that this was not something that could be accomplished by winning a trial or executing Viktor. The conflicts between the two races were far too numerous and too deep-seated; the hatred was etched into their very bones, passed down from generation to generation, becoming part of their bloodline.
In addition, as Kraven mentioned, there are certain nuances to hunting Werewolf. If the number of Werewolf and vampires becomes too large and affects humanity, even if they don't kill each other, humans might still get involved. Whether the two races' regimes can still be maintained at that point is another matter entirely.
Not to mention the deep-seated hatred between the two sides affecting their rationality; fighting is a way to vent, a way to gain merit, and a channel for promotion.
War is cruel, but for some, it is an opportunity—an opportunity to climb over the corpses of the enemy.
There are just too many factors.
Draco didn't bother to deal with it either.
This is too troublesome. The two races are like trying to untangle a knot that has been tangled for thousands of years. They are not as easy to deal with as Voldemort.
All they can do is bring Viktor, who committed the greatest sins, to justice and let the culprits receive the punishment they deserve.
As for the old score between the two tribes that has been settled for ages,
It can only be left for the next person who is destined to find it.
Perhaps they will come back.
Inside Lucian's office.
Raze is questioning Draco and the others:
" Lucian, do you really think those wizards can help us eliminate the three elders and the rest of the vampire high command?"
"Impossible!" Lucian shook his head. "But right now, we have no other choice but to rely on them."
As soon as the words were spoken, the space around them distorted slightly.
A burst of white light spread out in an instant.
Draco, Hermione, Trillian, Selene, Kraven teleported to the ground. Right in the center, magical blue chains tightly bound one person— Viktor, the vampire patriarch.
The two were taken aback for a moment, but upon spotting Kraven, Selene, and Viktor, they immediately stood up.
The moment Raze stood up, his nerves tensed, his knuckles extended into wolf claws, the hair on his back stood on end, and his face gradually bared his teeth.
It's about to transform.
" Raze," Lucian said in a deep voice.
But it took considerable force from his palms to subdue him.
Raze shuddered violently, his muscles twitching uncontrollably.
The wolfish ferocity within him surged continuously.
He gritted his teeth, veins bulging in his neck, and forced himself to shed some of his bestial form, slowly transforming back into human form.
But restraint is only superficial.
Raze's finger bones were still slightly twisted uncontrollably, and the pale black wolf claws that had not completely faded remained at the tips of his fingers. His breathing was also slightly heavy and rapid, and his chest heaved dramatically.
His eyes hadn't fully recovered to human eyes; the vertical pupils of a wolf still flickered in their depths as he locked onto Viktor.
"I understand, Lucian."
As he spoke, he took two steps back, creating some distance.
But his gaze never left Viktor.
Lucian stepped forward, looked at Viktor lying motionless on the ground, and said, "You've finally come this far."
Upon hearing Lucian's belated pronouncement, Viktor's only movable eyeball suddenly turned bloodshot and trembled.
But his head couldn't turn; he could only strain his neck, his eyes fixed on Lucian, his chest trembling.
Beneath the skin and flesh that were completely locked, the vampire's millennia-old, formidable power was frantically clashing against the magical shackles, yet it could not break free.
Raze said unsatisfiedly, "Didn't you say you would help us eliminate all the vampires who have harmed us Werewolf?"
" Raze," Lucian interrupted him warningly.
Don't be greedy.
Raze's lips moved, but he swallowed back the words that were on the tip of his tongue. Lucian was telling the truth; getting Viktor alone was already an unexpected gain.
But the hatred in his heart went far beyond that. The blood shed by the wolf clan over the years, the clansmen hunted to death—how could Viktor alone possibly settle this score?
However, he had no choice but to give up.
Lucian ordered, " Raze, gather the Wolf Clan guards. Line them up and escort the heavily imprisoned Viktor to the trial hall. Then inform all the clansmen to be present as witnesses."
Raze replied in a deep voice, "Yes."
After receiving the order, he quickly left the office.
A moment later, footsteps echoed down the corridor, and twelve fully armed Werewolf elites marched in formation into Lucian's office.
The team had barely entered when their gaze swept across the room, and everyone froze. They were incredulous at what Raze had said, but they had to obey orders. Upon actually seeing Viktor locked up...
Werewolf let out low, restrained, yet highly aggressive growls, behaving exactly like Raze:
He was consumed by hatred and wanted to pounce on Viktor and tear him to pieces.
Lucian's eyes flashed sharply, silencing the entire room. "Enough!"
As soon as the sound subsided, all the Werewolf stopped leaning forward.
Lucian looked around at his subordinates.
Put away your personal grievances and murderous intent.
"Today is not a day of revenge or slaughter, but a public trial."
"What I want is to end hatred, not to repeat it."
"Line up, escort the prisoners. Proceed to the courtroom."
"Yes." The twelve Werewolf suppressed their ferocity, stood around Viktor in the manner of serious criminals, and escorted him to the trial hall.
The group followed them to the main hall.
Despite being called the courtroom, it was actually located in the sewers. The stone surfaces around the hall were covered with damp water stains and claw marks of varying depths. Cold winds rushed through the cracks in the ground. Inside the hall, there was no magnificent high platform, only a stone judgment platform carved from the rock.
The hall was now filled with the entire Werewolf: veterans, strong men, young descendants, and elders who had survived the era of slavery. They stood silently, no one uttering a sound. The entire underground hall was heavy with the deathly stillness and suppressed rage accumulated over hundreds of years.
The crowd lined up and slowly walked into the center of the courtroom.
Viktor, completely locked up, was heavily guarded by Werewolf as he walked in the middle, with Selene calmly following behind, Kraven keeping his head down and remaining silent, while Draco, Hermione, and Trillian held the fort in the center.
The moment the group stepped into the main hall,
Tens of thousands of wolf eyes were fixed on the three of them.
A suppressed, trembling wolf howl erupted throughout the entire hall.
Countless Werewolf had bloodshot eyes, bared fangs, and tense bodies. The older Werewolf trembled slightly, while the middle-aged and young Werewolf burned with rage. The younger ones, more naive, simply joined in the fury.
At that moment, two suppressed, shattered roars exploded out!
Two dark figures suddenly broke through the crowd, disregarding everything to break free of the blockade, their claws fully extended, and pounced straight at Viktor!
The tense atmosphere instantly shattered!
Following closely behind, several young Werewolf, swept up in their emotions, roared and charged out, their fangs bared and their beastly forms bulging, rushing forward like madmen, their eyes filled only with the obsession to tear their enemies apart.
Raze, sitting in the front row, suddenly narrowed his eyes and charged forward!
Leading all his Werewolf guards, he stood firmly in front of them, arms outstretched, desperately holding back his out-of-control clansmen.
