This highlights the difference between the wise man and the previous Hulun'er and the tribal shaman; even the "gods" they encountered were different.
Although these so-called "gods" were all conjured by Lin Yu, in reality, Lin Yu himself did not control the appearance of the "gods".
In other words, the "god" that everyone sees is actually the god in their own mind.
Before receiving Lin Yu's help, Hu Lun'er was not a very intelligent person among his race, so his understanding of the gods was also vague.
Rather than a specific character, Hulun'er is more like a vague ideology, but as a god, this consciousness must possess extremely powerful strength.
Therefore, the god that Hulun'er saw was more like a strong and capable member of her tribe, which stemmed from Hulun'er's worship of the strong members of her tribe.
As for the tribal high priest, despite his many ritualistic duties, he actually only had a vague impression of "gods" and no clear understanding of them whatsoever.
Therefore, even the gods seen by the tribal shaman were vague and unclear beings.
What sets this wise man apart is that he has a clearer vision of God; his understanding is far more precise than a vague outline.
However, the wise man's reaction upon seeing the god differed from that of Hulun and the tribal high priest.
Both Hulun'er and the tribal high priest were stunned for a long time upon seeing the "god," their minds blank, as if they were completely unable to comprehend what was happening.
But the wise man easily understood what was going on; in his deep eyes, there was more joy and anticipation than shock.
That is the embodiment of nature and great power, a being superior to oneself!
If he had the opportunity to communicate with such a being, he would be able to resolve many of the questions that puzzled him.
Although his so-called clansmen could listen to him, it wasn't communication at all; it was often just the wise man talking to himself.
Whether they were members of their own tribe or leaders of large tribes, they had no way of understanding the deeper meaning of the wise man's words. They only knew that by listening to the wise man's words, they could avoid great risks.
Having realized this, the wise man felt increasingly that there was no point in communicating with these people, and so he gradually became taciturn.
To outsiders, this might appear as a sign of profound wisdom, but little do they know, the wise person is simply feeling lonely.
The wise man almost immediately knelt on the ground. The beautiful goddess came stepping on the Milky Way, draped in brilliant starlight, and looked so unattainable.
"You... how should I address you?" The wise man looked up at the stunningly beautiful goddess, his heart filled with unprecedented excitement.
The stunning goddess spoke slowly, her voice as gentle as a stream. "I am the embodiment of nature and power, the rule of this world."
Now even the wise man looked puzzled, and he couldn't help but ask, "What is the world, and what are its rules?"
These concepts are still very difficult for today's wise people to understand.
In fact, for most tribal peoples, the "world" often means the small patch of land in front of them, since they simply cannot see a wider world given their limited resources.
After asking the question, the wise man couldn't help but feel ashamed. In front of this stunningly beautiful goddess, he felt his own foolishness for the first time.
Fortunately, the stunning goddess showed him no disdain whatsoever. Instead, she pointed to the sky and said, "Beyond your sight lies a far more expansive realm. For you, the world is the infinitely extending land beneath your feet."
"Rules are the principles governing the operation of everything, and your previous discoveries are part of those rules. However, the rules of this world are far more extensive than what you have discovered."
The wise man muttered something, and after a long while, he seemed to finally understand the meaning behind those words.
However, when he looked in the direction the goddess was pointing, he saw a bright starry sky.
"You mean... these bright stars, could they be what we call the world? But because they're so far away, we can't see them clearly at all?"
"So the world is a luminous and heat-generating entity? But if that's the case, why can we only see starlight online?"
The stunning goddess smiled slightly, neither affirming nor denying the wise man's answer.
Just as the wise man was about to ask again, the stunning goddess spoke, "Even if I were to tell you these things now, it would be beyond your comprehension. You simply cannot understand the existence of these things."
"Now, all I can tell you is that your guess is very close to the truth."
"Approaching? So that means I haven't yet learned the truth about these things? Manifestation of nature and great power! Please tell me the rules that govern this world! Please tell me the truth of everything!"
The wise man understood the problem in the goddess myth almost immediately: the so-called "approach" was actually "wrong"!
His emotions surged almost instantly; he longed to rush to the goddess's feet and demand an explanation.
Unfortunately, although the stunning goddess walked down from the starry sky, she did not actually let her feet touch the muddy ground; she merely hovered in mid-air.
"You must offer something of equal value in exchange for what you desire." This time, however, the beautiful goddess refused the wise man's request.
The wise man's mind was almost frozen; he couldn't understand what the goddess truly wanted, yet he was equally unable to let go of the truth behind the world.
"The embodiment of nature and power, what do you need me to do? You are already beyond the reach of ordinary people like me. What can I, so humble, offer you?" the wise man asked, troubled.
Equivalent things, the key is that they are equivalent!
But compared to true gods, someone like myself is nothing more than an ant compared to a ferocious beast. What can I offer to satisfy the condition of "equivalent exchange"?
Upon hearing the wise man's question, the stunning goddess smiled once more.
As if knowing what the wise man was thinking, she spoke, "You truly cannot offer anything of equal value, so you only need to praise my power and spread my name to every corner of this world. And you will receive what you desire."
The eyes of the stunning goddess were bright, as if filled with the starry sky.
