Ch. 121Apocalypse's Plan

Apocalypse used Professor X and Cerebro to seize control of the Xavier Institute and launch every country's nuclear weapons into space while searching for Magneto and other mutants. After altering their memories and learning about Magneto's mutant conversion machine, Apocalypse escaped with Professor X, prompting the X-Men to ask S.W.O.R.D. for help.

  • Apocalypse defeated Professor X in their mental battle, controlled the Xavier Institute, and used Cerebro to spread his psychic power across Earth.
  • Wenwu blocked Apocalypse's psychic attack, while nuclear missiles around the world launched into space under Apocalypse's control.
  • Nick Fury connected the psychic assault and missile launches to Professor X, then learned that the X-Men and White House could not be reached.
  • Apocalypse located Magneto's island, altered the mutants' memories, and celebrated finding Magneto's conversion machine and nearly a thousand mutants.
  • Professor X briefly broke free, but Apocalypse sealed his powers with a helmet and teleported away with him when Colossus and the others arrived.
  • The X-Men contacted S.W.O.R.D., and Carol promised Fury she would handle the mysterious mutant god who had taken Professor X.

Ch. 122The Four Horsemen

Wenwu learned that Apocalypse had taken Professor X and sent the Ten Rings to locate Magneto. Apocalypse found Magneto’s island, enhanced him and three other Mutants as his Horsemen, then sealed himself and Professor X inside a pyramid as the island’s Mutants prepared to defend it.

  • Wenwu concluded that Apocalypse had emerged, learned Professor X had been abducted, and ordered Ching-Lin to search for Magneto.
  • Apocalypse arrived on Magneto’s island, where Magneto and the other Mutants worshipped him under his control.
  • Apocalypse enhanced Magneto, whose power over the earth’s magnetic field caused global disturbances that let the Ten Rings and the United States pinpoint the island.
  • Apocalypse chose Pyro, Juggernaut, and a vibration-controlling Mutant alongside Magneto to become his four Horsemen, enhancing each of them.
  • Apocalypse built a giant pyramid on the island, entered it with Professor X, and had Magneto seal its entrances while the other Mutants guarded it.

Ch. 123Devouring Apocalypse

Wenwu waited for Apocalypse to finish taking over Professor X’s body, then killed and devoured him before the ritual could be completed. He gained Professor X’s telepathy and super perception, but not Apocalypse’s matter manipulation ability.

  • Apocalypse activated the reincarnation ritual and pinned Professor X’s consciousness while Wenwu secretly waited inside the pyramid.
  • The X-Men, Avengers, Fantastic Four, and other heroes arrived and fought Magneto and the Mutants guarding the island.
  • Apocalypse fully took over Professor X’s body, but Wenwu decapitated him and devoured his body, soul, and consciousness.
  • Wenwu destroyed Apocalypse’s psychic counterattack with holy fire and Penance Stare, then absorbed his memories.
  • Wenwu discovered that he had gained Professor X’s telepathy and super perception, but not Apocalypse’s molecular-level matter manipulation.

Ch. 124The Ten Rings Enter the Fray

Wenwu returned to the Great Emperor after devouring Apocalypse and sent the Ten Rings' Tianshu Bureau forces to capture gifted Mutants on the island. As the battle continued, Nightcrawler reunited with the X-Men, and Wenwu claimed he could break Magneto's shield around the pyramid and reach Professor X.

  • Wenwu burned the remaining corpses, teleported aboard the Great Emperor, and ordered the Tianshu Bureau to capture the island's gifted Mutants.
  • Becky, Lucien, Karen, Nier, Allen, Reese, Nightcrawler, Mark, Kaine, Pietro, and the other Tianshu Bureau fighters attacked the Brotherhood, easing the pressure on the Avengers and X-Men.
  • Storm and Colossus recognized Nightcrawler, who explained that Hydra had captured and brainwashed him before Wenwu rescued him.
  • Nightcrawler told Colossus that Magneto's magnetic field prevented him from teleporting into the pyramid, and he returned to the fight.
  • Clarice and Wanda joined the battle while Wenwu mocked Carol for failing to break the magnetic shield around the pyramid.
  • Carol warned Wenwu that Apocalypse intended to take Professor X's body and psychic powers, but Wenwu said he could break the shield with a wave of his hand.

Ch. 125Fighting Carol Again

Wenwu killed Magneto and the X-Men found the altar chamber empty, leaving them to fear that Apocalypse had escaped with Professor X. Wenwu tried to take three captured mutants aboard the Great Emperor, but Carol attacked him, and their battle raged overhead as the Ten Rings withdrew.

  • Wenwu used a spatial portal to remove Magneto's helmet, then devoured and killed him despite Carol's attempt to intervene.
  • Storm and the X-Men entered the pyramid and found the altar empty, while Tony feared Apocalypse had completed the reincarnation ritual and escaped with Professor X.
  • Wenwu captured Juggernaut, Pyro, and Rictor with his golden rings and prepared to take them aboard the Great Emperor.

  • Peter, Tony, Steve, and Bucky stayed out of the conflict as Carol unleashed her fury on Wenwu.

Ch. 126Carol's Overbearing Conduct

Wenwu defeated Carol by absorbing and unleashing her Cosmic Energy, then escaped with the captured Mutants while she accused the Avengers of treason. After recruiting the prisoners and building a Cerebro replica, he began transporting supplies to Mars through a newly created interstellar portal.

  • Wenwu absorbed Carol's attacks and unleashed the stored energy, sending her crashing into the sea before she returned in her Binary state and overwhelmed him with faster, stronger blows.
  • Wenwu endured Carol's attacks while taunting her until her Binary power faded, then blasted her away with the Cosmic Energy he had accumulated.
  • Carol returned to find Wenwu, the Ten Rings, and the captured Mutants gone, then accused Tony, Steve, and the others of failing to stop the escape; Tony and Steve rebuked her.
  • Wenwu used telepathy to influence Juggernaut, Pyro, Rictor, and the other captured Mutants into joining the Ten Rings, while Multiple Man's captured clone revealed nothing about his absent original.
  • Wenwu ordered his clones to build a replica of Cerebro and practiced using Professor X's mental abilities, which strengthened his psychic perception and control of his powers.
  • Two months later, Wenwu completed a giant interstellar portal at the Ten Rings' original headquarters and began sending equipment and supplies to Mars for his transformation project.

Ch. 127The Reality Stone

Wenwu prepared Mars as a fallback for the Ten Rings Empire while the Nine Realms began converging on Earth. He rescued Jane Foster from a spatial rift in London and reached the sealed Reality Stone, beginning to probe it with his psychic power.

  • Wenwu oversaw the construction of a city on Mars as a refuge for the Ten Rings Empire.
  • After Ching-Lin reported abnormal spatial fluctuations on Earth, Wenwu declared a level-two, all-domain combat readiness alert and returned to Earth.
  • Wenwu rescued Jane Foster from a spatial rift in an abandoned London factory and sent her outside to safety.
  • Wenwu entered the alternate space connected to the factory and found the Reality Stone sealed inside a stone pillar.
  • Wary of the Reality Stone's ability to drain life, Wenwu sent his psychic power into it instead of touching it.

Ch. 128Malekith

Wenwu bonded with the Reality Stone through a symbiotic pact and returned to Earth with its power. As the Nine Realms converged, Malekith launched his forces toward Earth to reclaim the Aether, while Dormammu attacked the New York Sanctum and exposed the Ancient One’s use of Dark Dimension energy.

  • The Ancient One faced Dormammu and defended Earth, while Kaecilius became tempted by dark power and Mordo’s faith collapsed.
  • Malekith’s mothership landed in London, and Algrim identified Wenwu as the bearer of the Aether.
  • Thor returned by Bifrost and confronted Malekith alongside Wenwu.
  • Algrim crushed the Kurse Stone, transformed, and overpowered Thor, sending him crashing through a building.
  • Wenwu suppressed Malekith’s attempts to summon the Aether, revealed it above his palm, and kicked Malekith back toward the edge of the rooftop.

Ch. 130Going to Asgard

Wenwu killed Malekith, Kurse, and the Dark Elf forces, then traveled with Thor to Asgard to meet Odin and discuss the Tesseract. Thor planned to visit Jane on Earth afterward, while Wenwu arrived in Asgard and began touring the realm with him.

  • Wenwu killed the Dark Elves aboard their mothership, drained Malekith and Kurse, and reduced the mothership with Pym Shrinkers.
  • Thor explained that his awakened power had gone dormant again, and Wenwu criticized his reliance on Mjolnir.
  • Wenwu invited Thor to visit his kingdom, but Thor said he first needed to see Jane and agreed to take Wenwu to meet Odin and discuss the Tesseract.
  • Thor summoned the Bifrost and brought Wenwu to Asgard, where Heimdall greeted Wenwu and Thor introduced him.
  • Thor and Wenwu rode flying horses across the Bifrost as Thor proudly showed him Asgard.

Ch. 131Infinity Gauntlet

Wenwu retrieved the Tesseract from Asgard, but the Space Stone clashed with the Reality Stone inside him when he tried to use it, so he decided to craft an Infinity Gauntlet. As the Nine Realms converged and unleashed chaos on Earth, Wenwu worked on Mars and finished his gauntlet five days later.

  • Odin returned the Tesseract to Wenwu and warned him that collecting Infinity Stones could draw the Celestials’ judgment.
  • Wenwu and Thor returned to Earth, and Wenwu traveled to Mars to study the Space Stone inside a protective magic array.
  • Wenwu’s attempt to commune with the Space Stone triggered a violent clash with the Reality Stone, prompting him to decide to build an Infinity Gauntlet.
  • The Nine Realms converged, bringing otherworldly beings and beasts to Earth; the Ten Rings army contained the threat, while the Tianshu Bureau captured beasts for study.
  • Five days later, Wenwu completed his own Infinity Gauntlet on Mars.

Ch. 132Self-Definition

Wenwu mastered the Space Stone, explored the Reality Stone’s limits, and upgraded his Godslayer Battle Armor before beginning to purify his genes. As world powers announced plans for space fortresses, he responded by ordering clones to study the captured Dark Elf Mothership.

  • Wenwu used the Infinity Gauntlet to control space and discovered that precise, small-scale changes made with the Reality Stone could permanently rewrite matter at the cost of his life force.
  • Wenwu fused the Infinity Gauntlet with his Godslayer Battle Armor and completed its upgrade several days later, powering it with the Space Stone.
  • Wenwu decided to rewrite his foreign genes as his own origin genes and transformed his spider genes, improving his agility, speed, reflexes, and Spider-Sense while spending half his life force.
  • The world’s major powers announced plans to build space defense fortresses, unaware that the Ten Rings Empire had already built three hidden fortresses.
  • Wenwu ordered some of his clones to study and dismantle the captured Dark Elf Mothership.

Ch. 133Fusing Magneto's Genes

Wenwu replaced his power system research with dark matter technology, purified his genes, and assimilated Magneto’s X-Gene to awaken magnetic field control. After learning that the Inhumans had attacked Earth’s lunar facilities and that a coalition was preparing to invade Attilan, he sent miniature Pym robots to secretly collect Inhuman genetic samples, especially Eldrac’s portal-making genes.

  • Wenwu decided to equip the Chitauri Mothership with a dark matter reactor and specialized dark matter weapons.
  • Wenwu used the Reality Stone to purify his genes, then created and injected a serum made from Magneto’s blood, assimilating Magneto’s X-Gene into his own.
  • Wenwu tested his new magnetic field control on Earth, using it alongside his metal ability to form a colossal metal dragon before sending it to Mars as construction material.
  • Earth’s major powers formed an interstellar coalition to attack the Inhumans on the Moon after they destroyed human spacecraft and survey facilities.
  • Wenwu declined to join the coalition but sent miniature Pym robots to infiltrate Attilan and collect Inhuman genetic samples, including those of Black Bolt and Eldrac, the living teleportation wall.

Ch. 134The Inhumans

Maximus's unauthorized attack on the human lunar fleet sparked a royal dispute in Attilan, but Black Bolt chose negotiation over war. When Carol found Attilan and threatened its failing shield, Black Bolt demonstrated his power and refused her offer to make the Inhumans submit to the United States, leaving him to negotiate on Earth.

  • Medusa and Black Bolt confronted Maximus for attacking humans, and Maximus argued that Attilan needed new territory and resources.
  • Black Bolt overruled the royal elders, confined Maximus, and decided to travel to Earth with Lockjaw to negotiate.
  • Carol struck Attilan's energy barrier, and the royal scientist warned that another blow could destroy it.
  • Black Bolt and Crystal went out to face Carol, and Black Bolt demonstrated his sonic power by shattering a distant mountain.
  • Carol offered the Inhumans a new settlement if they joined the United States' camp, but Black Bolt refused and said he would negotiate on Earth.

Ch. 135Negotiations with the Inhumans

Black Bolt went to Earth to negotiate peace and agreed to provide advanced Inhuman technology in exchange for leniency for Maximus. After returning to Attilan, he found Maximus had staged a coup and seized control of the city’s defenses, forcing Black Bolt to crush the rebellion.

  • Black Bolt chose negotiations over war, then teleported to Earth with Crystal and Lockjaw.
  • Earth’s representatives saw footage of Black Bolt destroying a mountain and agreed to hear his peace proposal despite demanding severe concessions.
  • Black Bolt and the Earth representatives settled on technology compensation, a trial for those responsible, and the Inhumans joining the United Nations; Black Bolt also sought leniency for Maximus.
  • Black Bolt returned to Attilan and discovered Maximus had escaped confinement, taken control of the army and defensive shield, and demanded an attack on Earth.
  • Black Bolt killed the rebel soldiers with a sonic wave and gravely injured Maximus.

Ch. 136Transformation into a Demigod

Wenwu dismissed the threat posed by the Inhumans, then fused Black Bolt’s sonic ability and Pietro’s super-speed genes, testing and improving both powers. After six months of growth with the Reality Stone, he reached demigod-level physique and began developing authority over the laws behind his abilities.

  • Wenwu told Wanda and Clarice that Black Bolt’s destructive power was immense but that his ordinary body made him vulnerable to a surprise attack.
  • The Inhumans joined Earth’s United Nations and formed close ties with the United States, while Wenwu focused on research and gene fusion.
  • Wenwu fused Black Bolt’s genes and used his mimetic sound waves to shatter a nearly two-thousand-meter mountain on Mars.
  • Wenwu fused Pietro’s super-speed genes, raising his normal speed beyond Mach five and his maximum burst beyond Mach ten.
  • After six months of growth with the Reality Stone, Wenwu’s body reached the demigod level and his superpowers began evolving toward divine authority over laws.

Ch. 137Celestial Hatchling

Over six months, Wenwu strengthened the Ten Rings Empire’s fighters and military while studying Tiamut, the sleeping Celestial hatchling inside Earth. He returned to the empire after leaving a clone to continue his research, with Tiamut’s Emergence still expected within ten years.

  • Wenwu used the Reality Stone to evolve the Tianshu Bureau, and Becky became its strongest fighter after fusing with Black Bolt’s genes.
  • Wanda advanced to an advanced mage, while Clarice gained long-distance portals and spatial cutting; Razor Fist and Ching-Lin also grew stronger through gene fusions.
  • The Ten Rings Empire built an interstellar fleet and turned its completed Martian megacity into a military-industrial base.
  • Wenwu studied Tiamut’s gestation and Cosmic Energy at Earth’s core, knowing that devouring the hatchling would bring the Celestials down on him.
  • Wenwu left a clone to keep studying Tiamut and teleported his main body back to the Ten Rings Empire.

Ch. 138Xandar

Wenwu sent a clone with the Space Stone to seize the Power Stone, then took over a Ravager ship and headed for Xandar. As the ship approached, Ronan the Accuser’s forces attacked the planet, turning its peaceful capital into a battlefield.

  • Wenwu created a clone, gave him the Space Stone, and sent him into the depths of the Milky Way to find the Power Stone.
  • The clone encountered a Ravager ship, killed its crew by forcing them into space, and reshaped the vessel into a sword-shaped warship.
  • Wenwu obtained a universal translator from the Ravager chief and set a course for Xandar in the Nova Empire.
  • Ronan the Accuser arrived at Xandar aboard the Dark Aster with Thanos’s forces and launched an attack.
  • Nova Fighters engaged Ronan’s fighters as alarms sounded and panicked Xandarian civilians fled the battle engulfing their city.

Ch. 139Ronan the Accuser

Ronan shattered Xandar’s Nova defense and battled Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, and Groot aboard the Dark Aster, overwhelming them with the Power Stone. The Milano sent the flagship crashing toward Xandar, and Wenwu rescued the Guardians as the Dark Aster struck the city, killing countless civilians.

  • Ronan used the Power Stone to destroy Xandar’s Nova Fighter shield, devastating the city as Yondu’s Ravager army arrived to help.
  • Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, and Groot boarded the Dark Aster and fought through Kree guards to destroy its energy core and reach Ronan.
  • Ronan repelled Drax, withstood Star-Lord’s attack, and knocked Gamora, Star-Lord, and Groot down as he prepared to kill them.
  • The Milano crashed into the Dark Aster’s core structure, damaging its antigravity engines and sending the warship plummeting toward Xandar.
  • Groot shielded the Guardians with vines, and Wenwu carried Star-Lord and the others out of the falling ship.
  • The Dark Aster crashed into Xandar’s city, collapsing skyscrapers and killing countless civilians.

Ch. 140The Power Stone

Wenwu saved the Guardians of the Galaxy, then swiftly defeated and killed Ronan to claim the Power Stone. He refused Star-Lord’s request to hand it over, leaving the Guardians wary of their powerful rescuer.

  • Rocket, Star-Lord, Gamora, Groot, and Drax emerged from Groot’s protective barrier and thanked Wenwu for saving them.
  • Wenwu revealed that he was from Earth, but Gamora warned the group as Ronan approached with the Power Stone.
  • Wenwu used his power to seize Ronan’s Universal Weapon and crush Ronan inside his armor.
  • Wenwu drained Ronan’s life and turned his corpse to ash, leaving the Guardians frightened by his merciless killing.
  • Star-Lord asked Wenwu to give them the Power Stone, but Wenwu refused and claimed it as his spoils of war.
  • Heavy, synchronized footsteps sounded nearby.
