July 4, 2012, was also United States's Independence Day.
But today is also Captain America's birthday.
For Steve Rogers, after his parents died, only Bucky remembered his birthday.
Later, I met Peggy, Howard, and others, but it was during the war, and no one had time to think about birthdays.
Since waking up from his slumber, Captain America has gone to a quiet place every year on his birthday to wander around and reminisce about his past life, the people and events that have happened there.
Originally, they planned to spend their birthdays at the base looking at the night sky, but Stark said he wanted to upgrade the base, so Qin Xiao and Natasha said they wanted to go out and explore.
Dr. Banner was hiding in the lab, doing something unknown, so Thor went to find Jane.
For a moment, the Captain, who was used to keeping himself fully occupied every day, was at a loss as to what to do after the base was closed.
It seems that ever since he returned from meeting Peggy, he has become more sentimental than before and seems to dislike feeling alone.
Especially since it was his birthday, the Captain didn't want to be alone on the empty Stark Tower.
So he ran out in casual clothes, and unexpectedly ended up back at his own museum in New York City.
Looking at the photos on the wall, and the incredibly familiar introductions about myself.
It all feels like it happened just recently, yet it feels so distant.
Especially that photo of himself with Bucky. If he hadn't crashed, Bucky would definitely have taken him out for drinks to celebrate.
With a faint, self-deprecating smile, the Captain was just about to turn and leave.
I bet you're the first person in the world to visit their own museum!
A cheerful voice came from behind.
The Captain turned around abruptly, only to find that it was someone he didn't recognize, a rather robust-looking Black man.
They were looking at me with a big smile on their faces.
How did you recognize me?
The Captain realized he was being a little too nervous, gave a self-deprecating laugh, and asked.
"The glass case around the photo is reflecting light! It's not very clear, but I'm a huge fan!"
The burly Black man pointed to the glass case of the photo of Bucky that the Captain had been looking at and said...
"Hello, Captain, my name is Sam, Sam Wilson. I used to be in the 58th Airborne Rescue Division, and now I work at the Veterans Affairs Department. By the way, I came to New York today specifically to visit your museum, even though I've been here many times before!"
Sam Wilson smiled and extended his hand to the Captain.
" Steve Rogers!"
The Captain politely introduced himself.
"You're the only one here who doesn't need to introduce yourself. So, how are you getting used to this world after the thawing?"
Sam Wilson struck the Captain as a natural fit, perhaps because they were both soldiers in the past. The two of them naturally strolled around the museum together and chatted.
"Thankfully, the food is so much better than before, the clothes are much prettier, and the internet is amazing! I spend several hours a day browsing all sorts of things on it, trying not to be left behind by the times!"
Sam Wilson told the Captain about some interesting things that had happened over the years, about the military, music, and some interesting news.
The Captain acted as Sam Wilson's guide, telling him stories from the past in relation to the exhibits in the museum.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Captain. It's a pity I have to rush back to Washington early tomorrow morning, otherwise we would definitely have a good drink together. It's Saturday today, though. By the way, if you come to Washington, remember to contact me. Your experience will definitely be a great help to veterans who want to reintegrate into society!"
"Must!"
The Captain and Sam Wilson got along very well and exchanged contact information.
The Captain suddenly felt a little lonely after they parted ways.
That's because, as Sam Wilson just said, today is Saturday.
Peggy Carter's date with him was also on a Saturday.
The Captain remembers clearly that he apologized to Peggy on the plane, saying that the dance appointment might have to be postponed.
Peggy told him: It's okay, next Saturday, Stork Club.
If I had survived and gone to that club, I wonder what my life would be like now, whether I would still be alive, and whether my name would be on the wall of the founders of S.H.I.E.L.D..
As he was thinking, someone suddenly called his name.
"Sir, sir, I have a terrible day. I made plans to go dancing with my girlfriend at the club, but something came up and I can't go. I have to leave New York right away, but I can't get through to her on the phone. Could you please tell her for me? Otherwise, she'll definitely leave me. Please, sir!"
"A club? Dancing? Saturday! God, am I possessed today?"
The Captain muttered a few words to himself, then looked up at the boy who looked to be no more than twenty years old.
"I'm sorry, your excuse is terrible. I know there are a lot of scammers out there, but your excuse is really lame. Where are there any clubs anymore...?"
The boy interrupted the Captain before he could finish speaking.
"Sir, I really didn't lie to you. There really is such a club, at 177A Bleecker Street, the Stork Club. You must believe me, sir!"
As the little boy spoke, he handed the Captain a club business card.
The words "Stork Club" struck the Captain's Mind Stone like a bolt of lightning.
" Stork Club?"
The Captain looked at the business card, which only had an address and the club's name. He turned it over and saw a line of text written on the back.
Stork Club, helping you rediscover your lost time!
When I looked up again, the little boy was nowhere to be seen.
The Captain froze on the street for a moment!
this...
This sudden turn of events made the Captain realize that something was definitely wrong.
I took out my phone and searched for the address, and it showed that this was an old-fashioned antique furniture store.
"I really am..."
The Captain's first thought was to throw the business card away, but the words on it seemed to have some kind of magic, drawing Captain eyes in.
"Okay! I'll go check it out. If it's a scam, I can treat it as a good thing for myself on my birthday!"
With this in mind, the Captain went directly to the location of the New York Sanctum.
This building looks a lot like the antique furniture stores I found on my phone; it has that retro style.
I looked inside and saw the lights were on, but I couldn't see anything clearly from the outside.
The Captain steadied himself and pushed open the door!
