Meanwhile.
Hell's Kitchen, New York.
Although the Justice League's reputation in Los Angeles had made the criminals here rein themselves in somewhat, evil still festered in the shadows.
In a secluded, foul-smelling alley.
A group of thugs had cornered a trembling girl against a wall.
"Hand over your money and jewelry! Now!" the leader threatened viciously.
Just as the girl was about to take out her wallet in despair.

"First, put down your knives, apologize to this lady, and turn yourselves in at the police station."
"Second, I break your legs and throw you outside the police station."
"Third..."
Before Matt could finish, the leader charged at him with an angry roar.
"Die, you blind bastard!"
Matt shifted slightly to one side, easily dodging the knife thrust at him.
His cane immediately flashed out like lightning, striking the thug's wrist in an instant.
"Crack!"
The sound of breaking bone rang out, and the thug fell to the ground screaming.
The other two thugs saw what had happened and turned to flee in terror.
But Matt was faster, and he quickly put them both on
