The crowd grew larger and larger.
Shortly after, several interview vehicles bearing the logos of different television stations arrived.
Reporters jumped out of the car carrying cameras, shoving microphones directly in front of the two men.
" Mr. Superman! Is your appearance today part of the Justice League's routine operations?"
"Miss Spider-Woman! What is your relationship with Mr. Superman?"
"What are the Justice League's next plans?"
Luca was perfectly at ease with the swarm of cameras and microphones.
He smiled and waved to the surrounding crowd.
"Hi everyone! Nothing major, just routine patrol. Making sure every street in Los Angeles is safe."
He pointed to Gwen Stacy next to him.
"I don't need to introduce her, right? Spider-Woman, a core member of the Justice League."
"Tonight, she single-handedly subdued several armed robbers, perfectly cooperating with the police operation."
Luca gave a thumbs-up to the camera.
"To be honest, she got there much earlier than me. By the time I arrived, the bad guy had already been packed up and handed over to the police."
"So, the real hero tonight isn't me, it's her, and it's all of you busy police officers!"
These words surprised Gwen Stacy somewhat.
She thought Luca would try to steal the credit or say something flippant.
Unexpectedly, he voluntarily gave the credit to himself in front of the media.
Although she knew this might also be some kind of marketing tactic.
But it must be admitted that this tactic is hard to dislike.
The effect is very obvious.
The reporters immediately turned their cameras to Gwen Stacy.
" Spider-Woman! What's your opinion of Mr. Superman?"
Gwen Stacy paused for a moment, her expression somewhat subtle.
She was silent for a moment, then said something.
"He talks too much."
Everyone was stunned for a moment.
Then, the surrounding citizens and reporters all burst into laughter.
Luca laughed along, seemingly unperturbed.
"Yes, I do talk a lot. But you have to admit, every word I say is useful."
Gwen Stacy couldn't help but curl her lips into a slight smile.
"You think it's useful just because you say so? Then I could say your cape is too long, aren't you afraid of tripping over it?"
"Sorry, I don't walk; I usually fly. Also, this isn't a trip, it's a graceful landing."
Several bursts of laughter and whistles rang out from the crowd.
A young girl shouted something from the crowd.
Are you two together?!
Luca and Gwen Stacy both looked in the direction of the sound.
Then they spoke almost simultaneously, as if on cue.
No.
No.
But strangely enough, after they finished speaking, they both looked at each other at the same time.
Their gazes met for a fleeting moment in mid-air.
Gwen Stacy was the first to look away, pretending to adjust the Silk- shooters on her wrist.
Luca remained expressionless in front of the camera.
"Please don't speculate. We're just teammates. Purely platonic, righteous teammates with only revolutionary camaraderie."
Gwen Stacy rolled her eyes behind the mask.
Can you please stop using the word "pure" when you speak?!
The way you're saying it sounds like you're making a sexual innuendo.
Besides, aren't you a world away from purity?
The interview lasted a few more minutes.
Luca dealt with reporters in the same way as last time.
It was approachable yet didn't make definitive statements; it answered questions without revealing any truly valuable information.
Gwen Stacy listened quietly the whole time.
She had to admit, this guy was really good with words.
In public, he was like a fish.
You think you've got him, but then your hand slips and he swims away.
After the interviews, the reporters went their separate ways, satisfied.
The citizens gradually dispersed, but almost everyone left with a smile on their face.
A night spent interacting with superheroes in person is enough for them to post on social media for a week.
The streets gradually quieted down.
The streetlights cast long shadows on the two of them.
I looked around; there was no one there, so it was safe.
Gwen Stacy seemed to have made up her mind.
The next second, she took off her hood, revealing blonde hair.
This was the first time she revealed her true appearance, or rather, the first time she showed her true form to Luca.
She pursed her lips and glanced at Luca.
But she found that Luca was very calm and was staring at her intently.
This puzzled Gwen Stacy.
What does this mean?!
Am I that ugly?!
"Are you really here on patrol?"
"Of course. Do you think I'm here to pursue you?"
Gwen Stacy paused, her heart beating a little faster.
"You're overthinking it."
"I was indeed overthinking it," Luca nodded, his tone sincere.
"But I wouldn't be surprised if I ran into you again on the next patrol."
"That sounds like you know my patrol route."
"I'm Superman. I can hear conversations dozens of kilometers away. Do you think I need to deliberately investigate your route?"
Gwen Stacy pursed her lips but didn't reply.
But she had to admit that this bastard had a way of talking that had a way of putting people at ease.
You know he's playing tricks on you, but you still feel that being tricked by him isn't a big deal.
This feeling made Gwen Stacy somewhat wary, and at the same time, somewhat... curious.
"I'm leaving," Gwen Stacy said.
"I have class tomorrow."
"Life as an exchange student is tough. During the day, you listen to professors recite scriptures; at night, you're out catching bad guys."
"It's still more fulfilling than some people's lives of partying during the day and partying at night."
Luca was amused by that remark.
"If you need help, you have my contact information."
"I know."
Gwen Stacy shot out Silk and swung lightly.
Just as she was about to disappear over the edge of the rooftop, Luca heard a very soft voice.
"Your cape looks really cool today. Although I hate to admit it."
Luca paused for a moment, then chuckled softly.
I don't know if she said it to herself on purpose.
But with his hearing, whispering at that distance was no different from speaking right next to his ear.
JARVIS.
"Yes, Mr. Luca."
How was today's patrol rating?
"From a public relations perspective, your interaction with Spider-Woman tonight has been reported by at least twelve media outlets. We expect a significant boost in social media buzz tomorrow morning."
"Based on the stock's impact, I predict that Stark Industries will see a 2% to 5% increase in pre-market trading tomorrow."
"Very good."
Luca's feet left the ground, and he slowly rose into the air.
"Let's continue tomorrow."
