Dozens of motorcycles crashed through the construction site's barbed wire fence without slowing down.
Those thugs didn't care about tactics at all.
They brandished baseball bats with nails hanging from them, rusty fire axes, and even chainsaws dripping with oil.
"For Mr. J! For the Joker Gang!"
A thug with a mohawk yelled wildly and revved the engine, lifting the front wheel of his motorcycle high into the air and crushing the nearest black-clad ninja.
The ninja slid half a step to the side just before the tire was about to crush him, a flash of cold light in his hand.
The motorcycle's front wheel bearing was neatly cut off.
The car lost its balance, and the thug flew into a pile of cement, but he was still the Batman Who Laughs when he got up. He grabbed a wrench and lunged at the ninja's throat.
Chaos erupted completely.
The Hand's ninjas undergo extremely rigorous training, and every strike is aimed at a fatal spot.
But there were too many thugs, and they were not afraid of death, or even pain. Some people had their hands cut off, yet they still tried to tear off the ninja's mask with their remaining hand.
High atop the towering crane, the Joker, like a king sitting on a throne, swung his legs and turned the volume knob of the stolen megaphone to its maximum.
"Now that's more interesting! Welcome to tonight's prime-time special!"
"The blue team on the left is from our Hell's Kitchen's ' The Batman Who Laughs Club'! Their defining characteristics are fearlessness and a completely offline mind!"
"The red team on the right is from... uh, some unknown country's 'Mute Gymnastics Team'! Their characteristics are strict discipline and they never speak! Let's see if a madman can bite a mute to death or a mute can stab a madman to death! Place your bets! Place your bets now!"
The Joker, beaming with delight, treated this carnage as the ultimate Saturday night entertainment.
Daredevil on the other side processed all the details below into his brain.
The heartbeat was too chaotic.
The Joker Gang's men's hearts pounded uncontrollably, a mixture of the Batman Who Laughs and screams—proof that their adrenaline was burning to its limit.
But those men in black...
That's strange.
Their heart rates were ridiculously slow, only around thirty beats per minute.
Even when wielding a knife to kill, the frequency remained completely unchanged.
This is not a physiological characteristic that ordinary humans should have.
Daredevil's brow was furrowed.
How many more monsters will Hell's Kitchen bring?
Kingpin and ruthless followers have not yet been completely wiped out.
The Joker, that complete madman, is still setting fires everywhere.
The Punisher, that walking arsenal, would occasionally show up and wreak Carnage.
Now a group of highly trained assassins has emerged.
When did this place become a melting pot of villains?
We can't wait any longer; if we wait any longer, this place will become a dumping ground for corpses.
Daredevil leaped from the roof of a five-story building.
He swung his Billy stick, the hook tangled around a steel beam, and using the momentum of the swing, smashed it directly into the very center of the battle!
Thump!
A ninja who was about to execute a thug was kicked in the chest by two feet that fell from the sky.
"Hey! That pervert in the red bodysuit is here too!"
Instead of being grateful for being rescued, one of the thugs next to him excitedly waved the iron chain.
"That's mine! I'm going to saw his head off and use it as a wine glass!"
The thug's chains whistled through the air as they slammed into Daredevil's head.
Daredevil used his short stick to block the chain's clasp, then used his wrist to pull the thug off balance and elbowed him in the chin.
The thug rolled his eyes, spat out a mouthful of blood and two teeth, and slumped unconscious.
"It's a pleasure to meet you too."
Daredevil uttered a cold sentence.
At that moment, two ninjas had already silently crept up behind him.
Daredevil turned around, and his short stick collided with two samurai swords.
"When!"
This isn't right.
" Daredevil..."
Madame Gao stood atop a pile of construction debris, with two guards shielding her from the splashing mud.
She squinted her cloudy old eyes, watching with great interest the red figure weaving through the crowd.
"I didn't expect this city to have such a person," Madame Gao said in a low voice in Japanese, her tone tinged with disdain. "It's nothing but the tricks of mortals."
"Should we kill him?"
"The ninja next to me asked."
"No." Madame Gao glanced at the Joker on the crane, then at the rioters rushing in.
The sound of police sirens could already be faintly heard in the distance.
But if the commotion gets too big, that "god" in the Stars and Stripes cape might just fly down from the sky.
Now is not the time to reveal the Hand's true strength.
"Mission canceled, retreat."
Madame Gao slammed her cane heavily on the ground.
The dozens of ninjas who were fighting suddenly stopped at the same time.
The synchronized movements were chilling.
The next second, they pulled a black sphere from their waist and slammed it hard onto the ground.
"Bang!"
Thick black smoke burst forth, heavy and spreading rapidly along the ground, quickly engulfing the entire construction site.
Daredevil covered his mouth and nose, but he could still smell the stench of rotting earth.
His Radar Sense were severely impaired by the smoke, and the outlines of the ninjas became blurred.
"Trying to run away?"
Daredevil let out a low growl and flung his short stick, the rope-tethered end of which flew toward the nearest ninja.
We must capture one of them alive!
He needed to know which hell these inhuman creatures had crawled out of!
The stick struck the target, wrapping around the opponent's ankle and pulling forcefully.
No one fell to the ground.
The black ninja outfit floated lightly to the ground; it was empty inside.
Only a clump of grayish-black dust spilled out from the collar, quickly merging into the muddy water.
The smoke cleared.
Apart from the corpses of the rioters scattered on the ground and the wounded still groaning in pain, all the men in black had vanished.
"Sh--"
A loud whistle came from overhead.
The Joker remained seated on the crane, holding the stolen walkie-talkie, his voice filled with disappointment.
"Terrible! What is this? A magic show? Making people disappear and come back to life? I bought a ticket and this is what you show me?"
Daredevil looked up, his red eyes locking onto the figure on the crane.
"Get down." His voice was low, suppressing his anger. "What have you done to deserve this?"
"Me? Provoked?"
The Joker pointed to his own nose, looking completely innocent.
"Innocent, Your Honor! I'm just a law-abiding real estate developer! I wanted to turn this beautiful building into the world's largest circus, to bring some laughter to this boring city. Who knew these guys in black pajamas would suddenly appear and say this is their lucky spot, and construction can't begin."
"My primary goal was clearly to find the Kingpin and play hide-and-seek!"
The Joker took off the construction hard hat and tossed it aside.
"But speaking of which, Little Red Riding Hood."
"You seem to be in good spirits lately? Have you found a new outlet for your frustrations?"
