Earlier, accompanied by Bronya, Bai Heng once again arrived at Klippfort's administrative hall.
As Belobog's representative, his authority was on equal footing with Bronya Rand's. All internal affairs had to be jointly decided by the two of them.
"This is the financial report since I succeeded the Supreme Guardian." Bronya handed Bai Heng a paper document.
Leaning against the floor-to-ceiling windows of the hall, Bai Heng reviewed Belobog's recent fiscal expenditures.
The Silvermane Guards' military budget had risen noticeably over a period of time. Clearly, after the Upper and Lower Districts had reopened access to each other, Silvermane Guards needed to be stationed in both areas.
That required increasing the number of Silvermane Guards, which in turn led to a substantial rise in military spending.
"Now that I have cleared out every Fragmentum creature in Belobog's Upper and Lower Districts, the Silvermane Guards in the Lower District can be recalled," Bai Heng reminded her.
Bronya stood at his side.
"As for that, I already had Gepard take care of it. Only a small number of Silvermane Guards and automatons remain in the Lower District to maintain order and security."
"But the biggest source of the fiscal deficit doesn't seem to be here."
Bai Heng turned another page of the financial report, where an enormous expenditure was recorded for something called the "Geological Reconstruction Project Unit Reactivation Plan."
"This is the Creation Engine," Bronya explained. "The name in the document is this machine's original designation. It is an ecological reconstruction unit developed entirely by Belobog's people, and it was once deployed as a weapon of war against the Antimatter Legion."
"Oh?" Bai Heng's interest was piqued.
"Miss Bronya, would it be convenient for you to show me its true form now?"
"To inspect the Creation Engine's repair work on site..." Bronya
