Bai Heng's hand against his chest gradually loosened. His ink-gold eyes froze slightly as he reached forward, yet feared that all he would grasp was a clump of cold mist.

Bai Heng did not answer. The cold wind of the winter night stirred his hair, and after a long while, he finally chuckled.
"Before that, accompany me in finishing one last thing."
"What?" Silver Wolf blinked her gray eyes and asked.
"I hold grudges." Bai Heng raised his gaze toward the drones circling the skyline, their red lights flashing. "Before we leave, let's give Punklorde Network Corporation headquarters a farewell gift."
Bai Heng stood atop the skyscraper, countless lights shining upon him and the girl behind him.
Then he turned his back, spread his arms, and leaned backward, falling from the towering building that pierced the clouds, as though presenting the people in the plaza below with one final curtain-call performance.
People's gazes followed his descent.
The neon lights of the city shone over him, colors of every kind gleaming in the heart of the metropolis.
And just as Bai Heng came within a dozen meters of the armed convoy on the ground, the holographic pistol at his waist sprang out and reconfigured itself midair.
In merely a few moments, the holographic weapon had transformed into a modified motorcycle in blue and white-gold, its exhaust spewing smoky cyan flames.
