Ch. 681Shrouding the Heavens: Beginning with the Devouring Heaven Demon Jar
After the Buddhist attempt to ascend the Road to Immortality ended in catastrophe, Shi Ming rescued the surviving Buddhas and guided the wounded Victorious Fighting Buddha through his heart demon. The Victorious Fighting Buddha attained the Quasi-Emperor realm, while the survivors set out to rebuild the Shakya Sect.
- The Road to Immortality shattered, killing nearly all the Buddhist cultivators and destroying Mount Sumeru and much of the Great Thunderclap Temple.
- The Fighting Saint Buddha survived the immortal laws with the Immortal-Beating Staff, but Shi Ming used a purple iron chain to rescue him and three other dying Buddhas.
- Shi Ming returned the Immortal Iron Staff and told the Victorious Fighting Buddha that his attachment to the immemorial era and the six senses had kept him from entering the Quasi-Emperor realm.
- Shi Ming used the six-syllable maxim and Great Dao scriptures to help the Victorious Fighting Buddha face and overcome his heart demon.
- The Victorious Fighting Buddha attained enlightenment and became a Quasi-Emperor, then he and the other monks followed Shi Ming's road toward the Western Desert to gather the dead and rebuild the Shakya Sect.
