Li Mudan first encounters Yang Lie at Source Water Village after detecting, with extraordinary precision, that he had consumed a spirit fruit thirty-six minutes earlier. Though she appears to be a petite girl, she is nineteen years old and possesses 1.5 billion Federal Currency. She attempts to purchase the fruit Yang Lie consumed and later seeks friendship with him in exchange for life-origin-enhancing resources. 126 129 130

A direct descendant of the Li Family, Li Mudan is protected by her guardian Tian Tao Tao. She possesses extraordinary talent but little understanding of ordinary social relationships; she initially believes that being someone's girlfriend means receiving unconditional financial support and good food. 129 130

Li Mudan accompanies Yang Lie during his infiltration of the Seventh Blood God Sect.
