Background and History

The Lin Auction House was initially operated entirely by Lin Yuan, who introduced himself at its first auction as both its owner and its only employee. His God-Level Auction System had bound itself to him three days before the opening chapter, upon his advancement to Soul Elder. The system supplied selections of auction goods and required him to sell everything he chose; greater Gold Soul Coin earnings produced better rewards 1 5.

Its first invitations immediately attracted both interest and hostility. Chen Xin and Gu Rong suspected fraud, while Qian Renxue interpreted an invitation identifying her true identity as a threat to her undercover mission and planned to destroy the establishment. After discovering the powerful guests gathered there, she abandoned an immediate attack 1 2 4.

Zhu Zhuqing became involved through Dai Mubai’s purchase of the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger Bloodline on credit. He put her up as collateral and left to obtain payment, but failed to return by the deadline. Dai Weisi subsequently offered to settle his brother’s bill. After Dai Weisi and Zhu Zhuyun declined to take Zhu Zhuqing, she became a member of the auction house and was entrusted with running its first small auction 21 26 29 31 50 54.

Bidding and Payment

• Highest bidder wins. The first auction establishes a starting price of one Gold Soul Coin for every lot 5.
• Automatic checkout. Guests swipe their cards at the entrance machine to settle their bills before leaving 22 50 69.
• Credit purchases. A buyer must pay a 30% deposit and settle the balance within seven days. The auction house retains the lot until payment is complete; default forfeits the deposit and the buyer’s claim to the item 14.
• Held balances. Lin Yuan agrees to retain the Snow Empress’s unused one million Gold Soul Coins for a later auction 22.
• Treasure collateral. Xue Ye offers the Vast Sea Cosmic Shroud as collateral while bidding for the Space-Time Dragon Martial Soul. The system values it at 800 million Gold Soul Coins 73.
• Risk disclosure. Lin Yuan explains that unsuitable users of the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger Bloodline may become an evil god’s puppets, and that the Slaughter Angel’s self-aware spirit, Xila, can threaten its owner 20 44.
• No contract-killing service. Lin Yuan explicitly denies offering such a side business when Qian Renxue asks 54.

Security and Conduct

• No fighting at the entrance. Lin Yuan announces this rule when Spirit Hall’s representatives confront the Far North Soul Beasts outside 3 4.
• Attempted theft is punished. When Tang Hao tries to seize the Green Lotus Sword, Lin Yuan uses system-controlled power to pin him helplessly to the floor 6.
• First-offense penalty. Tang Hao is given ten seconds to choose between losing an arm and his tongue or surrendering two Soul Bones at least ten thousand years old 6.
• Protection of customers. Lin Yuan regards protecting Soul Beast patrons as necessary to preserve their willingness to return and the auction house’s long-term business 23.
• Ownership is enforced against powerful claimants. Lin Yuan refuses the Silver Dragon King’s demand that he surrender the Dragon-Slaying Saber, insisting that she bid or attempt to take it by force 49.

• Invitations are tailored to recipients’ interests and can identify concealed identities, including Qian Renxue beneath her Xue Qinghe disguise 1 2.
• The house offers a pickup service using a golden pillar of space-time power. This transports Xuan Zi from Shrek Academy ten thousand years in the future to the fourth auction 71.
• The first auction also offers Ye Qingmei, a Level 98 Angel Douluo brought from ten thousand years in the future. Lin Yuan refuses to disclose how she reached the present era 21.

First Auction

All nine lots are sold. The event brings together Spirit Hall, major sect representatives, Star Luo royalty, Slaughter City experts, and powerful Soul Beasts 4 15 22.

Second Auction

The second auction introduces Battle Armor, an Auspicious Beast, a God-Level Martial Soul, and the house’s first divine artifact. All nine lots are sold 34 36 44 47 50.

Third Auction: First Small Auction

Zhu Zhuqing makes her auctioneering debut before a guest list drawn largely from academies, younger Soul Masters, and their accompanying elders 54 55.

Fourth Auction

The fourth auction fills all ten sofas and expands the guest list to include Xuan Zi, the Silver Dragon King, the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King, and imperial rulers. Zhu Zhuqing again serves as auctioneer 58 71.

• Space-Time Dragon Martial Soul — The opening lot attracts competition from the Silver Dragon King, the White Tiger Emperor, Xuan Zi, and Xue Ye. Xue Ye raises the bid to 300 million Gold Soul Coins after offering the Vast Sea Cosmic Shroud as collateral. Qian Renxue is later shown beginning to absorb it as her third Martial Soul 72 73 74.
