"Just two Gold Soul Coins. What do you think it can do?"
Osler glanced at the phone Yu Feng was pointing at and asked casually.
They had come to buy wrist guards today.
They had not even begun choosing anything when a newly displayed counter by the door caught Yu Feng's eye. He stood there, refusing to leave.
"Why don't we take a look and find out?"
As Yu Feng spoke, he reached out and picked up the demo phone from the table.
But after turning it over in his hands, he still could not figure out how to use the thin device.
There was not even a place to pour Soul Power into it.
Seeing this, Lu Ye smiled.
"Press the side."
Yu Feng did as he was told.
The next second, the dark screen lit up.
"Huh?"
He had only just begun to grow curious when Lu Ye reached over and opened Douyin.
An old man in white stood atop a cliff, a longsword like clear crystal in his hand.
The casual look on Yu Feng's face vanished completely.
Before he could speak, Chen Xin raised his longsword on the screen.
A flash of sword light swept past!
With a thunderous boom, the distant cliff face split from top to bottom, and shattered stone tumbled into the valley amid clouds of dust.
Yu Feng stared, dumbstruck.
Osler, who had been standing beside him, had drawn close at some point and was staring fixedly at the sword mark on the phone.
"His Majesty Sword Douluo?"
"That's right. It was filmed just a few days ago," Lu Ye said.
"You filmed it?"
Yu Feng instinctively looked up and took another look at the young man before him.
Someone who could stand beside Sword Douluo, see him strike with his own eyes, and even preserve that strike was clearly no ordinary shop assistant.
Lu Ye did not introduce himself, however. He simply pointed at the phone.
"Want to keep watching?"
"Yes!"
The two answered almost in unison.
And so the sword strike appeared on the phone once more.
This time, they watched even more intently than before.
From the moment Chen Xin raised his hand to the fall of the sword light, they missed nothing, not even the last pieces of rubble rolling down.
But just as they finished watching, Lu Ye swiped upward.
Yu Feng instinctively tried to stop him.
The next moment, an enormous, ghastly white Bone Dragon filled the screen.
To the sound of low drumbeats, its massive bony wings spread to either side, and its dragon head slowly lowered, its empty eye sockets seeming to stare at them.
Yu Feng immediately swallowed the words he had been about to say.
Bone Douluo!
There was even Bone Douluo!
Osler leaned forward without realizing it. The hand that had been holding a wrist guard remained in the same position as before, unmoving for quite some time.
Lu Ye looked at their expressions and chuckled inwardly.
For two Gold Soul Coins, they could see the Martial Souls and attacks of two Titled Douluo.
For some Soul Masters, a deal like this probably required no thought at all.
But today, he did not intend to show his customers only the two seniors.
When the Bone Dragon video ended, he casually swiped upward again.
On the screen, Liu Ruyan stood by a window and slowly raised her right hand to a lively tune.
Her hand blocked the camera.
When it lowered again, her dance outfit had been replaced by a light-colored qipao, and her hairstyle had changed as well.
The whole clip was very short, but she looked like a different person afterward.
Yu Feng blinked.
"How did her clothes change?"
"She changed beforehand, and then the two clips were joined together."
Lu Ye offered a brief explanation.
The two had just wanted to watch it again when a head suddenly appeared beside them.
"Could you play that last one again?"
The speaker was a young man of twenty-six or twenty-seven, neatly dressed and wearing a sword at his waist. Two young adult Soul Masters followed behind him.
The young man was Gu Zheng. He usually cultivated alone and occasionally did jobs for merchant caravans. Today, he had happened to bring two acquaintances who had just arrived in Heaven Dou to choose weapons.
The three had originally heard the commotion and come over to see what new goods were available.
But as soon as they drew near, they saw Liu Ruyan on the screen.
Gu Zheng took one look and could no longer bring himself to move.
The woman on the screen had delicate, lovely features and a composed manner. When she turned to the music, her outfit, so different from her usual dance clothes, made him want to look a little longer.
At a banquet, he naturally could not keep staring at someone.
But with a phone between them, he had no such concerns.
As soon as he spoke, the two behind him nodded at once.
"Right, we didn't get a clear look just now."
Before Lu Ye could answer, Yu Feng turned his head and glanced at Gu Zheng.
"You want to see how her clothes changed?"
Gu Zheng gave a light cough.
"This Soul Tool is indeed rather unusual."
Osler looked at him, then at Yu Feng, and the corner of his mouth twitched.
Lu Ye, meanwhile, promptly reopened the video.
This time, not one person in front of the counter spoke.
Even after the music ended, Gu Zheng still wanted more.
He was just about to speak again when Lu Ye pressed the screen lock button first.
The screen went black.
Everyone's gaze came to a halt with it.
"That's it?"
"There's more afterward. But if you want to keep watching, you'll have to buy one yourselves."
Lu Ye pointed to the price tag at the side, a smile on his face.
"Two Gold Soul Coins. If you don't buy one, you can't keep watching."
The moment he finished speaking, Yu Feng pulled the money straight from his pouch.
"I'll buy one. Get me one."
"Aren't you looking at wrist guards?" Osler asked.
"I'll buy this first. Besides, buying a phone doesn't mean I can't buy wrist guards."
Yu Feng answered with complete confidence.
Chen Shun immediately took out a new phone and placed it on the counter.
As soon as Yu Feng got his hands on it, he switched it on the way Lu Ye had just shown him and eagerly searched for Chen Xin's sword strike.
Osler stood beside him and watched for a while before finally taking out two Gold Soul Coins as well.
"Get me one too."
"Didn't you say we should pick out wrist guards first?" Yu Feng said with a smile.
"I want to film my own turning movements and see what's wrong with them."
"I can film you too."
"Once you've filmed it, you won't lend me your phone."
Yu Feng opened his mouth, but found he had no reply.
With the two of them already holding phones, Gu Zheng's two companions also took out their money.
Unlike Gu Zheng, they had only seen something so novel for the first time today, and they feared that if they hesitated for even a moment, other people would buy up all the phones on the counter.
Gu Zheng, however, remained where he was.
Of course he wanted to buy one too.
But on the way here, he had just reminded the two of them not to spend money recklessly whenever they saw something new. If he paid for one himself now, how could he have the face to lecture them again later?
But if he did not buy one...
He glanced again at the demo phone, its screen now dark.
He had not even gotten a clear look at the woman's name.
As he hesitated, the young man behind him took a new phone and offered it to him with a smile.
"Brother Gu, sorry for troubling you to walk with us along more than half the street today. It's just a little token of our appreciation, so please don't refuse."
Gu Zheng was taken aback at first, then waved a hand with a perfectly serious expression.
"You've only just arrived in Heaven Dou, and you still have plenty of things to buy. Why spend the money?"
"It's only two Gold Soul Coins."
"You can't put it that way. Two coins are still money."
Though that was what he said, he nevertheless reached out and accepted the phone.
Behind the counter, Lu Ye lowered his head and straightened the wooden boxes so his smile would not be too obvious.
The customer had spent so long refusing, yet he had taken it quite firmly.
Gu Zheng seemed to feel he had accepted it too quickly. He immediately looked at the two of them and said seriously, "Still, this phone's ability to record images really is useful. If you film your practice and watch it carefully afterward, it's much clearer than relying on memory alone."
The two immediately nodded repeatedly.
"You're right, Brother Gu."
"That's what we thought too."
With that, they crowded around Chen Shun and asked where to find the clothes-changing video from earlier.
Gu Zheng's expression froze, but in the end, he said nothing more.
Lu Ye watched the scene and already had a good idea.
Some customers came here for Sword Douluo.
Some bought one to watch themselves.
And others talked about how convenient filming was, while their fingers kept tapping the dancer's name.
Who cared what they actually wanted to watch?
The phones had sold, anyway!
Chen Shun put the newly received coins into the cash box. Their crisp clinks made Lu Ye feel more at ease than ever.
And this was only the beginning.
Because, at some point, several more customers had appeared behind the counter, pretending to choose protective gear while their eyes kept darting this way.
