Qin Xun's mind jolted!

It was so late. He Laowu shouldn't have come!

He had watched He Laowu for a long time.

At this hour, He Laowu should have been at the Drunken Moon House, drinking himself into a stupor and groping the bunny girls who worked there!

He hurriedly shut the safe, looked around the room, then quickly hid under the desk and drew a sharp dagger, gripping it in his hand.

Just as he settled into hiding, the office door was gently pushed open, then gently closed again.

The young man in a suit who entered first glanced around the room, then fixed his gaze on the safe in the corner.

Qin Xun breathed softly, but his wildly pounding heart still betrayed his nervousness.

He heard the safe being opened, followed by footsteps moving around the room.

"Come out!" a cold voice called.

A drop of cold sweat ran down Qin Xun's forehead.

Judging by the voice, it wasn't He Laowu!

He stayed put until the voice spoke again. "Don't tell me I have to pull you out from under the desk myself?"

Qin Xun put the special medicine in the inner pocket of his clothes, made sure it was secure, and stood up.

As luck would have it, the dark clouds parted just then, and bright moonlight streamed through the window onto the suited young man's face.

"It's you!" Qin Xun was somewhat surprised to see that it was He Laowu's assistant, Lin Cheng.

"I didn't expect it to be you, either." Lin Cheng gave a snort of laughter. "You're a little smarter than I thought."

"What are you doing here?"

"He Laowu sent me to fetch something for him. I didn't expect to catch a thief for him too!"

Qin Xun's palms broke out in a nervous sweat.

He forced himself to calm down, his thoughts racing.

"Are you sure He Laowu sent you? You didn't sneak in here on your own?"

"Why would I sneak in? To be a thief like you?"

"Maybe..." Qin Xun pointed at the ceiling. "You haven't turned on the lights since you came in. I'm guessing you don't dare."

Qin Xun was taking a gamble, betting that Lin Cheng's purpose in coming here wasn't so simple!

"Who says I don't dare?" Lin Cheng took two steps back and put his hand on the light switch.

Several seconds passed, but he still didn't dare press it.

"Brat, you guessed right. So what? I'm a thief, and so are you!"

Lin Cheng's voice turned cold. "Hand over what was in the safe!"

"I didn't take anything from the safe. You got here before I had a chance to open it."

Qin Xun didn't know whether he should be glad he'd arrived first and gotten his hands on the contents of the safe.

The corner of Lin Cheng's mouth twitched. "You think I'd believe something you'd tell a three-year-old?"

"I really didn't take it. If you don't believe me, come search me!"

"To tell you the truth, I rather admire you. You entered the arena over ninety times to save your sister. Hand the things over before I make a move, and I can let you go."

After weighing the pros and cons, Qin Xun took the black bag full of gold coins out of his backpack and threw it to Lin Cheng.

Lin Cheng caught it, opened the bag, and peered inside. A smile spread across his face, and he looked back at Qin Xun. "There's the special medicine too. Hand that over as well!"

The bag of gold coins was a considerable fortune, but the special medicine was worth even more!

Qin Xun frowned. "Don't go too far. You know my sister needs the special medicine to save her life."

Lin Cheng sneered and said coldly, "What does your sister's life or death have to do with me?"

"I've given you the gold coins. If I give you the special medicine too, wouldn't I have come here for nothing?"

"At least you can keep your life."

"My life? I entered the arena ninety-nine times just to get the special medicine. You think I'd give it to you to stay alive?" Qin Xun raised his dagger, its edge gleaming. "If you really want it, come and take it!"

He could give up the gold coins.

But he wouldn't hand over the special medicine, even if He Laowu himself stood before him.

Lin Cheng gave him a contemptuous look and reached behind himself.

The next second!

A dark gun barrel was aimed at Qin Xun's head!

Qin Xun looked at the dagger in his hand, then at the black pistol in Lin Cheng's.

I've got a "fuck" in my heart, and I don't know if I should say it.

If I'd known, I'd have gotten a gun too!

Even one without bullets would've done!

"I don't believe you dare shoot!"

"The moment you fire, the gunshot will draw the patrol nearby, and the security downstairs will come up too. You'll be surrounded in less than two minutes! You'll die too!"

He was certain Lin Cheng wasn't crazy or mentally impaired. He would never choose to die with him!

Lin Cheng said nothing. He silently took a suppressor from his pocket and fitted it to the barrel.

Then he aimed the gun at Qin Xun again!

"Fuck!" Qin Xun cursed under his breath.

In a dim corridor, two figures stood before a wooden door, one on either side.

"Brother, are you sure you want to steal from this place? The kid who lives here is a tough customer who's won more than ninety matches in the Killing Arena!"

"Precisely because he's won more than ninety matches, he's bound to have plenty of money! Besides, so what if he's won more than ninety matches? He's still just a green kid who isn't even eighteen, and we've got a weapon!"

The older of the two young men gently pushed open the heavy wooden door and drew a homemade hand cannon from his waist.

The faint noise alerted the white-haired girl lying in bed. "Brother, is that you?"

The two young men exchanged a glance and headed toward the girl's room.

They had already scoped the place out before coming and knew that, besides the kid who had won more than ninety matches in the Killing Arena, a seriously ill little girl was bedridden here!

The young man leading them was still somewhat wary of the kid.

Though he had a hand cannon, firing it would most likely draw the patrol.

So the best course was to take control of the little girl first!

They called it stealing, but it wasn't much different from robbery!

The two young men tried to move as quietly as possible, inching toward the girl's room.

Suddenly, a steel ball dropped from above.

The young man holding the hand cannon stared in puzzlement at the steel ball clattering on the floor.

The next second, the steel ball triggered a mechanism, and three crossbow bolts shot out from different directions-

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!

One struck the young man squarely in the temple!

In the darkness, the other young man had no idea what had happened. He stepped back in a panic, his right foot landing right in a bear trap.

With a loud bang, its powerful jaws crushed his leg bone.

His pig-like screams rang through the entire old building!

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!

Three more crossbow bolts.

The world fell silent...

The little girl curled up on the bed, trembling.

Three minutes later.

The heavy wooden door was pushed open again.

In the darkness, a man and a woman in black uniforms entered the room.

The woman switched on a small flashlight and looked at the two bodies lying in pools of blood. "What happened? They look like they just died!"

"Probably two thieves who fell into a trap."

The man looked around and had just taken a step forward when the floor beneath his foot sank slightly.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!

Three more crossbow bolts shot out of the darkness!

But this time, the man caught all three bolts in his hand with perfect precision.

The woman's pupils contracted. "Looks like there are quite a few traps in this room."

"Let's hope the kid's still here. Look around. If we find them, stick to the plan: take the boy and kill the girl!" The man applied just a little force, and all three bolts snapped at once.
