The troop deployment in Chambord City looked more like a fancy celebratory performance unrelated to war.
After the last twenty-two heavily armored knights struggled with all their might to move step by step to the center of the formation on the north bank, six ornately decorated carriages, each pulled by four large horses, slowly crossed the stone bridge with a crisp sound of hooves. Inside sat a group of beautiful young women, their giggles like kittens tickling the hearts of the allied soldiers. Looking at their angelic faces, countless soldiers on the opposite side drooled, suddenly filled with the courage to fight.
"That stupid King actually brought all his concubines out with him! Is this a battle or a sightseeing trip?"
The King of the allied forces were somewhat bewildered. They had heard that King Alexander of Chambord City was an idiot, but hadn't he recovered later? How come he seemed even worse than an idiot now? If he wasn't an idiot, who would be foolish enough to appear on the battlefield with a group of concubines? This was a cardinal sin in military strategy, practically courting death.
The King of the allied forces became optimistic about the upcoming battle.
To their astonishment, what followed was even more outrageous. Following the six carriages of beautiful women, a group of over a hundred children, around ten years old, followed behind the carriages with smiles on their faces. They were guarded by several guards and lined up on a small hill behind the Chambord City formation, craning their necks to curiously observe the enemy army opposite them.
"What on earth is that idiot King of Chambord City thinking?"
Almost all the King were completely bewildered.
Finally, just as they were filled with immense doubt, the person everyone had been waiting for finally appeared. The ranks of Chambord City parted, creating a gap more than two meters wide, and a tall, black-haired youth, dressed in flowing white robes and exuding an indescribable otherworldly air, slowly emerged from the stone bridge, riding a strong and majestic black horse. He leisurely walked to the front through the gaps created by the soldiers.
Sun Fei's appearance successfully drew the full attention of the leaders of the opposing coalition forces.
"Is this idiot the King of Chambord City?" Almost every King instantly compared their own imposing stature to the young man before them, and their conclusion a quarter of a second later was remarkably consistent. "While this guy's appearance and demeanor are decent, judging from the show Chambord City put on earlier, this King Alexander is clearly a good-for-nothing... no, calling him a good-for-nothing is too mild; he should be called an idiot—a moron! In that case, how can an idiot compare to my brilliant and imposing self? Hmm... however, that Big Black he's riding looks very majestic; it must be a rare breed. Capturing it and making it our own wouldn't be bad!"
Woof woof woof woof woof--!
Seemingly sensing the hostile gazes cast upon it by the King of the opposing allied forces, [ Black Whirlwind ] barked and issued its sternest warning.
puff!
The two thousand-plus soldiers opposite nearly burst out laughing in unison, and several King, utterly terrified, almost fell off their horses. Good heavens, that... that... that... that... it's a dog?! How could there be such a huge dog? The allied King, still on horseback, hurriedly wiped their eyes, while the two thousand soldiers behind them erupted in disbelief. This idiotic King of Chambord City's appearance was truly insane; he actually rode out riding a giant dog! His taste was truly... unique.
[ Black Whirlwind ] was quite pleased with the little disturbance it had caused, and barked a few more times.
Even the slowest person could now confirm that the King of Chambord City was indeed riding a dog.
For a moment, everything was in disarray.
Meanwhile, Sun Fei stared with heart eyes and drooling at the more than two hundred troops from various countries opposite him.
In his eyes, these fierce-looking guys were weapons and treasures delivered right to his doorstep. Although the soldiers of Chambord City had recently improved their strength considerably, due to the remote location and lack of mineral resources, there had never been enough steel to smelt weapons. Armor and weapons had always been in short supply. Until now, apart from the original King's Guard, they were not able to fully equip a hundred-man fully armored infantry square. If it weren't for the swords and armor they had captured after defeating the Black Armor Army, Sun Fei would probably still be leading a group of farmers with farm tools into battle.
Just as Sun Fei was pondering how to "entertain" this group of "gods of wealth" before him, the King of Red Water City, naturally adopting the demeanor of a commander-in-chief, rode his Flame Beast and slowly strode out of his own lines. He completely disregarded the forces of Chambord City, his gaze sweeping over them with contempt before he shouted, "Where is the King of Chambord City? Come out and answer me immediately!"
He clearly saw Sun Fei Sun Fei recognized him, but deliberately pretended not to know him.
Sun Fei wasn't angry. He patted Black Whirlwind with a grin, and the Big Black growled in a low voice as it slowly approached.
"The nine King have come together, could it be to fulfill the war reparations agreed upon by the Prince? I wonder if they brought the gold coins?" Sun Fei completely disregarded the menacing allied forces.
"Hahahaha, arrogant! I think you, this idiotic King, have lost your mind. A mere sixth-rank vassal state dares to demand war reparations? You think you can make exorbitant demands just because you've used a conspiracy to detain King? You're truly desperate!" The King of Red Water City laughed as if he had heard the funniest joke. "You have ten breaths to hand over the detained Prince, along with all the royal treasures and one hundred maids, as compensation. Otherwise, come and see..." He pointed to the allied forces of the nine great nations behind him and triumphantly shouted, "Otherwise, today we will raze your Chambord City to the ground and reduce it to ashes!"
Sun Fei remained calm, deliberately provoking them. "Since you didn't bring any compensation, what are you doing here? Are you here to die? I'm giving you one last chance. Pay the amount stipulated in the compensation agreement, and I'll spare your lives today. Otherwise, the Urban Management of Chambord City will leave you without even a chance to cry!"
"Bah! You little idiot with a brain crawling with maggots, you're courting death! It seems there's no need for Chambord City to exist anymore..." The King of Red Water City never expected that the King of these small, sixth-rank vassal states would dare to defy him like this, especially their utter disregard for him, which enraged him. "What are Urban Management? One Charge of [ Flame God Iron Hooves ] and I'll turn Chambord City into smoke!"
Sun Fei chuckled inwardly: How dare you curse the Urban Management like that? You're really something!
"Woof woof woof... Roar!!"
The Big Black was furious at its master's humiliation. It suddenly roared, its eyes flashing with ferocity, and a beast-like howl emanated from its throat. A menacing aura emanated from it, and almost instantly, the Flame Beast riding the King of Red Water City seemed to be frightened by a high-level magical beast. It was so frightened that it foamed at the mouth, its hooves buckled, and it collapsed to the ground. In the distance, the horses of the allied King also neighed and retreated in panic!
Just a moment ago, the King Red Water City was high and mighty, but now, like a wooden puppet, he was caught off guard and, with a scream, fell headfirst off the Crimson Flame Beast, landing face-first in the dirt and losing all face.
No one expected that a dog could possess such power. With a single roar, it terrified the fourth-tier magical beast, the Crimson Flame Beast, so much that it collapsed to the ground. The allied forces felt as if they were facing not a large dog that looked like a mongrel, but a fully grown, high-level seventh-tier magical beast. The intense aura of danger made every hair on their heads stand on end.
"Hahaha, look! Their stupid pig King is about to fall to his death!"
A burst of unrestrained laughter erupted from the Chambord City camp. Even the children standing on the hill in the distance clapped and laughed gleefully. Some soldiers who were initially a little tense were infected by this comical atmosphere and suddenly felt that the arrogant enemies on the other side were not worth fearing at all. Everyone banged on their weapons and cheered and laughed wildly. Their morale instantly soared.
Sun Fei was also taken aback.
Good dog!!
He affectionately ruffled the Big Black's head, surprised that this beast possessed such abilities—a single roar could rout an army. It seemed he had underestimated this creature. He suddenly wondered, if he used the [ Hulk Potion ] to feed other animals, would he be able to breed mutants like this Big Black? Perhaps even a black dog cavalry regiment?
"Danger! Protect the King!"
Seeing their King's mount swayed by a mere dog, the generals of Red Water City felt a burning shame, as if they'd been shoved with excrement. Fearing an attack, they hastily ordered their twenty-odd guards to rush forward and carefully form a defensive formation, escorting the King back to their camp. However, throughout the entire ordeal Chambord City laughed and jeered, completely disregarding the situation. Their high-level preparedness seemed as laughable as a desperate prostitute flaunting her lust before a blind man.
"Aaaaaah... Damn it, attack! Kill them all!!"
King Red Water City, now mounted on another Crimson Flame Beast, roared like a lion whose mate had been stolen during mating. He drew his sword and swung it, causing a stir on the [ Flame God Iron Hooves ] behind him. The knights spurred their Crimson Flame Beast, sending them hurtling in an arc towards the rear of the battle formation. They wanted to create distance and maximize the impact of their cavalry charge. At the same time, more than a hundred infantrymen, each wielding a shield in one hand and a spear in the Long Spear, roared and began their Charge!
A palpable killing intent surged skyward.
The battle has begun.
Boom boom boom boom boom--!!!
The infantry of Red Water City marched in perfect unison, their pace gradually quickening until the ground trembled beneath their feet. They were indeed the most elite infantry formation among the Nine Kingdoms Allied Army, clad in light armor, their left hands holding shaped shields, while their right hands held two-meter-long wooden-handled, iron-tipped javelins at a 35-degree angle forward. The sharp spearheads gleamed coldly in the sunlight, and propelled by their running momentum, these Long Spear, once thrown, were enough to pierce four or five enemies in an instant.
On the yellow grassland, the running soldiers were like a rolling torrent.
When the distance between the two sides closes to fifty meters, the javelin can be thrown, which will be a kiss of death.
Perhaps we don't even need to wait for the [ Flame God Iron Hooves ] cavalry to charge; these hundred-odd infantrymen alone could take care of that rabble from Chambord City... Look at those soldiers on the other side, are they really here to fight? The gap between the two sides is just too great!
Almost every King in the coalition thought the same thing.
I woke up at seven in the morning and feel much better. Here's a chapter to start.
