Chambord City.
Above the main gate, below the watchtower.
Princess Tanasha, who had remained in the city since the Battle of East Mountain Peak but had not left her quarters and whose activities were unknown, suddenly appeared there. The female swordswoman Susan and the Grand Knight Commander Roman Pavlyuchenko stood guard on either side of her, while more than twenty fully armed knights stood behind her.
"Your Highness, should I order them to cease their attack immediately?"
Knight Commander Pavlyuchenko frowned, looking at the surging allied forces from various countries in the distance, and then at the less than one hundred ragtag soldiers deployed by Chambord City. He felt a little worried, wondering what tricks the seemingly wise King Alexander was playing. But regardless, the decision to withdraw those fifty [ Jebe ]-level archers was a major blunder in command. As a seasoned tactical expert, Pavlyuchenko was an authority in this area. If he were to command those fifty [ Jebe ]-level archers, he was fully confident that he could annihilate this rabble of an allied force under the city walls in the shortest possible time.
"A fight between a bunch of pigs and a lion is none of our business!" The princess shook her head. " Roman, you might discover something today. Remember Alexander's fighting style; you might find it useful someday!"
"Yes, Your Highness!" The Grand Knight bowed, but he still frowned and said, "However, the difference in numbers is still too great. Chambord City is facing Nine Kingdoms Allied Army!"
" Nine Kingdoms Allied Army? Hah, Roman, you overestimate them. I didn't see any Nine Kingdoms Allied Army; I only saw a bunch of utterly corrupt and decadent fools under the empire's protection. A tiny third-rate vassal state and a few even smaller fifth- or sixth-rate vassal states. Hah, their royal families have long since rotted away in the long period of peace, their brains crawling with maggots. They have no talent other than wine and women. Azeroth Continent is a dangerous jungle, and these people have long since degenerated into fat, bloated pigs. If it weren't for the empire's protection, they would have long been meat in the claws of other 'beasts,' losing their right to continue living in the jungle. They have long lost the Glory and responsibility of true kings. Even a small captain in the Imperial [ Iron-Blooded Camp ] is a hundred times smarter than all these so-called King combined. If Alexander can't even handle this little trouble, then he doesn't deserve to be called the man who defeated the Cold-Blooded Witch Paris!"
The eldest princess surprisingly spoke a lot.
She was more worried about the predicament facing the Zenit Empire than about the current situation in Chambord City.
The vassal states had degenerated to such an extent that the empire's military strength and foundation had long since begun to rot unnoticed. Yet, the nobles and dukes in the capital were still preoccupied with vying for power and fighting amongst themselves, oblivious to the impending crisis. Emperor Yassin's health was also declining day by day. On the borders, the first-tier Spartak Empire, the first-tier Light Energy Empire, the second-tier Saint-Germain Empire, and the third-tier Lyon Empire were all eyeing the empire with predatory intent, poised to strike. Zenit, seemingly peaceful and prosperous, was actually in a precarious the Storm Riders, in danger of being destroyed at any moment.
The Zenit Empire's situation is countless times worse than that of Chambord City.
The eldest princess stayed in Chambord City not only because she was shocked and curious about the King Alexander's strength and wanted to win him over, but also because she wanted to see how this amazing King would govern Chambord City, which had long since become a mess. Perhaps she could learn something interesting from him that her elder Arshavin could use to his advantage when he seized the throne.
And the facts did not disappoint the eldest princess.
Although it was only a short period of less than half a month, the King's peculiar administrative system and the even more unbelievable Code of Twelve Bronze Warriors statues gave the princess an indescribable shock. In particular, the Bronze Warrior Code was so comprehensive and perfect that the princess could hardly believe it was written by a boy who had just turned eighteen. She could not find any flaws in it and it could be directly copied into the Zenit Empire... Unfortunately, the wise and resourceful princess herself knew that implementing this law in the Zenit Empire, where power was deeply entrenched, would encounter too much resistance.
The scene before her seemed perilous; perhaps if she were to appear and give an order, the so-called Nine Kingdoms Allied Army could immediately withdraw. However, she did not want to do so. King Alexander of the small Chambord City had already given her too much of a shock. The princess was certain without a doubt that this was exactly the situation he wanted to see. Undoubtedly, an unexpected turn of events would occur in the next instant.
Besides, given that guy's individual strength, what use would it be if over two thousand allied troops broke through to his side? He has a dog on his back and two swords in his hands; even alone, he could wipe out all two thousand men.
Sun Fei's invincible arrogance in the battle atop East Mountain had been deeply imprinted in the Princess's heart.
Watching the enemy surge forward like a flood bursting its banks, Sun Fei stroked his chin and smiled smugly. It seemed that placing a group of beautiful women in front of him was indeed a good way to stimulate men's hormones. Sure enough, the entire Nine Kingdoms Allied Army was completely bewildered and acted recklessly.
On the hill, the red command flag fluttered in the wind once more.
The formation of Chambord City began to change in silence. The dozen or so giant iron tower shields blocking the front were quickly withdrawn. Then, the thirty burly men, each gripping a giant axe, took the initiative to meet the enemy in front of them, charging forward with the spirit of "the wind howls and the Yi River is cold."
It seems that this is all the measures Chambord City has taken.
Thirty to one thousand five hundred.
A starkly disparate number of people.
It was like a nearly dried-up stream meeting a raging torrent, like a toddler puppy encountering a roaring tiger. Even an idiot could guess the outcome of such a clash—given this disparity in strength, the thirty giant axe warriors of Chambord City seemed no different from charging into their deaths. They wouldn't even be able to hold out for a short time enough for the King to escape; they would likely be swallowed up by the oncoming heavy infantry, leaving not even a trace of bone.
However, even with an absolute advantage, after the previous exaggerated battles, the King of the Nine Kingdoms Allied Army, who were considered by the princess to be "as foolish as fat, bloated pigs," finally retained a little composure.
They did not personally charge forward on horseback.
Instead, they remained in place, quietly observing the battle under the protection of their guards.
Each King cautiously reserved a portion of their fighting strength, not committing all their troops. At least the Red Water Kingdom, who had been blinded by rage, was unusually calm for once, waving his hand to temporarily halt the Charge of the [ Flame God Iron Hooves ] heavy cavalry regiment and waiting in place.
Of course, this may not have anything to do with being wise or great; it's simply a cowardly display of an extraordinary level of vigilance towards danger.
They were terrified by Chambord City's unorthodox tactics.
On the battlefield, the distance between 'Stream' and 'Great River' was less than fifty meters. Both sides, running at high speed, could see the ferocious expressions and murderous intent on each other's faces. They could even see the boogers in each other's nostrils. The earth-type warrior at the forefront of the heavy infantry brandished his greatsword, gradually quickening his pace. His body was covered in earth-yellow flames, and he roared to boost morale.
Less than thirty meters remain.
Just then--
Roar!...
No one expected that the first to attack would be the thirty lone, powerful axe-wielding men from Chambord City. Each of them suddenly roared to the sky, like thirty thunderclaps rising from the ground. Before the enemy could react, the men's formation suddenly broke apart, forming an almost straight line. Then, as they ran, each of them gripped the very end of their axe handles tightly with both hands, using the momentum of their run to spin 360 degrees on the spot, their bodies spinning like tops as they hurled their axes.
It's a pity that no one in the world has ever thrown a discus, otherwise they would be very familiar with this throwing motion.
Waaaaah--!
The rapidly spinning giant axe transformed into thirty clusters of soul-devouring dark light, tearing through space and slashing towards the oncoming heavy infantry.
The Kingdom of Shenhua infantrymen, who had been running happily at the front, suddenly burst into tears.
This is outrageous!
Who would have thought these guys would suddenly resort to such a dirty trick? Despite such a huge disparity in strength, they actually dared to throw their only weapon into the air.
The most arrogant earth-elemental warrior, charging ahead, was so terrified he only had time to duck to the ground. His helmet was ripped off by the fierce wind. Then, a series of cracking sounds—bones, armor, and sword blades shattering—came behind him, followed by a shower of blood and severed limbs. The expected fate of being trampled by the soldiers following closely behind didn't occur. Turning around in astonishment, he saw a scene he would never forget—
Thirty rapidly spinning giant axes swept through everything in their path, utterly destroying everything in their path. Heavily armored soldiers were sliced in two as easily as tofu on a plate being cleaved in two by a sharp knife. Incredulous eyes stared as their bodies were cut in half at the waist; the lower half continued to roll forward, while the upper half remained stationary. The immense force pierced through the swordsmen's bodies, their armor and swords flying everywhere, fragments of limbs and blades swirling in the air. The soaring blood stained the azure sky red. No one could withstand such a ferocious axe of death. Screams, delayed for a moment, then erupted into the sky. Some had severed limbs or arms, but were not immediately dead, clutching their wounds and howling in terror...
This is a living Hell.
First update.
Don't overestimate the intelligence of these King; they're just country bumpkins from a hereditary noble family protected by the empire. The truly capable will emerge later.
