The sunset was like blood.
A Bloody battle has only just begun.
The goblins at the forefront fell like wheat under the blows of the female Rogue ' magical arrows.
"Ook! Ook! Humans! Fresh food!"
"Rush ahead!"
"Eat humans!"
The goblins showed no fear at the fall of their companions.
In their eyes, the human army is simply food.
The goblins' long-standing military victories in the Southern Region Continent have led them to completely disregard the human army. In previous battles, there have even been instances where a few hundred goblins could chase after thousands or even tens of thousands of human troops!
Large numbers of goblins surged forth from the mountains and plains.
They were called an army, but they looked like refugees. Most of the goblins were less than a meter tall, with dark green skin full of wrinkles, triangular heads that looked like they were malnourished, and eyes as big as lamps. They looked fierce and menacing. They were all covered in simple iron armor and carried wooden sticks or similar things. They rushed over screaming.
They had no formation, no coordination, and just charged forward fearlessly.
Their momentum was like a pack of tigers charging into a flock of sheep.
But in the end, it was just like a sheep charging into a pack of tigers.
The Northern Region Army's cavalry unit, numbering less than a thousand men, Charge three times, annihilating nearly ten thousand goblins without leaving a single one behind. Countless goblin corpses piled up on the ground, and green blood spread across the earth.
"With this level of power, how could the goblins dominate the entire Southern Region?"
Beneath the banner on the hill, Gerrard and other powerful figures from the empire discussed the matter in disbelief.
That doesn't make sense. This is the first time the expeditionary force has encountered goblins. If the goblin army is as disorganized and ineffective as the one being wiped out, how could the Human Clan army in the Southern Region have suffered repeated defeats and almost been the subject of complaints from the goblins?
"Perhaps we've only encountered goblin civilians; further ahead, we'll meet a truly elite army!"
That's all the generals and powerful figures could think.
The mage set fire to the bodies of all the fallen goblins, and the raging flames engulfed everything.
The group advanced another twenty kilometers or so and finally came across a destroyed human city, where nearly ten thousand goblin troops were stationed. Gerrard volunteered to lead the Liverpool Empire's army and conquered the city in a single Charge, capturing about five thousand goblins.
Under the command of Shaarawy and others, the expeditionary force entered the city.
The expeditionary force planned to spend their first night in the Southern Region here.
The soldiers began to reorganize the city.
Sudden--
"Kill them! Slaughter all these goblins! Leave no one alive!"
A furious roar echoed through the city like thunder.
Liverpool's commander Gerrard seemed to have been provoked. He was originally organizing the city's defenses, but suddenly he went berserk, his figure flashing as he appeared in the air above the captured goblins. His power surged, and the earth's Dou Qi, as large as a mountain, pressed down.
With a series of loud popping sounds, the thousands of goblins below were instantly crushed into dust.
"Lord Gerrard, do not act! Her Highness the Queen has ordered that we spare their lives for questioning!"
Shaarawy was excited by the surging power in the sky. When he arrived, he found that none of the more than five thousand goblins he had captured had survived. They had all been tortured to death by Gerrard in his rage, and the entire prison was filled with the stench of minced meat and green blood.
"Killed them all?" El Shaarawy asked, puzzled. "What could have made General Gerrard so furious?"
"Come with me."
Gerrard didn't want to say much, so he pulled Shaarawy along to the city center, where the goblin army used to store food.
When Shaarawy saw the Human Clan corpses, their limbs and heads devoured; the Human Clan entrails half-cooked in the pot; the women and children tortured to the point of madness; and the Old Man still alive but with an arm gnawed off, exposing his bare bones...
"Kill! Slaughter them all! From this day forward, the expeditionary force will never take goblin prisoners again. I will exterminate every single goblin on the Azeroth Continent!"
El Shaarawy was furious.
He had never hated the Holy Church more than he had ever done.
Goblins are nothing but beasts, a bunch of inhuman wild animals. No, they are even more savage and lowly than wild animals. Apart from being intelligent, they are just a bunch of walking thugs.
Soon, news of everything discovered in the city spread among the expeditionary force.
In fact, there's no need to spread rumors. In this destroyed human city, there are everywhere the remains of humans who were eaten, humans who were tortured to death, and Human Clan entrails that were half-eaten and boiled in iron pots...
This place was a living Hell. Everyone in the city was massacred. Of the hundreds of thousands of people, less than twenty survived, but they had all gone completely insane from fear and torture!
Even before arriving in the Southern Region, rumors of goblins eating people had already spread.
However, when everyone witnessed this scene firsthand, they were utterly shocked and enraged, and the soldiers' furious roars echoed throughout the city.
"No goblin prisoners!"
"Exterminate every goblin in the Southern Region!"
The enraged mob tied every goblin they could find in the city to the back of their horses and dragged them to their deaths. Scout patrols conducted a large-scale search and patrol around the city, killing a large number of goblins.
The expeditionary force rested briefly in the city for half a night, and then set off again in the latter half of the night, accelerating its advance towards Iduna City.
Just as dawn broke on the second day, the expeditionary force finally encountered the real goblin army.
A great battle unfolded on the plains.
The enraged Human Clan army launched a near-total massacre, their morale soaring. They fought until nightfall, defeating nearly a million goblin soldiers and wiping out almost all of them, taking no prisoners.
That night, the expeditionary force set up camp on the battlefield.
"What we encountered at the beginning were indeed some cannon fodder goblins resembling civilians. Today, we're facing the real goblin army." In the main command tent, commanders from various countries gathered. Shaarawy analyzed the map, "The combat strength of goblin warriors is far inferior to that of the Human Clan warriors, but their numbers are overwhelming. I believe that the army we encountered today is just a regular force of the Goblin Empire, but it already exceeds one million. They're like army ants!"
"Indeed, what's truly terrifying about the goblins isn't their fighting strength, but their seemingly endless numbers. The Southern Region Human Clan have lost too much territory and resources, allowing these creatures to reproduce at will!"
"Among the goblins, there are also high-ranking warriors. The strategists have roughly categorized them, from weakest to strongest: cannon fodder goblins, commoner goblins, warrior goblins, King Class goblins, Imperial Class goblins... And beyond that, we don't know if there will be even more powerful goblins. Imperial Class goblins are equivalent to the Great Sun-Rank Venerable of the Human Clan. In today's battle, a total of fifteen of them were killed!"
"We haven't encountered the legendary goblin magic airship or other equipment yet today. The battles to come will likely be even more severe; the situation is more dire than we imagined!"
Although they had won during the day, the commanders were not optimistic.
In fact, people's concerns are not without merit.
The next morning, when the Sun shone on the ground, the expeditionary force was astonished to find themselves surrounded by a horde of goblins.
Looking around, the expeditionary force's Barracks was surrounded by a dense, green goblin army, like a tidal wave. Goblin airships floated in the sky, blotting out the sun and stretching as far as the eye could see. Their sheer number was beyond everyone's imagination.
