A new week has begun. Urgently asking for every kind of support.
Sun Fei deliberately gave the little girl's head a vigorous rub, mussing her blond hair until it looked like a bird's nest. He laughed. "Of course it's true... Haha, and thank you, little one!"
"You're the little one!"
"Haha..."
Angela stood to one side without interrupting. She smiled as she watched Alexander and Jima play around, feeling better than ever before. How long had it been since she had been this happy? Angela herself didn't know. Her gaze grew brighter and brighter as she watched Alexander.
The soldiers were soon settled in the courtyard in front of the king's hall.
Under Angela and Jima's direction, clean water, food, warm blankets and clothing were distributed to every wounded soldier. Sun Fei was even generous enough to hand out some of the valuables from the palace hall to encourage his soldiers. At this critical moment, he had to keep their morale high. Besides encouraging them in spirit, he needed to offer them some tangible material benefits. As a university student who had read history extensively in his previous life, Sun Fei knew a thing or two about that.
Sure enough, Sun Fei's actions earned the soldiers' respect.
Cries of "Long live the king!" once again rang throughout Chambord City. Some wounded soldiers were so moved that tears welled up in their eyes, and they swore to "serve His Majesty Alexander to the death." In these chaotic times, when human lives were as cheap as grass, it was all too easy for a member of the upper nobility to win the hearts of his subjects.
After seeing to the wounded soldiers, Sun Fei left the other matters-such as mobilizing the people of Chambord City to defend the city and arranging guards for its defenses-to the "military expert" Brook, while he returned to the king's hall.
After ordering everyone not to enter the hall without permission, Sun Fei began examining his injuries.
They weren't very serious.
Sun Fei's first battle had gone well. He had killed both the shadow and the man in black in an instant without suffering a scratch. Only during his fight with the Three-Star Warrior named Langde had he taken a warrior skill, Explosive Flame Slash, head-on. The impact had made him spit out a mouthful of blood, but the injury wasn't serious.
His most serious injury came later, when Sun Fei had deliberately let his opponent stab him in the left shoulder. Langde's fire-attribute Dou Qi had entered his body and shaken his heart and lungs, posing a real threat to him.
And the reason Sun Fei had done that was that he had been taking a gamble.
Since he could bring the Barbarian's skills into reality, the leather armor with 13 defense worn by his level-five Barbarian character, as well as the character's own defense, should also carry over. That would reduce the damage from Langde's rapier as much as possible.
And in fact, he had won the gamble.
The terrifying Dou Qi contained in the Three-Star Warrior's blade could have shattered Sun Fei's internal organs outright, but with the Barbarian character's ridiculously strong defense protecting him, he had suffered only a minor injury.
It had posed no deadly threat.
Of course, Sun Fei had actually been forced to do it.
In that situation, Sun Fei couldn't think of any way to defeat Langde except by using a trick. If he couldn't quickly force him off the city wall, then, given Langde's strength as a Three-Star Warrior, a little more time would probably have been enough for him to kill Sun Fei.
It wasn't that he wasn't afraid of death.
It was because he was so afraid of dying that he had fought with everything he had.
Sun Fei had won his gamble.
After examining his injuries, Sun Fei began doing another very important thing-
He sat upright on the bed and tried to enter the Diablo World.
To save the wounded soldiers, he had to enter the Diablo World one more time.
Sun Fei's idea was simple-
Since he could bring a character's abilities from the Diablo World into reality, could he also bring the equipment and items from the game into reality?
For example, the [Healing Potion] from the Diablo World. If he could bring that magical potion, which could instantly restore a game character on the verge of death to full health, into the real world, then perhaps white-haired Pierce and the wounded soldiers could truly be saved.
The thought made Sun Fei unable to wait another moment to enter the Diablo World.
He sat on the bed and calmed his mind, concentrating harder than ever as he tried to recall the scene when he had first entered the Diablo World and communicate with the mysterious voice in his mind.
The result of his attempt delighted Sun Fei.
A response came quickly-
"Player Sun Fei requests entry into the Diablo World... Soul scan verified... Checking game time... Game time remaining. Entry permitted... Countdown... 3... 2... 1. Enter!"
The mysterious, cold voice arrived as expected.
A strange, mysterious sensation instantly enveloped his body. Once again, Sun Fei experienced what the adventurers in the American TV series Stargate did, traveling through a tunnel of time...
Sun Fei stared at the scene before him, stunned.
Based on his memories of the computer game from his previous life, he had left the game in the [Den of Evil], out in the wilderness of the [Blood Moor]. When he returned, he should have been back in the [Den of Evil]... But reality was completely different from what Sun Fei had imagined.
The scene before him wasn't the [Den of Evil].
Nor was it the [Rogue Encampment].
It wasn't even inside the Diablo World.
Instead, it was... a panoramic display resembling a 3D projection simulation.
But Sun Fei was very familiar with the image on the panoramic display: it was the selection screen from before the start of Diablo. The seven playable characters in Diablo-the Amazon warrior, the Eastern Assassin, the Necromancer, the Barbarian, the Paladin, the Sorceress and the Druid-appeared on the screen. They stood before a blazing campfire, each figure so lifelike that he could even sense them breathing. To Sun Fei, it felt as if seven living people were standing right in front of him.
"This is... the selection screen before the game? How did I get here? Could it be..."
Sun Fei was pondering this when he suddenly spotted an option box with Chinese characters at the bottom of the 3D panoramic screen-
[Create new character].
Sun Fei froze. The next second, uncontrollable ecstasy flooded his heart.
"Create a new character? Does that mean I can choose other characters to play besides the Barbarian? In other words, can I also bring the abilities and skills of other characters, like the Sorceress or the Paladin, into reality?"
In an instant, a door swung wide open before Sun Fei.
Sun Fei saw infinite possibilities.
If he leveled every character in Diablo to level 99 and cleared hell difficulty with each one, then brought those abilities into reality, what would happen? Would he dominate the world? Become the strongest expert on the continent? Carve out a huge harem? Take princesses from whichever countries he wanted and curse the kings of whichever countries he wanted?
Anything was possible.
The hundreds of skills belonging to the other classes in the Diablo World would stir up tremendous waves in this world, and no one would be able to stand against them.
This was simply heaven-defying!
Looking at the virtual 3D holographic display before him, Sun Fei fell into his old habit of daydreaming, and before he knew it, drool had streamed onto the floor.
After indulging in his fantasies for a while, Sun Fei set about testing his idea.
He put his mind to work, and with a thought, selected the cooler-looking Sorceress class in his mind.
Sure enough, the pretty girl representing the Sorceress class on the 3D holographic screen stepped forward. With a gentle sweep of her ornate staff, which contained terrifying power, a dazzling current of electricity appeared in her hand. The Sorceress struck an extremely cool pose and bowed lightly to Sun Fei.
The text at the bottom of the panoramic screen changed to [Confirm selection?].
Sun Fei confirmed in his mind.
The holographic screen before him began to blur, a sign that he was about to enter the game world.
However, just then-
Sun Fei suddenly thought of a very serious problem. "The Sorceress is a female character. Once I get to the game world, won't I turn into a woman too? That would be terrible. I don't want the game system to castrate me..."
The game system didn't give Sun Fei much time to regret his choice.
The next second, everything before him began to change.
Whoosh-!
The familiar sensation of weightlessness, as though passing through a tunnel of space and time, quickly came over him.
Sun Fei's vision blurred.
Almost 0.0001 seconds later, when his senses returned to his body, Sun Fei looked around and found that he had indeed arrived once again at the starting point for new characters in Diablo's beginner village, the [Rogue Encampment].
The sky was still gloomy and overcast, with a light drizzle falling endlessly.
The [Rogue Encampment] was deserted and quiet.
Sun Fei found that after he switched to the Sorceress class, everything here seemed to have returned to its initial state. Everything seemed to have started over. He went to see Sister Akara, and the middle-aged woman, who possessed intelligence of her own, treated Sun Fei as a stranger and once again gave him the quest to wipe out the monsters in the [Den of Evil].
After accepting the quest, Sun Fei returned to the place where new characters first appeared.
Something suddenly occurred to him. He hurriedly looked down and reached into his crotch, feeling around.
A moment later-
"Phew, thank goodness... Thank goodness, I didn't turn into a woman. Otherwise, I would have become one of Thailand's legendary national treasures..."
Sun Fei was delighted to discover that although the Sorceress class had a fixed female appearance in the Diablo World, his game character was modeled on Alexander's appearance in reality, with a few slight changes. He looked much the same as his Barbarian version.
All he wore was a gray, coarse-cloth robe, and in his hand was a low-level staff about two meters long that looked like a dead branch. Both pieces of equipment were inferior goods given to beginners by the game system; what power could they possibly have?
Before long, the lecherous NPC Warriv came over to strike up a conversation again, a golden question mark hovering above his head. Having learned from his previous experience, Sun Fei ignored the fellow and walked straight away.
By now, Sun Fei could be certain that his earlier guess had been correct.
He could choose every character in the Diablo World. As for whether he could bring their abilities and skills into reality as he had with the Barbarian, he wouldn't know until after he exited the game.
A new week has begun. Asking for support. It's urgent.
