A string of incoherent, astronomical words came from the mouth of this lifelike, giant holographic simulated light figure.
"Holy crap, what does this mean?" Zhong Dajun was dumbfounded.
Sun Fei smiled slightly and translated every single word without making a sound.
The gist is that this civilization developed from weakness to strength, and then from strength to its peak, entering the Age of Space Exploration. However, during its colonization and expansion, it unexpectedly encountered the Insect Race, and was quickly defeated in war. Resource planets were conquered one by one, and super fleets were dismantled. The Zerg soon returned to this ancestral planet, and the flame of civilization was quickly extinguished...
Just as Sun Fei had guessed, this civilization possessed an indomitable spirit, preferring death to surrender.
Their runic technology once dealt a heavy blow to the insectoids, threatening their very survival. This enraged the Insect Race, leading to their complete annihilation without leaving a trace.
It turns out that the planet the two of them had arrived on was the ancestral home of this Rune Civilization.
As the giant luminous figure spoke, it stretched out its hand and drew a virtual constellation map in the air.
The star map vividly depicted the vast universe they controlled at their peak, encompassing at least a hundred planets and most of the unnamed star system. However, in less than six months after encountering the insects, these blue resource and colony planets turned blood red...
A constellation chart that rapidly changes colors explains the horrors of that cruel era.
Each tiny dot of light, no bigger than a button, represents a planet inhabited by hundreds of billions of people. Turning red signifies that the planet has been completely wiped out by the Insect Race.
Even Sun Fei and Zhong Dajun couldn't help but feel a chill run down their spines when faced with this constellation chart.
This was a proud and great civilization, possessing power tens of millions of times greater than Earth's, even existing on the Azeroth Continent. Yet, it was completely destroyed by the Zerg in less than a year, demonstrating just how terrifying the Insect Race — the Defiler of the universe—truly were.
The introduction was brief, but it was breathtaking.
"They once dealt a heavy blow to the Insect Race, threatening Insect Race very survival," Sun Fei said, his eyes gleaming. "In other words, they may have been very close to wiping out the Insect Race, finding some feasible method. If we can find that method, perhaps we can completely eliminate the threat of the [ Defiler ]."
Zhong Dajun nodded.
Previously, he had been somewhat dismissive of Sun Fei's research into the ruins of a civilization that had been wiped out by insects a thousand years ago, but now he was awestruck by the civilization's strength and Sun Fei's freakish learning ability.
A civilization that has been extinct for a thousand years, yet still has things that are still usable—that's truly terrifying.
If they hadn't encountered the Insect Race, a terrifying civilization that destroyed their race, at the height of their power, who knows how far they might have developed by now.
"Let's look at other things."
Sun Fei continuously injected energy into the massive machine in front of him, and more and more information was displayed on it.
There are scenes from the great battle back then...
There are images of a spaceship crashing...
There are scenes of Insect Race chasing and killing native inhabitants...
It's like something out of a science fiction movie.
"These things can be taken back and used as teaching materials to instruct the warriors of Earth and Azeroth Continent, so that they won't be caught off guard when the Insect Race descend..." Sun Fei used the power of law to transport all these things to the Divine Domain Great World and temporarily preserve them.
"Our main priority now is to find the method by which this Rune Civilization Insect Race almost defeated the Zerg back then, but unfortunately there are no clues here," Sun Fei said with a hint of regret.
Zhong Dajun frowned and said, "After a thousand years, perhaps this method has been destroyed in the flames of war?"
"The more precious something is, the more carefully it should be preserved," Sun Fei said, clinging to a sliver of hope and unwilling to give up. "Let's keep searching, hoping to find everything on this planet."
The two set off, beginning their search on this giant sphere for other structures resembling city ruins.
After this search, they finally made a discovery; Sun Fei had indeed uncovered the truth of what happened back then.
"It actually relied on biotechnology..." Based on some clues, Sun Fei found an underground base left behind by this civilization.
This base is remarkably well-preserved, having escaped discovery and invasion by the Insect Race. It contains a vast amount of weapons, warships, and energy, as well as various works of art, scrolls, handicrafts, genetic maps of plants and animals, a frozen gene bank of plants and animals, and a massive collection of rune technology books. It was likely preserved by the original inhabitants as the last spark of their civilization.
Inside a machine resembling a supercomputer, Sun Fei found the 'weapon' that had dealt a heavy Insect Race back then.
The natives used a biological attack similar to bacteriological warfare, employing a meticulously developed and highly targeted virus to nearly wipe out the Insect Race. Unfortunately, the Zerg's unparalleled evolutionary abilities allowed them to survive the attack, become immune to the virus, and ultimately survive.
"So that's how it is. In that case, we can't use this method at all..." Zhong Dajun was extremely disappointed. "It's well known how insects evolve and adapt. Since they've already been immune to it once, this virus can't possibly be effective against them again."
"Indeed." Sun Fei was surprised by the result and his disappointment was palpable. However, at that moment, a thought flashed through his mind. He suddenly realized something and immediately used his great supernatural power to move the entire base into his Divine Domain Great World. Then he grabbed Zhong Dajun and left.
"What did you think of?" Zhong Dajun asked in surprise.
"Let's go check on those life-bearing warship-level bugs you killed first, then we'll talk," Sun Fei said, keeping everyone in suspense.
"Holy crap, it really is huge." Sun Fei was also shocked when he saw the enormous insect corpse that looked like a mountain.
These dozen or so high-level insects, possessing divine-level spiritual power, were second only in size to the corpses of the Earth Main God of the Goblin Realm that Sun Fei had seen before. They lay across the ground like mountain ranges. In terms of appearance, these creatures really resembled technological warships, with thick bone layers and sharp barbs, and dark bone textures that shimmered with a metallic luster.
It's hard to imagine that this thing evolved from a living organism.
Sun Fei released his spiritual power to scan the area.
