"Danger! Protect His Majesty the King!"
Someone suddenly shrieked in his ear at the top of their lungs, like a mother hen whose eggs had been stolen.
Sun Fei was disturbed by the noise.
He opened his eyes in a daze.
A large, coldly gleaming barbed arrow flew straight at his face, its fletching shrieking through the air with a piercing whistle.
"Fuck, what's going on? Which bastard shot me?"
Sun Fei snapped wide awake, his hair standing on end in fright.
Unfortunately, before he could figure out what was happening, the arrow struck him.
Thud!
A muffled thump rang out as the barbed arrow hit his helmet.
Sun Fei immediately felt the world spin. His ears rang, and countless little golden stars danced mischievously before his eyes. Like a doll caught in machine-gun fire, he hurtled backward.
"Ah... fuck!"
He let out a scream, convinced that he must look damn ugly flying through the air.
"God of War above! The king's been shot! Save him!"
"Soldiers, catch the king, quickly..."
"Andy! Andy!! What are you standing there for, you stupid pig? Hurry and fetch a mage to heal him..."
"Watch out! Those bastards in black down below are attacking the city..."
"Damn it! Damn it!! Somebody fucking tell me, how did these scumbags get siege ladders?!"
"Watch out!! Archers, ready... fire!"
Amid the chaotic screams and frantic footsteps, Sun Fei was still flying through the air, utterly bewildered. King? Mage? Archers? A siege? Where am I? Are they shooting a movie? What the fuck is going on?
A hundredth of a second later, he finally landed-
First, his backside slammed into the hard ground. Then, unfortunately, his helmeted head struck a protruding hard object.
In an instant, more and more little golden stars circled mischievously before his eyes. As the chaotic sounds around him grew louder, Sun Fei's mind began to cloud over again.
King? How... it sounds like they're talking about me?
But fuck it! Who cares about some damn king? That bastard had better hope I don't find out who shot me with an arrow, or I'll kill him!
He thought in a daze.
He had barely opened his eyes before someone shot him in the head with an arrow. Shocked and furious, Sun Fei couldn't help cursing inwardly.
But soon, a wave of pain washed over him. Lying on the ground like a little hamster that had swallowed a massive dose of rat poison, he twitched his limbs a few times with difficulty and promptly passed out.
He didn't know how much time had passed.
Sun Fei woke up.
More precisely, he regained a little consciousness.
Sun Fei felt as though he were lying in a soft cloud, but his body was sore and numb, and he couldn't move. The back of his head and his forehead still felt heavy and muddled, as though someone had beaten him dozens of times with a club. He couldn't open his eyes, either, and could only faintly hear people whispering beside him.
They sounded like two women.
"Sister Angela, you really are a big fool... if you ask me, why do you care whether he lives or dies? If he dies, you can easily have everything in Chambord City... hee-hee, then you won't have to marry that famous idiot, either... hee-hee."
The voice was clear and pleasant, like that of a little Loli of fourteen or fifteen.
"Shut up!"
Another soft, gentle female voice interrupted the first, sounding a little annoyed. After a brief silence, she seemed to compose herself and said softly, "Jima, my silly little sister, do you know what nonsense you're talking about? Don't ever let me hear you say such things again... no matter what, Alexander is my fiancé!"
Alexander? Who's that cursed unlucky bastard?
Hearing this, Sun Fei was full of questions and still had no idea what was going on.
Then a faint fragrance suddenly reached his nose, like musk and orchid, delicate and elusive, possessing an indescribable loveliness.
A woman's natural scent.
Fuck, she's a virgin, too.
Sun Fei grew excited.
As a cultured, refined, idealistic, and principled "veteran connoisseur of beautiful women"-the professional academic term was pervert-Sun Fei reached that conclusion almost without thinking. He was extremely confident in his abilities in this area.
Sun Fei struggled to half-open his eyes.
What he saw shocked him.
He was astonished to find himself in a grand hall filled with the old-world atmosphere of medieval Europe. Its magnificent gilded decorations, exquisite furniture, and the faint, refreshing scent of sandalwood in the air gave the hall a dreamlike quality.
He froze for a moment, then quietly turned his head to look around.
Two graceful figures appeared in Sun Fei's view, one farther away and one close by.
Standing a little farther away was a young girl in a maid's uniform. Her light golden hair was simply tied into a ponytail behind her head, and she was pouting, looking thoroughly unhappy.
This little girl was probably the one who had just been hoping that the unlucky fellow named Alexander would hurry up and die. Sun Fei couldn't help looking askance at her. Such a vicious mouth at such a young age. A woman's heart really is the most poisonous!
He shifted his gaze closer.
Sun Fei found himself lying like a dead pig on a gilded, deep-red double bed, his head resting on a soft velvet cushion. A beautiful young woman in a loose purple noblewoman's gown with a high waist sat at the bedside, looking anxious.
The young woman sat sideways.
Her long hair, dark as a bank of black clouds, was loosely bound behind her with purple silk. Beneath it, her icy, snow-white skin, fairer than frost and snow like a swan's, appeared and disappeared from view. The high lavender waist accentuated every curve a woman should have, their contours dizzying to behold.
The beautiful young woman leaned forward slightly.
Pretending to keep his eyes narrowed, Sun Fei habitually peered down the exquisitely crafted round collar with its purple lace, easily catching sight of two breathtaking mounds of snowy whiteness and the deep, shadowed cleavage between them, impossible to look away from.
At that point, Sun Fei didn't dare look any longer.
He quietly took a deep breath.
A burning sensation rose in his nose. If he kept looking, he figured he would soon have a nosebleed. The little brother in his pants beneath the covers was also beginning to make its presence known, raising a small bump in the blanket.
Amitabha, what a sin... what a sin!
A veteran connoisseur of beautiful women who had once watched countless adult films from the island nation had been utterly defeated by a single fleeting glance, surrendering without the slightest resistance. He was simply no match at all. How disgraceful.
Sun Fei had no choice but to force himself to think about other things, such as, Who is this woman? Why am I here? What is this place?
"Ahem, ahem!" Sun Fei deliberately coughed a few times.
"You're awake?"
Hearing him, the stunningly beautiful black-haired girl, Angela, leaned over, her fair, delicate face instantly lighting up with delight. "Alexander, how do you feel? Does your wound still hurt? Doctor Evan said you need plenty of rest..."
"I... uh... what's going on?" Sun Fei asked vaguely, trying to draw information out of her.
But the moment the words left his mouth, he couldn't help being startled.
Sun Fei had suddenly realized something he could scarcely believe-
He had never heard the ancient language with its strange sounds that the beautiful girl was speaking, even though he was a student at a university's school of languages. Stranger still, not only could he understand this peculiar language, he could actually speak it.
"Alexander, have you forgotten? While you were leading the soldiers in defending the city, the despicable enemy ambushed you with an arrow... God of War above, thank goodness you were wearing a helmet, so you only suffered a very minor injury..."
As Angela spoke, she gently laid a soft, smooth hand on Sun Fei's forehead. It was a little cool. A flash of delight appeared in her eyes. "That's wonderful, your temperature is normal... Doctor Evan said that as long as you didn't develop a fever, there would be no problem at all. You'll be better very soon... Alexander, you're such a brave king!"
"Me? Alexander? King?" Sun Fei was dumbfounded.
"Yes. Hehe, our young and brave King of Chambord City, it was only because you appeared on the walls in time that our flagging morale was lifted... encouraged by you, our brave soldiers finally repelled another attack by the brutal enemy!" the beautiful Angela said with a smile.
Sun Fei felt something was odd.
For some reason, the beautiful girl sounded like a kindergarten teacher coaxing a crying child who refused to go to sleep.
"He's no brave king..."
The little blonde girl called Jima, standing to one side, rolled her eyes. Finally finding a chance to speak, she said with mockery and disdain, "Would Alexander have gone up on the walls willingly if Lord Bazel hadn't insisted again and again? I remember he was so scared he nearly wet his pants when they made him put on armor... and as for lifting morale, if letting the exhausted soldiers see their king get shot off the wall like an idiot, with a single arrow from the enemy the very first second he got up there, counts, then he certainly lifted morale!"
The little girl's tone was hostile.
Sun Fei vaguely detected a hint of hostility in the little Loli's eyes.
But at the moment, Sun Fei had no time to argue with a little girl who wasn't even grown up yet.
His mind was in turmoil.
What the hell? Didn't something knock me unconscious outside my dorm? How did I wake up in some Chambord City I've never even heard of? And turn into a king called Alexander? And this beautiful girl in front of me, who's even more enchanting than a vixen, is actually my fiancée?
Sun Fei patted his forehead, full of doubt and alarm.
Is this a prank? Or... did I transmigrate?
Thinking it over, it didn't seem like a prank. The Western-looking girl called Angela was astonishingly beautiful, so radiant that descriptions like "a beauty who makes fish sink, geese fall, the moon hide, and flowers blush" paled before her. Who had so much time on their hands that they'd pay such a beautiful foreign girl to play a prank on him?
Besides, the sharp-tongued little blonde Loli farther away was exceptionally pretty, too.
Most importantly, he had never heard this strange, obscure, ancient, mysterious language before, yet somehow he could understand it...
Sun Fei quickly analyzed the situation.
