"Hehe, since you say so, then it is." Xindi gathered her long hair with her slender, beautiful fingers, laughing and trying to brush it off.
The middle-aged, down-on-his-luck magician laughed heartily, "Haha, little girl, it doesn't matter if you don't say anything, I have no interest in such things anyway. However, I see that you have extraordinary talent, exquisite bones, and the Storm Riders. The natural elements are constantly gathering and not dissipating, which is a sign that you have Innate Elemental Body. You are indeed a genius for cultivating magic. Why don't you become my disciple?"
"Pfft..." Upon hearing this, Arthur spat out a mouthful of meat and exclaimed, "Old man, are you serious this time? After hundreds of years, you've actually come up with the idea of taking on apprentices again? Have you forgotten that if it weren't for that bastard villain of yours, would we both be in this state today?"
The middle-aged, down-on-his-luck magician ignored the little boy, his expression grave as he looked at the Magic Princess Xindi, awaiting her answer.
"No." Xindi wasn't being careless this time, and firmly shook her head. "Please forgive me, senior, but I already have a master."
"Don't rush to refuse, young lady. You should think it over carefully. There are countless people on this continent who are vying to become my disciple. Once this opportunity is missed, it will never come again," the middle-aged, down-on-his-luck mage said earnestly.
"Hahaha, senior, since General Xindi is unwilling to become your disciple, why bother to pester her?" A series of loud laughs came from outside the hall, followed by footsteps. Soldiers guarding the sentry post outside the hall knelt on the ground, and a tall, handsome young man in a light blue robe walked in through the hall.
"Lord Alexander, you... have arrived?" Upon hearing this, Xindi's face lit up with joy. She stood up in surprise, unsure of what to say, and finally uttered these words.
"Yes, General Xindi, you've worked hard. Everything's alright here, you can go and rest now. You've been busy for so long, take a hot bath and get some rest." The Magic Princess is of noble status and is a woman, unlike the strong and robust men. In this vast desert, with dust everywhere, and having traveled a long and tiring journey, she deserves a good rest.
Hearing the legion commander's concern for her, the Magic Princess felt a warmth in her heart. Her beautiful, noble eyes glanced at the unfathomable old man and young man in the hall, and she said with concern, "Your Majesty, these two seniors are very powerful. Perhaps I should stay..."
"Don't worry, I know what I'm doing. After you leave, pass on my military order: no one is allowed to approach within five hundred paces of the main hall. Seal it off." Sun Fei smiled, his confident expression reassuring the Magic Princess. She nodded and said, "Then, my lord, please be careful." With that, she gracefully turned and slowly walked out.
"So you're Alexander? Was that earth-shattering advancement aura tonight your doing?" The down-on-his-luck middle-aged mage sized up Sun Fei, his face showing a cynical expression. He had clearly seen through Sun Fei's strength and didn't take the powerful King seriously at all.
"That's right, I am Alexander." Sun Fei didn't stand on ceremony. A flash of silver-white flame appeared in his hand, Summon a sharp Xiaodao from his storage ring. He walked straight over, cut off a large piece of Princess Xindi's almost-cooked golden honey meat from the grill, and began to eat heartily. After a few bites, Earth Inquiry calmly, "I guess, senior, you must be the Necromancer Hasselbaink who Zongheng the continent many years ago?"
The air suddenly tensed up as soon as he said that.
The hall fell into a deathly silence; you could hear a pin drop.
The middle-aged, down-on-his-luck magician's eyes flashed with two menacing beams of light, his aura surging like mountains pressing down, making it hard to breathe. Beside him, the pink-haired boy's pupils began to change; the whites of his eyes completely disappeared, turning them into bottomless, dark abysses that drew people in. Dark halos emanated from his body, causing the light from the campfire in the hall to dim as if it were being absorbed.
A tense atmosphere filled the air. Six eyes met, their gazes seemingly tangible yet sparking invisible flames.
A fierce and violent battle is about to break out.
Sun Fei, however, remained oblivious, still enjoying his roasted meat with relish, oil dripping from his lips. With a thought, he Summon a bottle of fragrant liquor, drank it down in large gulps, and stopped talking, the air filled with the intoxicating aroma of the wine.
"Huh?... Good wine!" The middle-aged, down-on-his-luck magician's eyes lit up, and he couldn't help but exclaim in praise.
He loved wine all his life and had drunk countless fine wines. The wine that Sun Fei brought out was not the best he had ever seen, but they had been chased like wild dogs for a long time and had not drunk such good wine for a long time.
The little boy Arthur reverted to his human form, wrinkling his nose and looking on with a drooling expression.
Whoosh!
Amidst hearty laughter, Sun Fei slightly raised his hand, Summon two more bottles of wine from his storage ring, which flew towards the old man and the young man.
"Hahaha, good, thank you." The middle-aged, down-on-his-luck mage reached out and grabbed the drink, tilting his head back and eagerly taking a swig. He exclaimed how satisfying it was, downing more than half of it in one gulp before stroking his beard and laughing, "You're right, I am Hasselbaink, the Undead Magic in the world's mouth who does anything and turns every place he goes into the Death Realm."
On the other side, the little boy Arthur also tilted his head back and drank heavily, gulping down the liquor with his arms wide open, quickly soaking his clothes.
"What? Aren't you afraid I'll poison your drink?" The two men's extremely frank and unrestrained manner impressed Sun Fei. His Majesty the King raised his wine bottle and asked deliberately.
"Hahaha, since you know I am the Necromancer Hasselbaink, you should know that Necromancer have never been afraid of poison." As he said this, a trace of extremely arrogant pride flashed across the middle-aged mage's face, and one could vaguely see the demeanor of the powerful elder of the [ Undead Temple ] who once Zongheng the world.
"That's true. Undead Magic are all proficient in Poison Magic; the undead and poison have never been separated." Sun Fei nodded.
"Oh? You know all this?" A hint of surprise flashed in Hasselbaink's eyes.
Sun Fei shrugged and laughed, "The bards on the continent all know these things. Aren't evil Undead Magic all about poisoning and harming living beings everywhere?"
Hasselbaink paused for a moment, then nodded.
"Alright, I'm full. Now, let me see what you've got." Sun Fei wiped the grease from his mouth, clapped his hands, and laughed.
"What?" The old man and the young man were not quite understanding when they heard King of Chambord suddenly say such a thing.
"Rumor has it that [ Demon of Evil ] Hasselbaink was once the Grand Elder of the glorious [ Undead Temple ], and possessed many exquisite and lost magical spells and incantations of the undead lineage. I am very curious and eager to see them for myself, so please make your move," Sun Fei said with a smile.
"Young man, do you really want to see Undead Magic's a taboo on this continent. Perhaps you'll regret making this request after you've seen it. But considering I just drank a bottle of your fine wine, I'll allow you to take back your request." Hasselbaink looked at Sun Fei with a serious expression, a stark contrast to his previous carefree and jovial demeanor.
The little boy Arthur had finished the wine in the bottle and was now licking the drops of wine flowing from the rim, lost in thought and seemingly oblivious to the tense atmosphere that had recently returned.
Sun Fei smiled and shook his head, waiting intently.
"Very well, so be it." Hasselbaink's eyes changed, and with a flick of his finger, a wisp of dark mist flowed from his fingertip. He uttered a soft cry, "Ghost from Hell, bare your hideous Teeth and display your wrath upon this filthy world."
call out!
The pale black mist moved with lightning speed, surging into a relatively intact skeleton in the corner of the hall.
The main hall of the [ Ancient Castle of Death ] had not been completely cleared by the soldiers of the [ Wolf Fang Legion ] because of the sudden arrival and occupation by Hasselbaink and Arthur. In the corner of the hall, there were still piles of broken human skeletons, covered with dust, which looked eerie and were obviously very suitable for casting Undead Magic. After the black mist entered, the skeletons that were originally scattered on the ground suddenly stood up with a clatter.
Two glaring crimson dots of light appeared in the skull's dark eye sockets, terrifying to behold. Then, with a grotesque, grating sound of bones grinding together, the skull staggered into the hall. Its head spun 360 degrees, and then, as if possessing its own will, it used its knuckles to tidy up the scattered bone fragments on its body. It picked up a rib from some unknown animal on the ground, waved it around a couple of times, and used it as a weapon.
Skeleton Spell.
Sun Fei could clearly feel that the moment Hasselbaink made his move, a chilling aura filled the hall. This skeleton was probably One-Star Warrior. The Bone Blade in his hand was wiped by that wisp of dark mist, and it immediately revealed a ferocious cold light, as tough as Vajra.
However, the skeleton's true strength was far from what Sun Fei had imagined.
Hasselbaink had already made a name for himself over a hundred years ago, becoming one of the elders of the [ Undead Temple ], which was once able to rival the Holy Church. His strength once made the entire continent tremble. Even after the [ Undead Temple ] was breached by the Church, Hasselbaink was able to escape alive, which shows that his strength was definitely extraordinary. However, the level he just displayed left Sun Fei somewhat disappointed.
call out!
Sun Fei his finger, a wisp of wind as sharp as a sword shattering the skeleton into dust. He then clapped his hands and shook his head, saying, "This is the Undead Magic that makes the entire continent tremble? Too weak."
