Although the Resist of the Alania people never ceased afterward, it must be acknowledged that the Anzhi people had effectively taken control of this ancient and fertile land.
Three months ago, when the brutal and tyrannical Emperor Suleiman Krimorda of Anzhi was killed by Emperor Yashin of the Zenit in St. Petersburg, news spread that the Zenit had declared war on the Anzhi and would send their national guardian warrior, King Chambord, to conquer Anzhi. All the Aranians who harbored the desire to resist and overthrow the racial oppression of the Anzhi and restore the glory of the Goat rejoiced. For a time, flames of resistance raged across the land.
Unfortunately, a sudden disaster brought annihilation to the excited Alania people.
Undead Frenzy.
A terrifying Undead Frenzy swept across half of the former Alania Empire in less than ten days, plunging millions of Alania people into immeasurable danger. They watched helplessly as their loved ones and friends, corrupted by evil forces, transformed into carnage and destructive undead monsters, devouring any living creature around them...
This is an unimaginable kind of pain.
Meanwhile, the brutal rulers of the Anzhi people occupied the giant city protected by towering walls, using a magical shield to block the invasion of dark forces. They enjoyed a life of luxury, gloated over the misfortunes of the Alania people, and, to prevent corruption, drove countless Alania civilians out of the city.
The Sun, as always, radiated boundless heat, shining upon the endless fields where the wind rippled through the green waves.
This once fertile land has lost all its former vitality.
Zombies wandered aimlessly across the plains, occasionally letting out low, meaningless growls.
The air was thick with the stench of rotting corpses. Apart from zombies, there seemed to be no other moving objects on the ground. The mutilated corpses were everywhere, like haystacks after the harvest in autumn. Mutant cats, dogs, and rats with scarlet eyes darted among the corpses, gnawing on their severed limbs.
In the sky, swarms of carrion birds, like locusts in flight, blotted out the sun. They chirped excitedly and frantically, as if attending a grand banquet. At present, in this world, carrion birds can be considered the only species with their own life.
However, it is clear that if they continue to devour the blackened, oozing corpses on the ground, they will also be unable to escape the fate of being contaminated.
This once fertile plain is gradually turning into a living Hell.
However, even the gods must admit that, in many life-or-death situations, the tenacious vitality that humans display is comparable to that of cockroaches. Even in such a Hell environment, some Alania people survived like rats in the apocalypse. They were not corrupted by their relatives who had turned into zombies and survived by sheer luck. However, they had to endure the fear that death could come at any moment and struggled bitterly for survival, for their families, and for their race.
Around noon.
On the edge of a rocky beach not far from the border, behind a clump of tall grass rustling in the wind, several pairs of bright eyes peered through the gaps in the rocks hidden by the grass, watching every move outside. Faint sounds of swallowing saliva and rumbling stomachs could be heard from within.
A moment later, the stones blocking the small hole were pushed aside, and three thin, bony children crawled out.
These are three little ones dressed in rags.
The boy who came out from the front was about fourteen or fifteen years old. He had messy black hair covered with grass clippings. He wore a coarse cloth robe that was riddled with holes. He had fair skin, his face was covered with thorns, and his eyes were very bright, showing a cleverness. He wore a pair of deerskin boots that were obviously a size too big. The top of the boots was tightly tied with a rope to prevent them from falling off when running.
The black-haired boy protected the two little girls, who were only four, five, or six years old, behind him like a mother hen protecting her chicks.
" Leo, I'm so hungry."
"Yes, Leo, I want to eat roast goose."
Behind the black-haired boy Leo were two little girls wearing dresses that were clearly too big for them. The two little girls had skin even whiter than Leo's, and their golden curly hair was covered in mud and grass clippings, reflecting a golden light under the Sun. They were two extremely cute little angels, their rosy cheeks slightly tired and covered in mud, timidly tugging at the boy's clothes, standing behind him.
The three children had clearly not eaten for a long time; their lips were dry, and their steps were unsteady. The two little girls, in particular, had a look of panic in their beautiful eyes, and their small bodies trembled constantly. Whether from fear or hunger, they looked like two frightened little rabbits, their faces filled with terror.
Hearing what the two little sisters said, Leo mustered up his courage.
He quietly stood on high ground and looked around, finding nothing amiss. He turned back and said, "Don't worry, your Leo will go find you something to eat. Listen to your brother; go back into the cave and wait. If you don't see me return, don't come out or make a sound, understand?"
The little girl Jili, looked up, clutching Leo's clothes tightly, and Earth Inquiry anxiously, "Brother, if you leave, will you be like Mom and Dad, never to come back? I'm scared!"
Another little girl Dili, seemed to have thought of something too. She gripped Leo's shirt tightly with her little hands, tears welling in her eyes, and said, "Brother, I'm not hungry anymore, I'm not hungry anymore. Don't go, don't leave Jili and Dili behind, okay? If you leave, what if those monsters come? We'll be scared!"
The boy named Leo bit his lip hard, casually wiping away the tears from his two little sisters' faces. He helped them adjust their clothes and whispered, "Don't be afraid, Miaoli and Jili, be brave. I'll go out and find something to eat, maybe even a roast goose. You two stay quietly in the cave, and I'll definitely be back before dark. Maybe Mom and Dad will come too."
After some encouragement, the two little girls returned to the cave in fear. Leo moved several Dashi to block the entrance, leaving only a vent. He then used weeds to camouflage the cave, making sure no one would notice anything amiss from the outside. Only then did he carefully crouch down and hide himself in the waist-high grass, groping his way forward slowly.
Crystalline tears streamed down the boy's face, washing away the dirt and leaving two clear tear tracks. Unlike his two younger sisters who were still too young to understand, he already knew that his parents, who had been gone for two whole days and hadn't returned, must have died at the hands of the monsters and would never come back.
Now, I can only rely on myself to protect my two younger sisters.
