Sun Fei breathed a sigh of relief.
Since the orcs were willing to follow him to Chambord City, it at least showed that they did not have much animosity towards the Human Clan —this was obviously a very good sign. In this chaotic world, no one wanted to be an enemy of a powerful race. The more allies there were, the more opportunities there were for the race to continue.
The orcs began preparing to set off and packing up their camp.
Only then did Sun Fei have a chance to take a look at the makeshift camp.
Clearly accustomed to living in harsh conditions, the orcs did not have high demands for their quality of life. Apart from a few very simple tents, the most conspicuous thing in the entire camp was the giant pillar carved with some kind of mysterious pattern, which exuded an extremely strange power that enveloped the entire camp.
Sun Fei then realized that in the past half hour or so, there had been no trace of any magical beasts around the camp, nor had he seen a single one of those ubiquitous poisonous insects and mosquitoes. This must have been due to the giant pillar engraved with mysterious patterns.
"That's Giant Totem Pillar," explained High Priest Nash of Fox.
" The Orc Clan is born to cultivate Dou Qi, but their talent in magic is inferior to that of human children. This puts the Behemoth Beastmen at a significant disadvantage in wars with other races. However, fortunately, the Beast God did not abandon his people. We have mastered a third power besides Dou Qi and magic— the Totem Power."
As he spoke, Nash softly sang a very pleasant song.
The massive, golden pillar swayed precariously, its patterns undulating like tadpoles diving underwater, eventually disappearing from the pillar like pencil marks erased with an eraser.
As the mystical patterns disappeared, the golden pillar changed color, becoming an ordinary wooden stake, clearly just chopped from the surrounding forest, still bearing green branches. Without the support of that mysterious power, the stake collapsed to the ground with a thud.
The mysterious power that had enveloped the entire camp vanished.
"So this is the power of totems—a third kind of power that is activated by some kind of mysterious song and takes effect by attaching to a certain medium to form natural elemental patterns."
Sun Fei seemed to be deep in thought.
Some ancient books and legends circulating on the mainland also record the existence of Totem Power, describing it as a powerful force comparable to magic, unique to the Behemoth Beastmen.
However, with the disappearance of the Orc Clan from the continent, this power had not appeared for more than a thousand years, and I never expected to see it today.
There wasn't much of value in the entire camp. These orcs were clearly very poor. Despite being Blazing Sun Class Peak powerhouses, they didn't even have storage rings. The two big guys O'Neal from the Bear Clan and Nowitzki from the Bear Clan Bull Clan, took care of setting up tents and other supplies for the camp. Apart from simple armor and weapons, the others didn't have any rare equipment.
Only the crimson staff in Fox Priest Fox's hand, which emanated a faint aura of Totem Power, indicated that the priests of the Beast God Temple held a high position among the Behemoth Orc Clan.
After everything was packed up, the group set off.
Fox High Priest Nash, however, was wary.
He did not send the Wolf Clan warrior Ginobili and the Spider Clan warrior Battier back along the way they came to report their whereabouts to the orc tribe in the [ Land of Exile ].
In this way, even if they had fallen into Sun Fei's trap and were completely manipulated, at least the clansmen would know where they went before they died.
Sun Fei had anticipated this level of vigilance and said nothing.
If it were His King himself, he would make the same arrangement.
After tidying everything up, Sun Fei led the country bumpkin-like beastmen back the way they came.
Along the way, through conversations, Sun Fei learned that the restlessness of the magical beasts in the Endless Forest Sea was indeed related to these beastmen—they possessed a [ Intimidation Totem ] that could instill great fear in the magical beasts, causing them to avoid them.
The [ Intimidation Totem ] played an immeasurable role in the continuation of the Orc race.
A thousand years ago, if it weren't for this small [ Totem Power ], the migrating orcs would probably have been wiped out by the terrifying fangs and teeth of the monsters in the Endless Forest Sea. Even so, the power of intimidation cannot drive away all monsters, and it is useless against God Level monsters of the Imperial Class and above.
Just like in the legends of the continent, the orcs lost almost more than ten times the population of all other races during that migration. In fact, more than twenty orc races were completely wiped out during that bloody migration.
It was thanks to the power of this Intimidation Totem that this advance team of orcs, composed entirely of Blazing Sun Class Great Perfection experts, was able to safely reach this place.
They traveled approximately 120,000 kilometers close to the ground, which took half a day.
As they approached the edge of the Endless Forest Sea, the powerful magical beasts gradually became scarce, allowing the group to soar through the sky.
The closer they got to the mainland, the more excited the Orc Clan became.
It was like a child who had been away from home for too long, wandered and suffered all the hardships of the world, finally returning to the home he had always dreamed of and seeing his parents. If it weren't for Sun Fei, an outsider, being there, all the orcs would probably have burst into tears.
Even the eyes of High Priest Fox were filled with bright tears.
This was clearly a feeling that Sun Fei could not possibly understand.
Another half day passed, and they finally reached the edge of the Endless Forest Sea. Looking down from the sky, Chambord City was already in sight.
Sun Fei paused briefly.
"To avoid shocking the world, you must change your attire." Sun Fei took out more than a dozen sets of armor and clothing, roughly suitable for the Orc Clan warriors, from his storage ring.
This action caused the country bumpkin beastmen to gasp in astonishment, their mouths watering as they stared at Sun Fei's ring.
"A spatial ring?"
Fox swallowed hard, his trembling throat betraying his shock.
The ease with which spatial storage is made is incredibly rare, making it priceless in the [ Land of Exile ]. For a human's subordinate King to casually produce such a rare treasure, usually reserved for beastman royalty and nobility... has Human Clan truly become unbelievably powerful?
Immediately afterwards, the 'country bumpkins' were once again stunned by what Sun Fei had taken out.
"Is this... really for us?"
"Bear Clan's powerful warrior O'Neal Earth Inquiry Sun Fei incredulously."
"Of course," Sun Fei nodded, answering rather reluctantly.
The Orc Clan ' gazes towards His Majesty the King suddenly became much more complex.
The last vestiges of wariness and vigilance were fading from the hearts of these poor beastmen.
What a precious gift!
Have Human Clan become so hospitable now?
However, Sun Fei's next words immediately made the poor beastmen feel ashamed and embarrassed. In their anger and shame, they wished they could tear this hateful human to pieces to cover up their ignorance and embarrassment.
First update.
