Mu Rufeng chuckled. "Sister Chunni, keep counting. I'll go have a word with him."
"Mm, go on, Xiao Mu. I'll count slowly," Chunni said with a nod.
Then Mu Rufeng and An Lu walked out of the warehouse.
An Lu said coldly, "What exactly are you trying to do?"
"I'm not doing anything," Mu Rufeng said.
"Hurry up and take the goods. Whatever conditions you have, state them," An Lu said.
"One hundred dollars. As long as you pay up, I'll immediately have Sister Chunni take the goods," Mu Rufeng said bluntly, getting straight to the point.
"You're courting death!" An Lu's tentacles suddenly lashed out in all directions.
An Lu's body also grew abnormally tall. His mouth split open all the way beneath his ears, exposing rows upon rows of densely packed sharp teeth. He looked incomparably savage and terrifying.
Mu Rufeng remained utterly unfazed at the sight.
"If you want to make a move, don't worry. I definitely won't fight back," Mu Rufeng said with a faint smile.
"I don't have that much money on me." An Lu suppressed the fury in his heart and returned to normal.
"Then how much do you have?" Mu Rufeng asked.
"I only have fifty dollars," An Lu said.
"Fifty dollars? Hehe, even a driver who's only been here a few days has fifty dollars on him, yet you, an old employee, are telling me you only have fifty?" Mu Rufeng chuckled.
"Food, clothing, housing, and transportation all cost money here. Plastic wrap costs money too. Besides, I just went to see Supervisor Wang. I only have fifty dollars on me," An Lu said.
"Fine, fine. Hand over the fifty." After pondering for a moment, Mu Rufeng reached out and took the fifty dollars.
After taking An Lu's fifty dollars, Mu Rufeng walked into the warehouse with a smile.
"Sister Chunni, you've counted about enough, right?" Mu Rufeng walked over to Chunni's side.
"Mm, Xiao Mu, I'm almost done. Only that tailgate is left. I just need to count it again," Chunni said, nodding.
Once Chunni had finished counting, she confirmed that the numbers on the receipt were correct, then handed her phone to Mu Rufeng.
"Here, sign your name, then take a photo, and it can be put into storage," Chunni said.
Mu Rufeng nodded, took the phone, and signed his name on it. He pinched two ten-dollar bills in his hand and returned them together with the phone.
"Thanks for the trouble, Sister Chunni," Mu Rufeng said with a smile.
"No trouble, no trouble." Chunni swiftly put away the twenty dollars, the smile on her face impossible to suppress.
After taking the photo, Chunni said, "These goods are all received. Oh, right, you unloaded this Blood Flower Beer too, didn't you?"
"That's right, Sister Chunni. I unloaded it too. There are only two pallets left," Mu Rufeng said.
"I see. Alright, go unload them. I'll finish counting these for you first. Once you're done unloading, I'll receive the goods directly," Sister Chunni said.
"Alright, thank you, Sister Chunni."
"Hey, what's there to thank me for? Go on."
Watching the two chat and laugh together, An Lu felt his fury surge to the heavens.
As he passed them, he gave a cold snort to express his displeasure.
Just as the goods had been received, an employee walked out from inside the warehouse.
The employee drove an electric pallet jack, directly towing away one pallet of Scarlet Eyeballs toward the interior of the warehouse.
Then a second employee came out and likewise forked away a pallet of Scarlet Eyeballs.
Seeing this, An Lu immediately placed his own goods in the vacant spot.
Mu Rufeng did not trouble An Lu again. Instead, he pulled all the remaining Blood Flower Beer down from the truck.
Holding the delivery slip the driver had given him, Mu Rufeng finished unloading the second truck as well.
"Sign it." Sister Chunni handed her phone to Mu Rufeng.
Mu Rufeng took it, signed his name, and after another photo was taken, the Blood Flower Beer was received as well.
"Sister Chunni, about how many trucks come in per day?" Mu Rufeng asked.
"Our Best Choice has been running an event these past few days, so there'll be a bit more."
"At most, four or five trucks come in during the morning these two days. There are more in the afternoon, around seven or eight."
"But you don't need to worry. We get off work at six anyway. Whether there are still goods or not, you don't need to unload them."
"Once the event ends tomorrow, there'll be fewer trucks. There's still some time before noon now, so you can rest on the loading dock," Sister Chunni said.
"Alright, Sister Chunni." Mu Rufeng smiled and nodded.
In the blink of an eye, it was noon.
Ring, ring, ring—
A piercing bell rang out throughout the Logistics Park.
The instant the bell rang, every employee at work put down what they were doing at the same time and walked straight in one direction as though they had arranged it beforehand.
Mu Rufeng had just risen from the ground when he saw An Lu jump down from the loading dock and head straight toward the cafeteria.
Seeing this, Mu Rufeng immediately got to his feet and followed behind An Lu.
Come to think of it, when he had entered, he had happened to have just finished dinner, so he had not gone hungry.
But now that it was twelve o'clock, Mu Rufeng's stomach was already growling with hunger.
After walking for only four or five minutes, he saw that familiar cafeteria.
It could be called familiar, but it could also be called unfamiliar.
That was because the cafeteria here was far too gloomy, with a dark and sinister atmosphere.
Mu Rufeng followed the crowd into the cafeteria.
The cafeteria's layout was quite different from that of Best Choice in the real world.
There were many tables and chairs, and many employees, but only three serving windows.
As a result, enormous queues had formed at all three windows.
Mu Rufeng did not join the line, instead walking straight to the side of a serving window.
Sure enough, the moment Mu Rufeng saw the food being sold inside, his entire body went numb.
There were not many kinds of dishes, only five.
Each was served in an enormous aluminum basin.
Just looking at the names of the dishes made Mu Rufeng's scalp tingle.
Mu Rufeng did not think those dish names were fake.
Then where had these ingredients come from?
Smelling the bloody scent drifting out from the basins, Mu Rufeng unconsciously swallowed.
"Damn it, I'm not a real zombie. I don't drink blood." Mu Rufeng forcibly suppressed the thoughts in his mind.
"Kid, these dishes all taste pretty good. Looking at how sturdy you are, I bet you taste pretty good too."
At that moment, an employee waiting in line beside him spoke in a sinister voice.
Clearly, he had recognized that Mu Rufeng was human.
"I heard the company recruited employees from the human world. Is this the third or fourth one?"
"The fourth. I've even eaten one before. That taste was truly incredible, far fresher than the stuff in this cafeteria." A particularly tall man licked his lips as he spoke.
