"At least the Prime Minister will be buried with us!"
Sniper Jimmy turned to glance at Mussolini in the dungeon and said with a grin.
A large-caliber bullet shot from the muzzle. Its penetrating force, which should have blown open an enemy's skull, instantly punched a huge hole through the burly man whose muscles were like steel!
Yet, to their despair, the metal coating his body flowed like molten liquid and filled the wound.
In only a few breaths, the burly body with its silvery gleam had returned to normal.
"I thought the commander was already enough of a monster. I never expected... this world is truly insane!"
Manelli said with a bitter smile.
He was like the Germans who had first seen tanks at the Somme during World War I. Faced with such steel monsters, humanity had no chance of winning, much less the courage to fight them.
"When necessary, kill Mussolini! We absolutely cannot let them succeed!"
Dugan grabbed a submachine gun and unleashed another crazed burst of fire.
Unfortunately, it did no damage at all, creating only a negligible distraction at most.
Mussolini, who was tightly bound and locked in the dungeon behind them, wore a delighted expression instead.
He knew that Hitler, far away in Berlin, Germany, had always been conducting research into superhumans.
He simply did not know the specifics.
Who would have thought that the Axis Powers had such extraordinary people among them!
"Wait, outside... there seems to be some movement!"
Dugan, nicknamed "Dum Dum," had already prepared himself to die for his country.
The Howling Commandos were all battle-hardened veterans, so naturally they were not afraid of death.
Still, just as they were about to receive medals from the President, become War Heroes, and enjoy flowers and honor, it was somewhat regrettable that they would die in a foreign land.
Rumble!
A deafening blast rang out!
Just as the Howling Commandos resolved to die and prepared to make a heroic sacrifice—
A thunderous roar, like artillery fire, echoed through the dungeon.
Dust shook loose from the gaps between the bricks, filling the corridor and making Dugan cough repeatedly.
Outside the dungeon, it seemed as though some enormous beast was walking past, each step causing a shocking commotion.
"What's going on?"
The steel man at the front turned and asked.
Had those Allied Nations bastards driven a tank into Venice Palace?
Boom!
The ground trembled. Outside, it was as though a hurricane had swept through. An enhanced warrior wearing a Hydra armband streaked in a swift, straight line and slammed viciously into the thick wall.
Rubble sprayed everywhere, bricks flew through the air!
The flesh and blood of the enhanced warrior, who had been injected with an inferior serum, seemed to have been put through a blender, pulverized into mush in an instant and smeared across the wall in a glaring crimson abstract painting.
The entire scene looked as though a tomato had been hurled hard against the wall!
Then!
A second, a third...
The enhanced warriors guarding outside the dungeon smashed through the hole in the broken wall one after another.
The violent painting of smeared flesh grew more and more vividly colored!
"Is that Allied captain? Looks like Chameleon failed. Useless trash."
The "devil," with red skin and a long tail swishing behind him, rolled his eyes and said disdainfully.
His name was Azazel, nicknamed the Red Devil. He was also a member of the Hellfire Club and one of Sebastian Shaw's subordinates.
"I'll deal with the guy outside! You take Mussolini back. He's the one that Fuhrer in Berlin specifically demanded!"
Red Devil Azazel snorted. As a Mutant, he had always thought highly of himself and looked down on ordinary humans.
Most of the Mutants who joined the Hellfire Club had suffered discrimination and harm from others, so they were easily brainwashed by Sebastian Shaw's "racial theories."
They believed in extreme claims such as "Mutants are the future" and "Humans are the lower class, while Mutants can become the upper class."
The irony was that the leader they followed, Sebastian Shaw, was not truly a Mutant at all.
That mad Nazi scientist had merely activated the dormant X-Gene within his body through organ transplants, thereby gaining gifted abilities.
Strictly speaking, Sebastian Shaw was not one of the Mutants. At most, he was an altered human who had stolen Mutant powers.
The red figure vanished like a wisp of smoke.
Then, he appeared in front of Luke.
"Although that Chameleon's ability..."
Bang!
Before Red Devil Azazel could finish speaking, a heavy, powerful punch was already crashing toward him.
The surging airflow swept up dust like a tide draining away!
The terrifying force of it made Red Devil Azazel shut his mouth at once. His figure vanished in an instant, reappearing some distance away.
"Is this guy a Mutant?"
Staring at the shattered ground, where the compressed air had blasted out a huge crater, Red Devil Azazel felt a lingering fear and voiced the same question as Chameleon.
In this era, people's understanding of superpowered individuals was limited to "Mutants."
"You're the 'Superman' who captured Mussolini alive and conquered Italy?"
Red Devil Azazel asked with a sneer.
"Superman?"
A trace of surprise appeared in Luke's eyes. Since when had he acquired that title?
"You're the Allied Nations' Super Soldier. The whole world is spreading the legendary tale of how you led a team into Rome, conquered Italy, and captured the dictator alive... Roosevelt and Churchill said that you possessed power beyond ordinary men and had accomplished an astonishing miracle that no one else would have dared imagine."
Red Devil seemed somewhat disdainful. With a soft snort, he said, "Now the Allied Nations all call you 'Superman,' saying that you'll lead the Allied forces to victory!"
After hearing that, Luke could not help but laugh.
He had not expected that, through such a twist of fate, he would end up with this title.
Superman in the Marvel World?
That was really interesting.
"Thank you for the enthusiastic explanation, but tonight's farce ends here."
Luke's smile faded, his expression turning cold.
The next moment, he charged forward!
Fine cracks spread across the hard ground like a spiderweb.
His dark-red cape billowed. In less than a second, Luke had reached Red Devil.
His towering body bore down like a wall.
The terrifying wind pressure let out a piercing hiss!
"Too fast..."
With Red Devil's reaction speed, there was no way he could have dodged.
But relying on his awareness of danger, the red figure dispersed like smoke, avoiding Luke's head-on charge.
"Since when did the Allied forces have a monster like this!"
Red Devil shifted into the air, then blinked several times, opening up a considerable distance.
Only then did he seem to regain a sense of safety.
Luke, like a humanoid tyrannosaur, had left a deep impression on Red Devil.
The other man only had to swing his fists and flex his muscles to produce roaring shockwaves. It was clear just how terrifying his physical strength was!
"Unless it's Mr. Shaw, no one could possibly withstand the force of a punch head-on!"
Red Devil came to that conclusion.
His long, slender tail curled around a sharp dagger, and a glint of killing intent flashed deep within his eyes.
As long as he was human, he would always have weaknesses!
This Allied captain did not look like a Mutant. Otherwise, he should have shown some emotional reaction upon seeing him.
"As long as I avoid his fists, there's really nothing to be afraid of!"
Red Devil looked at Luke's icy gaze and inexplicably felt his confidence swell. I can do this. I'm back in business.
With several rapid teleportations, he closed in on the Allied captain!
That sharp, inverted-triangle tail was like another arm extending from his body. Aside from maintaining excellent balance, it could also wield weapons with great flexibility.
The sharp dagger stabbed toward the back of Luke's head!
"Your movements are too slow."
Hearing the rushing wind behind him, Luke spoke coldly.
His right leg lashed out like an iron whip. Twisting his body, he blew apart the air and kicked at Red Devil's head!
Even before it came close, its fierce wind could be felt, like a massive wave sweeping through the sky with astonishing momentum!
The air seemed like a powder keg that had been ignited, erupting with an explosive roar.
Red Devil smiled smugly, his body abruptly vanishing and causing the terrifying whip kick to miss.
It had merely been a feint to draw Luke's attention!
Smoke gathered. After two flashes, Red Devil suddenly appeared.
The sharp dagger curled around by the tail stabbed straight at Luke's throat!
"I told you, your movements... are too slow!"
Luke's eyes flickered slightly. Without dodging, he turned and twisted his head aside, his powerful left arm shooting out!
Clang! Clang!
The sharp dagger struck his neck, only to rebound violently.
Seizing the instant Red Devil froze in shock, Luke grabbed that long, slender tail.
With a hard yank, Red Devil was dragged over against his will!
His left hand pulled the tail while his right hand clenched into a fist and slammed forward!
An uppercut flew out!

PS2: Readers, you don't need to keep explaining the setting that the Marvel World has DC comics. It isn't some core setting; it's mainly there to make it convenient for the two companies' crossover and official jokes from long ago. Also, since there will be plotlines involving the neighboring universe later on, just automatically ignore that point.
PS3: Also, the protagonist's battle suit isn't like the one from Steel Body. Readers who have played Injustice 2 can just picture Superman's Regime set. I originally wanted to post an image, but Qidian swallowed countless comments. I'm exhausted.
PS4: If readers have more suitable images, feel free to post them in the review section or the character image collection. I'll pin and like them~
