Duan Ming left without another word, keeping to himself.
It had indeed been an inhuman training session.
Even though his control over Qi far surpassed that of his classmates,
the entire day's training had utterly destroyed what his body could endure, leaving nothing behind.
"What's wrong?" Lin Qiao walked over to Du Qinggang and followed his gaze to Duan Ming as he left.
"He was the only one who didn't let his Qi leak while cultivating during the three hours of training just now."
Lin Qiao watched Duan Ming leave alone, a complicated look on her face. "Isn't your training method a little too cruel for them when they've only just started learning to use Qi?"
"Cruel? The enemy is crueler than I am! It's only been three hours since they started cultivating."
Lin Qiao smiled. "But to them, each day feels like a year."
Du Qinggang silently watched Duan Ming leave.
"Training has to cover every angle!"
"What bad idea have you come up with now?"
A wicked grin spread across Du Qinggang's face.
Six in the evening.
After leaving the cafeteria, Duan Ming headed for the classroom building.
He still had a foreign language class that evening.
School wouldn't be over until after the class.
They had to learn foreign languages because they might travel to all sorts of places after becoming Divine Power Masters.
If they went somewhere unfamiliar and couldn't understand the local language, that would be far from a good thing.
Knowing one more language meant having one more survival skill.
Just as he reached the classroom door, a big black dinosaur suddenly whooshed out.
"Roar!"
A cold glint flashed in Duan Ming's eyes, and he instinctively took a step back.
"Teacher Du, you're so bored..."
Huh?
Du Qinggang pulled off the dinosaur head in confusion and studied the young man standing before him, finding it very strange.
He hadn't scared him!
Not only that, but from beginning to end, there hadn't been the slightest trace of panic in the young man's eyes.
The only time his expression had changed was when Du Qinggang first jumped out.
But that hadn't been fear. It had been the wariness one felt when facing danger!
What's going on?
Who did this guy learn to stay so calm in a crisis from?
That look in his eyes when faced with something unexpected was not one a newly enrolled student should have.
What he didn't know was that Duan Ming had already encountered countless unexpected situations in thousands of dreams.
"Good lad, how did you know it was me?"
"Because nobody but you would be this bored."
"Uh..."
This brat had actually called his training method boring?
Interesting.
Kid, you've successfully caught my attention.
"All right, I can't scare you. Go on in, and don't make a sound. I still have to scare the students coming after you."
Duan Ming nodded, went inside, and sat in his seat, quietly watching Du Qinggang hide behind the classroom wall.
It was hard to imagine that the man in the dinosaur costume was actually a Divine Power Master with five Divine Marks!
So this is the legendary guy in a dragon suit?
He could faintly hear several sets of footsteps and voices outside. There were at least five people.
Just as the group arrived at the door, chatting and laughing,
Du Qinggang gathered all his strength, leaped out, and threw his head back with a roar.
"Ah! Holy shit!"
Sure enough, everyone jumped in fright.
Two of them were so scared they even crumpled to the ground.
While everyone was still reeling from the fright, Du Qinggang took off the dinosaur head and shook his head. "You lot won't do."
"Holy shit. Could you be any more bored?!"
"I fucking nearly pissed myself."
"Teacher Du, what are you doing?"
Du Qinggang said in a quiet voice, "Testing you. Unfortunately, none of you passed."
"A test?" One of the boys sitting on the ground looked completely bewildered.
"That's right, a test," Du Qinggang said. "Being able to stay calm when faced with an unexpected situation is also a required lesson for a Divine Power Master! A fake like me scared you this badly. If a real one suddenly popped out, you might be killed before you even had time to piss yourselves."
Sitting in the classroom, Duan Ming calmly watched everything happening at the door.
He had to admit, this man's teaching style was very direct, completely different from the other teachers'.
It was much more useful than simply lecturing them.
Aside from being a little sloppy, he was definitely a qualified Divine Power instructor.
Once the students recovered, Du Qinggang told them to go inside and reminded them not to make a sound.
The group came in and made their way to the back row, grumbling and cursing.
But they all turned toward the door.
Everyone wanted to watch the show that was about to unfold.
Without exception, every student who arrived next, boy or girl, jumped when Du Qinggang scared them.
"Holy shit! A dinosaur!"
"Can't you do something a normal person would do?"
"Good thing only a few drops came out. I managed to hold the rest in."
Quite a few girls had been so frightened that their legs went weak.
"I'm very disappointed in you!"
Du Qinggang stood at the lectern, his lower body still inside the dinosaur costume.
"Duan Ming was the only one who behaved the way a Divine Power Master should. As for the rest of you, I'd be ashamed to say I taught you."
Quite a few people looked at Duan Ming.
Had Duan Ming not been scared?
"Still... you've only just enrolled, so I can't be too hard on you. But I hope you'll be able to stay alert at all times from now on."
"Because as long as I'm here, I could disguise myself as anything and jump out to scare you at any time, anywhere!"
"Is this guy going to keep targeting our class one from now on?"
"I actually think this teaching method is pretty good."
"Good my ass. He scared my soul right out of me. I'll have to go home and get my grandma to call it back."
Du Qing reached into the dinosaur costume and struggled to pull out a crumpled ten-yuan note. Looking at one of the boys, he said, "Hey, Dong Kai, go buy your teacher a pack of cigarettes."
A skinny boy said, "The school store isn't allowed to sell cigarettes to students."
"Who said that?"
"The principal."
"The principal isn't here. If it weren't so hard to walk around in this dinosaur suit, I'd go myself."
"Captain Du, come out for a moment."
No one knew when Principal Li Zhengming had arrived at the door.
Quite a few people snickered.
"What are you laughing at?"
Du Qinggang shuffled awkwardly out the door in the dinosaur costume.
"What are you doing? Putting on a performance?"
Principal Li Zhengming's face darkened.
"No, I'm training their reactions."
Li Zhengming, who was over ninety, nodded with a grave expression. "Come on, let's go to my office. There's something I need to tell you."
