After many cities in the Eagle Country were hit by nuclear bombs, the Eagle Country was in chaos. Even the heavily fortified capital was now completely paralyzed.
Everywhere, people were trying to drive out of the city. Countless vehicles were crammed together, with minor and major collisions and accidents causing chaos and congestion throughout the streets.
Even so, it couldn't stop many people from wanting to flee. They didn't know where it would be safe to escape to, but they understood one thing: the farther away from big cities, the better.
However, the city's controllers, the high-ranking officials of the Eagle Country, clearly did not want these things to happen. Escaping was not the problem, but paralyzing the entire city's transportation, causing their logistics to be disrupted, and affecting their food supply, would be a serious problem.
Even when seeking refuge, the quality of life must be guaranteed—that's the nature of capitalists. Although the shelters store a large amount of supplies, that's in preparation for surviving the long period of climate change following a nuclear attack. Since the city is still functioning normally at this stage, there's naturally no need to use these things.
Soon, under strong orders from higher-ups, the Eagle Country army began clearing the blocked road. They simply used a large trailer to tow the vehicles blocking the road aside, leaving them on the roadside or in the river, as long as they weren't blocking the way.
The drivers who were forced off the road were also driven away from the main route. The soldiers along the roadside had already set up their posts, and anyone who wanted to drive on the road was simply given a beating.
Even so, clearing this main road won't be a quick task. There are too many people, and people from the city are still constantly leaving. As people are clearing the road, others are arriving. At this rate, it will probably take several more days to finish.
Just as the capital of the Eagle Country was on the verge of collapse due to the congested traffic, a missile quietly arrived over the city. Its positioning was perfectly timed; just before reaching the city center, the missile exploded.
However, the explosion was very small, like a dud, with little spark or noise. It just shattered the warhead into dozens of fragments, which, carrying inertia, fell toward the city center.
Although radar can detect these missile fragments, they are too fragmented and lack any heat or power source, so they are naturally filtered out by radar as debris.
Fragments fell from the sky, landing scattered among the many buildings in the center of the Eagle Country's capital.
Some landed on rooftops, while others shattered windows and fell inside the building. Objects falling from the sky carry considerable momentum, making their impact quite powerful.
Because everyone was rushing out, there weren't many people in the city center; it was as quiet as a ghost town.
The fragment carrying the Spatial Beacon landed directly in a golf course located in the city center.
As the space beacon landed, its position on the map stopped moving. Once the space carrier detected that it had stopped, everyone understood that the missile had landed.
The fact that the Spatial Ring on this side of the space carrier is still functioning normally means that the Spatial Beacon is undamaged.
Ground troops, prepare to attack.
Now that the space gate was in place, they didn't hesitate and set off directly from the space carrier, heading straight for the Eagle Country parliament to take down all the high-ranking officials of the Eagle Country.
As soon as the order was given, the cultivators, who had already lined up and were ready to attack, immediately began to move, and the entire force rushed towards the location of the spatial gate.
One second they were on the space carrier, surrounded by soldiers and heavy armored vehicles, and the next second they were standing in the heart of the capital of the Eagle Country.
Looking around, it seems we're on a golf course. An endless expanse of green stretches out in all directions, and several automatic sprinkler systems are in operation.
I opened the map and glanced at it; they had indeed come from the same place.
This golf course is located in the city center of the Eagle Country's capital, basically below the highest administrative district of the Eagle Country, and right next to the highest governing body of the entire Eagle Country — the White House.
They really know how to enjoy life! They built a golf course right next to the White House. The price must be exorbitant!
However, there was no one there now. In one corner of the field, a few carts were still moving, but the carts had overturned and were still turning, and the people who had driven them were nowhere to be seen.
They've probably already fled.
"Stay vigilant and advance towards Congress."
Cultivators from Divine Land poured out of the spatial gate in an endless stream, and each one quickly headed to their designated location after emerging.
The first group of people to emerge shielded the spatial portal behind them. After emerging, they immediately used their personal array plates to cover the portal. The subsequent cultivators then began to advance in all directions, exploring and occupying advantageous terrain as they went.
Then the main force emerged from the gate. The troops were organized into platoons, and once everyone was present, they began to advance towards the surrounding strategic locations.
They aim to seize control of the entire ruling group in the Eagle Country as quickly as possible with lightning speed.
After the cultivators in front had taken over the entire area near the spatial gate, heavy firepower and large military armor poured out of the spatial gate. The accompanying operators quickly confirmed the location, deployed the armor and firepower, and locked all the artillery fire on the location of the Eagle Country's parliament.
The cultivators attacked very quickly, and it took them less than five minutes to fully deploy their positions.
Meanwhile, the situation in the Eagle Country was still in turmoil. After confirming that no nuclear missiles had landed in the capital, the high-ranking officials of the Eagle Country were evacuated from the refuge under the parliament.
Everyone was frantically discussing how to appease the survivors in other cities, compile statistics on the overall damage across the country, and, incidentally, formulate plans for the occupation and control of other countries and regions.
Everyone is speaking out for their own interests, while also dreaming about how to seize more territory in the new world order.
Just as they were arguing fiercely, a cannon shot rang out from outside the window.
The noise immediately silenced them, and many looked towards the door, waiting for the security personnel to come in and report what had happened outside.
Strangely, the explosion outside was brief and then silenced, but the security personnel at the door never came in to report the situation.
After waiting for a few minutes, someone finally couldn't resist and opened the door, wanting to go out and find out what was going on.
But before they could even leave the corridor, they discovered something shocking.
Outside the entire building, none of the familiar security personnel were present; instead, the building was completely surrounded by soldiers in green uniforms.
Dozens of gun barrels were pointed directly at them.
Upon seeing this, the person who came out immediately covered his head with his hands and curled up on the ground. Judging from his experienced demeanor, this was definitely not the first time he had faced a gun.
The others following behind him did the same and immediately climbed down.
Then a cultivator stepped forward, grabbed them by the back of their collars, and led them aside.
The idea of surrounding the entire Capitol without a direct attack was the old general's.
To be honest, he didn't expect the raid to go so smoothly, wiping them out in one fell swoop right here.
Out of respect for their old adversary, the Eagle Country, the old general decided to give them a more dignified way of being taken prisoner, rather than simply going in with guns to clear the area.
After all, these people might still be useful. At the very least, they could be taken back to China, kept in some kind of Eagle King's Mansion in the Imperial Capital, and then opened to the public for a ticket sale. That would probably be more popular than a zoo.
