In the novel "Shinigami: The Unforgiven," Chapter 27, "The Gathering of the Star Cross Girls," the inner city of the Seireiheki is known to outsiders as Silbern.
In fact, Silbern refers to the central, massive fortress that is over a thousand meters high and looks like it's pieced together from several castles.
The passageway inside was very high and wide, so large that one could sense a chill in the air.
Uryū Ishida disliked large buildings; he preferred family homes that were small but had a human touch, making people feel warm and cozy rather than cold and impersonal.
As he looked around, he followed Bambietta forward, asking at every fork in the road, "Lady Bambietta, which way does that road lead?"
"The other Sternritter."
Bambietta always gave an impatient reply.
She gave the same answer every time, making Uryū Ishida wonder if she was lying to him. But considering the number of Sternritter, he figured it might not be fake.
Aside from Yhwach, codenamed A, the Sternritter consists of twenty-six members.
The forks in the road we just passed numbered no more than thirteen, which is less than the number of people there. It wouldn't be wrong to say that these were the residences of the Sternritter.
"Lord Bambietta."
"Shut up!"
Bambietta interrupted him, turning around angrily and saying, "You've been rambling on and on since just now. Are you that curious about the structure of Silbern?"
"Yes, I have great respect for the Sternritter, and even more so for His Yhwach. Naturally, I am curious about your residence, Silbern."
The First Evolution
Uryū Ishida was spouting nonsense with a straight face.
Bambietta looked at him and snorted, "I envy your ignorance."
Some members of the Sternritter regarded Yhwach as a god, while others were simply subservient to His Majesty's fear.
Bambietta is the latter.
She remained in Silbern out of fear of death that might result from disobeying His Majesty.
As for the Quincy's glory and long-cherished wish, those are things she can only properly discuss while she's alive.
"Lady Bambietta, where did that road lead?"
Uryū Ishida paid no attention to her subtle thoughts, only focusing on his own problems.
Bambietta's eyes widened; she really wanted to blow this guy up with a bomb. "Shut up, come with me."
"Okay." Uryū Ishida didn't say anything, obediently following her forward, memorizing the path he took.
"Hey, say something!"
Perhaps it was her earlier rambling that made Bambietta suddenly feel uncomfortable with the current silent atmosphere.
Uryū Ishida spoke up, "Lady Bambietta, that road we just saw..."
"Shut up, that's not what I asked you to talk about. Don't you have any other topics? Like praising my charm, my outfit, or these big breasts that make men drool."
Bambietta confidently lifted it up; her size wasn't very common.
"..." Uryū Ishida remained silent for a long time. Everyone has different aesthetic standards. In his eyes, appearance was secondary. The most important thing was whether one could have the gentle temperament of one's mother.
Just like Miss Unohana... The thought of her brought a strange bitterness to Uryū Ishida's heart.
That was his lost first love.
"Hey, why did you suddenly go silent? It's making me feel awkward. Am I not good-looking?"
Bambietta was furious. She wouldn't dare say she was the strongest in the Sternritter, but when it came to beauty, she was undoubtedly the undisputed number one in the Sternritter!
"Yes, you're very beautiful," Uryū Ishida replied insincerely.
Bambietta sensed his perfunctory attitude, her face darkened, murderous intent flickered in her eyes, her chest heaved, and her hands clenched and unclenched.
While there were some in the Sternritter who dared to defy her, it was truly unusual for a mere guard to speak like that.
"You're lucky."
Bambietta muttered something and continued walking ahead, without asking to speak further.
I walked all the way to her room; the door was open, and the light was on inside.
The girls' voices drifted from inside into the hallway outside.
Bambietta quickened her pace, slammed her hand on the door, and shouted, "Why didn't you wait for me before you started eating?!"
Uryū Ishida followed her, glancing inside. The hall was brightly lit, and the tables were laden with candies, snacks, and black tea.
The remaining female members of the Sternritter were gathered here.
P, G, Z, T.
Recalling the Schrift on the four people's uniforms, Uryū Ishida felt a sense of unease. Were the Schrift the instructor spoke of simply the title of the Sternritter, or did they have some other meaning?
"You're half an hour late, and you still have the nerve to make people wait? Is the skin on your face pigskin?"
The blonde girl bit into the cheese crisp and replied in a nasty tone.
The pink-haired "big" girl spoke up, "At least remember the tea party is at 7:30, right?"
"If you can't Kisuke Urahara, then don't go see him."
The green-haired woman grumbled, "Every time you meet someone, you have to find a handsome guy to vent your anger on. You've found another one this time. You're not planning to do it in front of us, are you?"
"Okay, you guys are so annoying."
Bambietta waved casually, knowing she was in the wrong, but still didn't apologize.
She considered herself the leader of the girl group, so how could she possibly apologize to her subordinates? Not holding them accountable was already being generous.
" Ishida, you stay outside."
She told Uryū Ishida to go outside, as it was time for the women's tea party, and there was no need for men to serve them.
"Hmm." Uryū Ishida nodded, stepped out of the door, and helped close it, but not completely, leaving a small gap so he could eavesdrop on the conversation inside.
"That guy looks kind of familiar." " Candice, you've finally shown interest in that area? I'll give him to you." "No way!"
Candice vehemently denied it, deciding to stop thinking about who Uryū Ishida resembled to avoid being laughed at by these guys, and changed the subject of the tea party, saying, "I heard that Shinigami has infiltrated Silbern."
"Today is June 3rd, Kisuke Urahara's execution is on June 15th. It's normal for the Shinigami to be in a hurry."
"Were the intruders caught?" "No, they were supposedly the Sōji of the Stealth Force, and their Shunpo ' was incredibly fast."
Why haven't I received any messages?
Bambietta's eyes widened.
"Since Candice is the most popular among us, Accutrone probably sought her help."
" Gigi, shut up! That's not true!"
Candice loudly denied it, saying it was just a coincidence, Accutrone asked her to keep it a secret and give him more time to pursue the suspect.
Bambietta raised an eyebrow, a look of sudden realization crossing her face. Accutrone was an old man who had followed His Majesty for a long time, but his strength was not much.
"That old guy's speed has become negligible now; he's probably refusing to report it because he's afraid of being punished by Haschwalth."
There's not much to say.
Candice suddenly regretted it; she shouldn't have used this topic to divert attention from what she had been thinking.
Outside the door, Uryū Ishida fell into deep thought. Shinigami infiltrated Silbern?
Perhaps we can make use of it.
