On the dead, desolate Titan, sandstorms spiraled through the sky. A trace of loneliness appeared on Thanos's impassive purple face.
He pressed a hand over the vicious wound in his chest and looked around. The loyal Black Order had all died one after another. Ebony Maw's headless corpse lay at his feet, Cull Obsidian had become a pile of rubble, and Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight had been blasted into dust.
From the Mad Titan to the Cosmic Overlord, after walking this path for so long, he was now the only one left.
"You should kill me now..."
Thanos looked at Sean in the distance. Their gazes collided, sending invisible ripples through the air.
This Earthling, who had driven him into a corner and even crossed time and space to hunt him down, had been the greatest variable in Thanos's entire plan.
Everything had been like a line of dominoes. Knock one down, and it triggered the chain reaction that followed, link after link, until the entire situation instantly collapsed!
"Rather than killing you, I want to know the answer."
A faint smile touched Sean's lips. He said softly, "Perhaps you might still turn things around. If you kill me on this future timeline, time's recoil will correct everything—if I cease to exist..."
"You would not suffer defeat. The Black Order and the Chitauri army would conquer Asgard, Loki would be placed on the throne like a puppet, then obtain the Tesseract, draw out the Sorcerer Supreme of Kamar-Taj, and acquire the Eye of Agamotto... The Infinity Stones would eventually fall into your hands. Then, with a light snap of your fingers, you would wipe out half the life in the universe."
Sean spoke at length, as though he were truly imagining where the story would go after the timeline
