The reporters holding cameras and the citizens sitting before their televisions could not bear to watch any longer. They closed their eyes, crying out in their hearts: Who could stop this?!

Dozens of police officers and the special forces that had come as reinforcements were about to be massacred by the Mutants without any ability to resist. Yet no one could stop it. Spider-Man, one of the Superheroes, was busy saving the innocent civilians trapped inside Worthington Tower. And judging by the tremendous power the other side had displayed, even if Spider-Man arrived, he might not be a match for the evil Mutant known as "Magneto."

After several seconds of silence, the anticipated bloody scene did not occur. The metal bullets hurtling toward them had been stopped, hanging in midair as though frozen, unable to advance another inch!

Magneto sensed an invisible force blocking the bullets. He instantly thought of an old friend he had not seen for years. Just as alarm rose in his heart, a powerful arm clamped around his throat.

Sabretooth Victor, whose mind was not particularly sharp, had seized the Brotherhood leader by the neck. With only a little force, he could snap the old man's neck. No matter how formidable Magneto was, he was still flesh and blood. Without his innate ability to manipulate magnetic fields and control metal, a single bullet—or even a dagger—could take his life.

Mystique reacted at once, but before she could make a move, Toad had fixed his eyes on her. "You'd better keep quiet, Raven."

"Erik, you've done enough today. Let them go." Sabretooth Victor's eyes were vacant, as though someone else had taken possession of his body.

The situation immediately reversed. Magneto, whose life was now under threat, stood atop the steel cross and swept his gaze around.
