Ch. 204The Manhunt

Catherine, Lulith, and Monbuma were surrounded by Macaron’s forces after Luo Chen killed Limon, and they fought back rather than surrender. A call from Limon’s Den Den Mushi revealed that Katakuri’s men had ordered the island to arrest the Luo Chen Pirates and hold them until they arrived.

  • The commander told Catherine, Lulith, and Monbuma that Luo Chen had killed Limon and ordered them to surrender for execution.
  • Lulith and Catherine drew their weapons and fought the soldiers, while Monbuma chose to join them and help clear a path.
  • Catherine approved Monbuma’s courage and promised to help him join the Luo Chen Pirates as their cook.
  • Half an hour earlier, Limon’s butler answered his Den Den Mushi and told the caller that Limon had been killed by Luo Chen.
  • A second man ordered the butler to mobilize Macaron’s armed forces, capture the Luo Chen Pirates, and hold at least one of them until they arrived.

Ch. 205The Arrest

Katakuri and Jack ordered their forces to converge on Macaron Island and eliminate the Luo Chen Pirates after learning that Limon had been killed. On the island, soldiers arrested George and Singh, but the pair prepared to fight back.

  • Katakuri learned that Luo Chen had defeated and killed Limon, then ordered his brothers to summon the pirate fleet and attack around Macaron.
  • Jack learned the Luo Chen Pirates were on Macaron and that the Charlotte Family was moving against them, but ordered his fleet to join the assault anyway.
  • George and Singh were surrounded by Macaron soldiers while eating, and George confirmed that they belonged to the Luo Chen Pirates.
  • An officer ordered George and Singh arrested without explaining the accusation, then commanded his soldiers to attack.
  • George told Singh to act with him so they could find out what had happened elsewhere.

Ch. 206Escape

George and Singh defeated the soldiers sent to capture them, while Phil watched and decided to seek out the Luo Chen Pirates. Catherine, Lulith, and Monbuma also finished their fight and headed back to the Isel, where Luo Chen waited without knowing that his actions had caused the crew’s trouble.

  • George transformed into a giant ape and, with Singh, routed the soldiers and forced their officer to watch them leave.
  • Phil revealed himself as a powerful fighter who had been observing George and Singh to judge the Luo Chen Pirates, then intimidated the officer and followed the two back toward the ship.
  • Catherine and Lulith confirmed their opponents were defeated, and Monbuma joined them as they returned to the Isel.
  • Luo Chen waited aboard the Isel and complained that his crew had not returned, unaware that the trouble he had caused had kept them on the island.

Ch. 207Setting Sail (Two-in-One)

Luo Chen and his crew left Macaron after welcoming Monbuma aboard, unaware that powerful fleets were closing in on them. The chapter ended with the Isel under cannon fire from an enemy who appeared to know their identity.

  • Catherine scolded Luo Chen for leaving the crew to handle the trouble on Macaron, and he apologized before she forgave him.
  • George confirmed the Log Pose had recorded Macaron's magnetic force, and the crew set sail aboard the Isel while Luo Chen lounged on deck.
  • Katakuri led a Big Mom fleet toward the Isel, Jack the Drought gathered an allied fleet to attack Luo Chen's crew, and Phil stole a fisherman's boat to pursue them.
  • Luo Chen met Monbuma over dinner and welcomed him as a new member of the Luo Chen Pirates.
  • Cannon fire struck near the Isel during the meal, and Luo Chen warned that the attackers likely knew who they were.

Ch. 208Under Siege

Luo Chen and his crew were ambushed by Katakuri's Charlotte Pirates and found themselves surrounded with no escape route. Luo Chen boarded Katakuri's flagship alone to hold off the enemy while his crew prepared to fight and flee.

  • Catherine identified the approaching fleet as the Charlotte Family's, and the crew learned that Katakuri was leading the attack.
  • Luo Chen ordered the crew to fight, then sliced apart the fleet's soul-filled tracking cannonballs as Katakuri's ships closed in and surrounded the Isel.
  • Luo Chen told his crew to repel boarders and escape while he held Katakuri off, despite Catherine, Singh, and George warning him of the danger.
  • Luo Chen leaped onto Katakuri's flagship, where his landing rocked the ship and prompted an attendant to order guards to seize him.

Ch. 209Fierce Battle (Part One)

As Luo Chen faced Katakuri, Catherine, George, and Singh fought off the invading pirates aboard the Isel. Opera attacked the fleeing pirates and then confronted George, trapping him in cream and leaving him bound on the deck.

  • Catherine and Singh told George to focus on driving the invaders back while Luo Chen handled Katakuri.
  • George and Singh used their strength to knock the invading pirates into the sea, where a Sea King swallowed many of them.
  • Opera ordered his gunners to fire on the fleeing pirates, killing them rather than allowing them back aboard.
  • Opera appeared beside George and introduced himself as Mama's Minister of Cream, then challenged the crew to surrender.
  • George attacked Opera with Ground-Falling Hammer, but Opera blocked the blow and ensnared him in cream until he fell unconscious or exhausted onto the deck.

Ch. 210Fierce Battle (Part Two)

Singh fought Opera aboard the Isel, breaking through his cream attacks as he tried to awaken his Observation Haki. When Opera’s Pastry Behemoth nearly overwhelmed him, Singh unleashed the giant bloodline within him and struck with Hakkoku, sending Opera flying toward Katakuri’s ship.

  • Singh attacked Opera after seeing him restrain George, but Opera blocked the blow and trapped Singh in cream walls.
  • Singh broke free and countered Opera’s cream cannonballs while Opera transformed a soul-filled cake into the towering Pastry Behemoth.
  • Opera battered the deck with the behemoth’s giant hands, while Catherine stopped Lulith from intervening so Singh could keep fighting.
  • Singh closed his eyes and dodged the behemoth’s attacks to awaken his Observation Haki, but Opera coated the deck in slippery cream and knocked him back.
  • Opera struck at Singh with a giant cream fist, and Singh unleashed his giant bloodline to fire Hakkoku, shattering the behemoth and sending Opera flying toward Katakuri’s ship.

Ch. 211The Fierce Battle (Part Two)

Luo Chen fought Katakuri aboard the Big Mom Pirates’ ship, revealing his pressure-based technique and struggling against Katakuri’s Observation Haki and mochi attacks. After Katakuri demanded that he stop holding back, Luo Chen transformed into his Shura True Form and opened a new clash with a blood-energy cannon.

  • Opera was sent crashing onto Katakuri’s ship, and Luo Chen taunted Katakuri while urging him to fight.
  • Luo Chen released his concentrated presence, incapacitating the approaching chess soldiers, and Katakuri identified the technique as an effect similar to Conqueror’s Haki.
  • Luo Chen attacked Katakuri, but Katakuri used Observation Haki and mochi to evade, trap, and strike him before they clashed in the air with Rain Burial and a mochi fist.
  • Katakuri demanded that Luo Chen reveal his remaining strength, so Luo Chen transformed into his Shura True Form.
  • Katakuri formed two enormous mochi arms with Peerless Donut, and Luo Chen countered with Shura Blood Cannon, causing an explosion of blood mist and mochi fragments.

Ch. 212Jack Joins the Battle (Two-in-One)

Luo Chen tried to escape while Jack the Drought's fleet attacked Katakuri's forces, but Jack arrived and revealed that he had come to capture Luo Chen. Katakuri and Jack fought over him, and Luo Chen joined the battle, realizing he would have to fight both powerful opponents to get away.

  • Katakuri and Luo Chen exchanged powerful attacks until Jack the Drought's fleet arrived and began firing on Katakuri's ships.
  • Luo Chen tried to use the chaos to escape, but Katakuri attacked him, and Luo Chen defended himself while the Isel's crew prepared to flee.
  • Jack ordered his men to continue firing, leaped onto Katakuri's flagship, and challenged Katakuri.
  • Luo Chen attempted to fly away, but Jack knocked him back onto the deck and declared that the Beasts Pirates had come to capture him.
  • Katakuri refused to hand Luo Chen over, and he and Jack began fighting over him.
  • Luo Chen attacked both men with Crimson Breath Dragon Fist and detonated the energy around them, but Jack healed and Katakuri repaired his mochi body, leaving Luo Chen to face a fierce battle.

Ch. 213Rescue

Luo Chen fought Jack and Katakuri aboard Katakuri’s flagship but was badly injured when Katakuri trapped him with an awakened mochi attack. As Katakuri prepared to finish him, someone rammed a small boat into the flagship, leaving it badly damaged and taking seawater.

  • Luo Chen, Jack, and Katakuri traded attacks across the deck, but none could gain a decisive advantage.
  • Katakuri awakened his mochi powers, trapping Jack while Luo Chen dodged the tentacles from the air.
  • Katakuri used Peerless Donut: Mochi Clap to break Luo Chen’s wings and send him crashing onto the deck.
  • As Katakuri prepared Nine-Headed Mochi to deliver the final blow, the flagship shook violently.
  • A chess soldier told Katakuri that someone had rammed a small boat into the flagship, punched a huge hole in it, and left the shipwrights unable to stop the flooding.

Ch. 214Breaking Free

Luo Chen and Phil escaped Katakuri’s ship after Luo Chen struck Katakuri and Jack repeatedly attacked him. Jack and Katakuri stayed behind to fight, while Luo Chen’s crew waited aboard the Isel and worried about their captain.

  • Jack broke free of Katakuri’s mochi trap and attacked him, but Katakuri pierced Jack’s abdomen and sent him crashing into the railing.
  • Luo Chen used Bursting Leg to blast Katakuri into the cabin while Jack fought him.
  • Phil appeared and helped Luo Chen escape toward the Isel, warning that they needed to leave at once.
  • Katakuri tried to seize Luo Chen and Phil, but Jack interrupted him and let them get away.
  • Jack challenged Katakuri to settle which of them was stronger as the two resumed fighting.
  • Aboard the Isel, George worried about Luo Chen, and Catherine reassured the crew that he would return.

Ch. 215Coming Aboard

Luo Chen returned to the Isel after escaping Katakuri and Jack the Drought, then invited Phil to join the Luo Chen Pirates. As the crew sailed away, Morgans broadcast footage of the battle, and Sengoku asked the Marines whether Luo Chen was fit to become a Shichibukai.

  • Catherine embraced Luo Chen when he returned safely, and he comforted her before introducing Phil to the crew.
  • Luo Chen invited Phil to join the Luo Chen Pirates, but Phil demanded a strength contest and George angrily challenged him.
  • Luo Chen stopped George and Phil from fighting, ordered George to chart a course, and postponed the contest until the Isel had escaped danger.
  • Morgans recorded Luo Chen's battle with Katakuri and Jack the Drought, then broadcast the footage to the Five Elders and Marine Headquarters.
  • Sengoku showed Morgans's footage to the Marines and asked whether Luo Chen was fit to serve as a Shichibukai.

Ch. 216The Message

Sengoku and the Navy's leaders debated how to deal with Luo Chen, whose Shura Fruit and growing strength made him a major threat. The Five Elders overruled the meeting and ordered Luo Chen appointed a Shichibukai, while Morgans's newspaper and a government messenger bat carried news to the world and the Isel.

  • Tsuru explained that the Shura Fruit had been called the strongest Zoan in records of the Celestial Dragon families and urged the Navy to prepare for Luo Chen's growing threat.
  • Tsuru proposed raising the Luo Chen Pirates' bounties, publicizing their exploits to provoke Big Mom and Kaido, and recruiting Luo Chen as a Shichibukai to fight Whitebeard.
  • Akainu rejected Tsuru's plan, arguing that he could capture the Luo Chen Pirates himself and that pirates would not reliably fight alongside the Navy; Kizaru also warned that the Navy could be bitten by the force it tried to use.
  • A Navy soldier brought Sengoku a call from above, and Sengoku learned that the Five Elders had already ordered Luo Chen made a Shichibukai and sent a messenger bat.
  • Sengoku told the meeting to follow Tsuru's proposals and adjourned it; Akainu stormed out, and the other officers left soon after.
  • Morgans's newspaper spread around the world as the government's messenger bat arrived aboard the Isel with a letter announcing the decision.

Ch. 217Invitation Letter

A government messenger delivered Luo Chen an invitation to become a Shichibukai, along with wanted posters and a promise to resolve Catherine’s family troubles and engagement. Luo Chen decided to accept so he could witness the coming execution of Portgas D. Ace, and his crew agreed to accompany him to Marineford.

  • A messenger bat delivered the government’s letter to Singh, who brought it to Luo Chen.
  • Luo Chen gathered his crew and announced the invitation to become a Shichibukai, then passed around the letter and wanted posters.
  • Catherine and Lulith discovered that the letter identified Catherine as a Celestial Dragon and Saint Orange’s fiancée, and Catherine refused to explain her past.
  • Luo Chen said he would accept the position because he wanted to witness the battle surrounding Portgas D. Ace’s execution.
  • George and the other crew members supported Luo Chen, and they agreed to travel to Sabaody Archipelago and then Marineford.

Ch. 218Heading for the Sabaody Archipelago

The Luo Chen Pirates sailed toward the Sabaody Archipelago while George complained about the journey and avoided kitchen work. Onboard, Catherine trained Lulith and then fought Phil until George interrupted them, leaving their rivalry unresolved.

  • George complained that the trip to the Sabaody Archipelago was taking too long, then rushed away when Monbuma asked him to help prepare lunch.
  • Catherine defeated Lulith in a sword spar and sent her to reflect before doing physical training with Luo Chen.
  • Phil praised Catherine’s swordsmanship and challenged her to a fight, which Catherine accepted.
  • Catherine and Phil exchanged powerful attacks that battered the training room and damaged its floor and walls.
  • George arrived for his daily training and interrupted the fight, so Phil and Catherine agreed to continue another time.

Ch. 219At Last, Reaching the Top

Luo Chen reassured his crew that becoming a Shichibukai would not end their adventures and promised to lead them into the New World to challenge powerful opponents. With the Sabaody Archipelago still more than a day away, he planned to train them before they arrived.

  • Luo Chen and Singh ate Monbuma's Poseidon meat as Catherine, Phil, and Lulith returned from a fierce sparring match with disheveled clothes.
  • Catherine and Lulith worried that the Navy might be luring Luo Chen into a trap, while George feared that becoming a Shichibukai would make the crew settle down and stop growing stronger.
  • Luo Chen promised to lead the Luo Chen Pirates into the New World after the Navy incident and make their name known across the sea.
  • Phil praised Luo Chen's ambition but challenged him to prove his strength in a fight after the incident.
  • George checked the nautical chart and Log Pose and estimated that they would reach the Sabaody Archipelago around the morning after tomorrow.
  • Luo Chen urged the crew to finish eating so he could give them special training before their arrival.

Ch. 220At Last, Down Below

Luo Chen’s ship reached Sabaody Archipelago, where he allowed his crew to explore under Catherine’s or Phil’s protection despite the island’s slave trade and other dangers. As Marines gathered on shore to receive him, Luo Chen flew ahead toward them and left Phil in charge of the crew.

  • Luo Chen put George and Lulith through two days of grueling special training, giving George twice Lulith’s workload.
  • The Isel approached Sabaody Archipelago, and the crew saw its towering redwood trees and drifting soap bubbles.
  • Lulith asked to explore the island, and Catherine warned her that slave traders and other dangers lurked there.
  • Luo Chen said Lulith could explore with Catherine or Phil, and told the crew not to back down if anyone provoked them, even a Celestial Dragon.
  • Catherine spotted Marines waiting on shore, and Luo Chen told Phil to protect the crew while he went to meet them.
  • Phil promised to guard the crew, and Luo Chen formed crimson wings from blood aura and flew toward the shore.

Ch. 221Welcome

Luo Chen arrived at the Sabaody Archipelago and learned that Tyrant Kuma would join him on the trip to Marineford, while his crew split up to explore the island. He reached the Marines’ G-18 Fortress and learned that headquarters had struggled to secure permission to build a base there.

  • Officer welcomed Luo Chen and said they would wait for Tyrant Kuma before sailing to Marineford.
  • Luo Chen agreed to wait at the Marines’ base and asked Officer to provide a feast.
  • Catherine split the crew into groups and warned them to avoid trouble and stay alert for slave traders.
  • Phil, George, Monbuma, and Singh went ashore in separate groups from Catherine and Lulith.
  • Officer led Luo Chen to the G-18 Fortress, where he explained that Marine headquarters had struggled to obtain permission to build the base.

Ch. 222Terms of Delivery

Luo Chen met Vice Admiral Romas at G18 Base, where Romas gave him confidential documents from Marine Headquarters. The documents revealed that Tsuru wanted Luo Chen to defeat the Supernovas gathered on an island and help the Marines arrest them, and Luo Chen looked for the promised incentive.

  • Romas warmly welcomed Luo Chen to G18 Base and invited him to eat while asking about his battle against Katakuri and Jack the Drought.
  • Luo Chen evaded Romas's questions, then confronted him about the reason for his unusually warm reception.
  • Romas dismissed the attendants and handed Luo Chen confidential documents from Headquarters.
  • Luo Chen found wanted posters for himself and his companions, along with a letter explaining the Marines' request.
  • Luo Chen read Tsuru's letter and asked Romas whether Headquarters had included any further incentive for him to take on the Supernovas.

Ch. 223Payment

Luo Chen accepted the Navy’s offer to defeat the Supernovas in exchange for a Devil Fruit, a sword, a training manual, and their bounties, then flew out to find them. After sensing and losing track of Rayleigh, he headed for the Lawless Area, where Jewelry Bonney was eating in a restaurant with another Supernova nearby.

  • Romas opened the chest sent by Vice Admiral Tsuru and showed Luo Chen the Bug-Bug Fruit, Light Butterfly Model; Frost Blossom; and a navy physical arts training manual.
  • Luo Chen accepted the Navy’s terms, asked Romas to send soldiers after him, and flew out of the headquarters using enormous red wings.
  • Luo Chen spread his Observation Haki across the Sabaody Archipelago and briefly sensed Rayleigh, who concealed his presence while soldiers escorted him toward an auction.
  • Luo Chen identified Rayleigh as a likely source of the powerful aura, decided not to provoke him, and flew toward the Lawless Area on GR 24-26.
  • At a luxurious restaurant on GR 24, Jewelry Bonney continued eating while a nearby mafia-dressed Supernova told a subordinate to make her stop.
