Sealing master Mito Uzumaki led a team on an extermination campaign against the Hashimoto Clan, a vassal clan of the Hyuga. Hashimoto Clan head Tamaki Hashimoto, Great Elder Naisu Hashimoto, and the others immediately led the clan's powerful fighters forward. Tamaki shouted, "Mito Uzumaki, don't go too far! Our Hashimoto Clan has no quarrel with you, so why are you trying to kill us all?" Mito said coldly, "You took part in the assassination of Senju clansmen. This is what you get!" With that, she formed a seal with one hand, and the Nine-Tails' chakra erupted in an instant. The powerful chakra formed a huge storm that blew the surrounding houses to pieces. The golden chains shot out again, illuminating all of Konoha as though it were broad daylight. Powerful fighters from many clans jumped onto rooftops to watch the battle from afar, and Senju ninja stopped anyone who tried to reach the battlefield. At the center of Konoha, Hashirama Senju stood atop a Wood Dragon, looking down over the entire village.
The Hashimoto Clan's fighters unleashed ninjutsu to defend themselves, but before the Nine-Tails' powerful chakra, their techniques proved utterly feeble. Naisu Hashimoto, a clan head level fighter of the Hashimoto Clan, tried to approach Mito but was flung away by the Nine-Tails' chakra and slammed hard into the ground. The Adamantine Sealing Chains then bound him and drained his chakra. The other Senju ninja were responsible for sweeping the Hashimoto territory for survivors. The Hashimoto ninja could not even put up a decent resistance. In the end, five clan head level fighters were drained of their chakra, and only the clan head survived; all the others were executed.
Under the Senju Clan's overwhelming assault, all of the Hashimoto Clan's more than 5,800 members were killed, while the Senju suffered no casualties. The outcome shook all of Konoha. Once the battle against the Hashimoto Family was essentially over, Mito headed for the Yamamoto family.
The fighting, however, was far from over. Before the Four Violet Flames Formation raised over the Ishikawa Clan had disappeared, another rose over the Shinozuka Family's territory, followed by one over the Yamamoto family. All the clans in Konoha began to panic and ordered their ninja to assemble. The Sarutobi Clan, the Shimura Clan, the Ino-Shika-Cho, and other clans went so far as to gather their strongest fighters. They all worried that their own clans might be the next targets.
Tennin Hyuga even rushed to Hashirama Senju's side and demanded, "What exactly is your Senju Clan trying to do? Are you trying to destroy Konoha?" His voice was full of anger and concern, and his eyes remained fixed on Hashirama. Uchiha Tomioki also came running over and said angrily, "Has the Senju Clan gone mad, committing such an act of extermination?" Dissatisfaction and fear were written across his face, and his hands were clenched tightly into fists.
Hashirama Senju's voice shook Konoha as he shouted, "All clans, remain in your own territories and keep your people calm. Tennin Hyuga stared intently at Hashirama with his Byakugan and sneered, "I'll be watching to see what kind of explanation your Senju Clan gives us. If you can't give us a reasonable one, my Hyuga Clan will leave Konoha!" A hint of threat showed in his eyes. He thought that if the Senju Clan did not give him a satisfactory answer, he would never let the matter rest. Uchiha Tomioki added, "The same goes for the Uchiha Clan. Otherwise, we won't even know when our clan might be wiped out." His voice was full of worry and unease. He did not want the Uchiha Clan to suffer such a catastrophic disaster too.
Hashirama Senju smiled and said, "If you still want to leave Konoha after the meeting, I won't stop you." There was a trace of helplessness in his smile, but he was thinking about how to resolve the crisis and restore Konoha's former peace.
The Ishikawa Clan's territory had once been peaceful. Who could have expected the Senju Clan to launch a brazen surprise attack like a pack of hungry wolves? They began eliminating the Ishikawa clansmen from the outskirts inward, and by the time they were discovered, more than half had been killed or wounded. The alarm instantly pierced the sky, rousing the Ishikawa Clan's men and women, young and old, from their peaceful lives to face this devastating calamity.
The clan reacted quickly. In the blink of an eye, three clan head level experts charged out like sharp blades and took the front line against the Senju assault. Kuma Ishikawa was a master of Earth Release ninjutsu. He rapidly formed hand seals and roared, "Earth Release: Rock Pillar Spear Forest!" In an instant, the ground shook violently, and countless sharp rock pillars burst from beneath the earth. Like a forest of stone, they thrust toward the Senju forces.
Kaichi Ishikawa, who excelled at swordsmanship, refused to be outdone. He drew the sharp long sword at his waist, and a faint sheen of chakra spread over its blade. His figure flickered as he darted like a ghost through the gaps in the Senju Clan's attacks. Every swing sent out a fierce slash of sword energy. "Sky-Splitting Slash!" Takaha Ishikawa, who excelled at Fire Release Ninjutsu, stood behind the other two and rapidly formed hand seals. "Fire Style: Great Dragon Fire Technique!" A massive fire dragon burst from his mouth and charged toward the Senju Clan amid rolling waves of heat. Wherever the dragon passed, even the air caught fire with a crackling sound.
On the Senju side, three clan head level experts stepped forward to meet them. Faced with Kuma Ishikawa's Rock Pillar Spear Forest, one of the Senju clan heads clapped his hands together. "Water Release: Water Formation Wall!" A massive wall of water appeared out of nowhere and blocked every rock pillar. Water and stone collided with thunderous bangs, sending great sheets of spray into the air.
Another Senju clan head charged at Kaichi Ishikawa. He carried no weapon, yet he showed no fear of Kaichi's long sword. He clenched his fists, chakra surging wildly through his body. "Super Strength Fist!" With a loud shout, he hurled a punch at Kaichi. The wind from his fist howled, distorting the air around it. Kaichi hastily raised his sword to block. With a resounding clang, the force of the punch sent him staggering backward, his arms numb.
The third Senju clan head faced Takaha Ishikawa. He sneered and formed hand seals. "Wind Release: Wind Blade Wild Dance!" Countless wind blades swept toward Takaha like blades caught in a gale. Seeing this, Takaha immediately formed more hand seals. "Fire Release: Flame Bullet Storm!" Countless small fireballs shot from his hands and collided with the wind blades. Flames scattered everywhere, and explosions rang out without pause.
The Senju Clan's ten squads drove straight into the heart of Ishikawa territory like ten sharp, dagger-handled knives. Each squad had ten Elite Jonin and a clan head level captain. Every one of them had abundant chakra and a powerful body; they were practically ninjutsu turrets. Wind, lightning, water, fire, and earth ninjutsu rained down on the Ishikawa Clan as though they cost nothing. For a time, the light of countless techniques intertwined above the Ishikawa territory, and explosions thundered deafeningly.
In one group of Ishikawa fighters, several Jonin formed hand seals at once. "Earth Release: Earth Wall Technique!" A thick earthen wall instantly rose from the ground. Across from them, a Senju Elite Jonin unleashed the "Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet Technique!" The water dragon roared into the wall, and the tremendous impact brought it crashing down. Without slowing, the dragon continued toward the Ishikawa Clan. Just as it was about to strike the clansmen, an Ishikawa ninja quickly formed hand seals. "Wind Release: Wind Wall!" A violent barrier of wind appeared in front of the dragon. The water dragon collided with the wind wall with a sizzling sound, throwing up great sheets of spray.
The two sides traded blows like this as the battle reached a fever pitch. Neither could easily break through the other's defenses, and they fell into a stalemate.
Just then, however, a flash of golden light appeared, and Tobirama Senju arrived on the battlefield using the Flying Thunder God. As soon as he appeared, he opened with the Shuriken Multiple Shadow Clone Technique. Countless Flying Thunder God Kunai shot toward the Ishikawa Clan with deadly force. As though they had eyes, the kunai flew unerringly toward the Ishikawa ninja.
Immediately afterward, Tobirama Senju flickered from one Ishikawa clansman to another, the Thunder God Sword in his hand gleaming coldly. With every appearance, an Ishikawa Jonin fell beneath his sword. He was too fast for the Ishikawa ninja to react. "Flying Thunder God Slash!" Tobirama called in a low voice, appearing instantly behind an Ishikawa Jonin. The Thunder God Sword swept through an arc, and the Jonin fell into a pool of blood without even having time to scream.
Under Tobirama Senju's assault, the Ishikawa Clan's morale gradually plummeted. As they watched their comrades fall one after another, many began to think of fleeing. But the Senju Clan had surrounded them on all sides, leaving them nowhere to run. Like lambs locked in a cage, they could only wait to be slaughtered.
Seeing how ruthless Tobirama Senju was, Takaha Ishikawa burned with rage. He charged recklessly at Tobirama. "Fire Style: Purgatory Great Flame!" She pushed her Fire Release Ninjutsu to its limit, sending a vast sea of flames spreading toward Tobirama. Tobirama showed no fear. He quickly formed hand seals. "Forbidden Technique: World-Destroying Tsunami!" Enormous waves slowly rose from beneath the ground, and the seawater rose rapidly, floating corpses everywhere within it. The water surged toward the Ishikawa Clan. Several powerful Ishikawa ninja stepped forward and raised earth walls to block it, but the tsunami raced onward. The waters extinguished Takaha's flames and continued toward Takaha, surrounding him. Takaha fought desperately in the water, but the tsunami eventually swept her away. Tobirama seized the chance and used the Flying Thunder God Technique to appear instantly behind Takaha. With one swing of the Thunder God Sword, he cut Takaha in two, sending blood spraying everywhere.
Kaichi Ishikawa had also been driven into a hopeless situation. Several clan head level Senju experts had surrounded him completely. He swung his long sword, trying to carve a bloody path out, but there were simply too many enemies. "Earth Release: Ground-Splitting Pitfall!" A clan head level Senju fighter unleashed the technique. The ground beneath Kaichi suddenly split open, and he fell into a deep pit. Before he could react, the other Senju clan heads' ninjutsu followed in quick succession. "Water Release: Great Waterfall Technique!" "Wind Release: Vacuum Great Sphere!" Ninjutsu exploded throughout the pit, and Kaichi Ishikawa lost his life under the ferocious assault.
In the end, only clan head Kuma Ishikawa remained, besieged by the Senju. Though he resisted stubbornly, Tobirama Senju ultimately severed all four of his limbs. The Senju used a special Sealing Jutsu to seal him, then took him away to death row. The Ishikawa Clan, once prosperous during the Warring States period, was slaughtered to the last under the Senju assault, becoming dust in the annals of history.
